Ipod shuts off by itself during play

My Ipod shuts off by itself while it is playing. It does it in the hold mode as well. Please help.

i reset it at first and that didn't seem to work. so i downloaded the itunes version 7.0 again and volia!!! it worked. it hasn't given me that problem. its been 2 days and no shut offs!!

Try deleting the tracks from your iTunes library and then downloading them again to test the playback. If it continues, then report the issue to the iTunes Store.

Have you tried the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem then it appears that you have a hardware problem, maybe a battery problem. An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Video Issue (iPod shuts off)

2 months ago, I would play videos, and they iPod would shut off and go to the apple screen. Sometimes, it wouldn't even turn back on. I sent it back. They SAID they fixed it. I run a video again. iPod shuts off. Same thing. Says the battery if full, then red, then full, then red, then full. I feel I got ripped off big time.

When this happens, it's usually one of three things:
1. A bad video file (make sure it plays fine in iTunes).
2. The iPod's battery is near empty (make sure it's fully charged - the battery symbol has to show a lightning bolt and flash green, otherwise it's not charging properly).
3. There's a problem with the iPod itself. Try the instructions in iPod 101:

If none of this helps, you may have a bad iPod.

Imac shuts off by itself

It just started about three hours ago, but my iMac keeps unexpededly shutting off by itself. It's not exactly hot, but I do play an online game but it has never done this before. Its shut off 3 times now, and the longer I keep it off the longer it stays on, but its still cutting off. Any help here?

Reset the SMC, which can fix sudden shut downs:
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.

My ipod shut off for no reason, it had a full charge but it just shut off and it won't come back on and when I plug in in to my computer nothing happens, this happened before and I played with the buttons till it came on but it's not working this time. Any Advice?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPod shutting off after use?

Hi everybody, so i was using my iPod touch and the app i was using started to glitch a bit, i didn't pay attention to it and kept playing. Then a few seconds later, my iPod shut off and the silver apple symbol popped up. Ive seen it before when my uncle starts up his iPhone, but it doesn't do it on startup on mine. What's going on and what can i do? Thanks

IIf the battery was completely drained it might take some time before the phone will respond. Wait at least 30 minutes with the phone connected to the charger. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the phone starts up let it continue to charge until it's 100%.
if the broken button will not let you do the reset Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Has any one figured out how to fix an issue I'm having. My iPhone 5 randomly shuts off by itself. Then it won't turn on when i try to hook it up to iTunes it says its in recovery mode. so then i hit restore and its been stuck on waiting for iPhone.

This happened after I did a software update on my phone about a month and a half ago. My phone will randomly shut off by itself and wont come back on. I had spoke with an apple repair person over the phone who told me to hold in the home button and then plug it into my computer. When the iphone said that there was an error and gave him a code he suggested that I send it in. So I did and about a week and a half later I get it back and its on. Yet the problem still occurs. It shut off twice in the same day and for several hours would not come on. When it did I called apple again and they ran a diagnostic on my phone and said it was a software issue. So then why was it not fixed? They told me they could not duplicate the problem. And now it happens about once or twice a week now. And its happening right now. I have it plugged into my computer and the apple logo with a bar below it has been on for about 20 min now. And itunes is still saying "waiting for iphone."

The steps detailed below can help stabilize your iPhone.
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. I bought an ulnocked iPhone 4 a week ago in Hawaii. I'm from Argentina, so I got back and asked for a microsim card in my local carrier (Claro), which took about 4 days (they're annoying). When I finally activated my iPhone, I tried to charge it in an iMac, and all I got was the plug icon. iTunes DID recognize the device, but it was not charging. I plugged it to a wall source. The same thing happened. Then, I made a Restore via iTunes. No luck. I tried upgrading the IOS to 5.1. No luck again. The battery percentage stayed always the same. Afterwards, it started to shut off by itself. Connected to a source or not. Everytime the phone was ON again, the battery percentage became updated, which suggested me that there was occurring some charging...
The next day, I took my iPhone to a Reseller here (called iPoint -there are no Apple Stores in Argentina-) and told my problem, but, when I connected the phone there, the bolt icon finally appeared. I thought the problem was solved, but when I came back home, i realised that even the icon was there, the battery percentage didn't change either. Then it commenced to turn itself off again and again. This happens more quickly if I have the iPhone connected to a power source, but it happens anyway if it's not...
I'm feeling like I can't rely on Apple anymore as a safe choice. It use to be a warranty of perfection...
I'm a bit desperate, hope someone can help me...

It would appear that you can ask for an exchange but it doesn't specify any time frame... Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can add to this.
By the way, if you've replaced the drive so many times, perhaps there's something else going on elsewhere.

Why does my iphone 3 keep shutting off by itself

my iphone 3 has been shutting off by itself. whenever i use it, a battery appears on the screen showing very little battery life, when it has 100% battery life..when it finally goes back on, a third of the life is gone...doesnt matter whether im texting, online or tallking it shuts off, any suggestions on why it soes this?

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as a new device. Go through each step in succession until your issue is resolved.
