IPod skipping on 3G iPhone

Is anyone else having problems with their ipod skipping on their 3G phone? Some time ago I saw a couple of similar posts and theirs, like mine, happened in the gym. It sounds like an old CD player skipping all around. The problem is, I only walk on the treadmill, so this could happen anywhere. Still, it should not happen even if you are running hard on a treadmill. Mine skips from a podcast to music and then to other music and then back to a different podcast, staying in one place for only a couple of seconds. Most days it works fine, but this is frustrating. Has anyone else encountered this?

I've never had this happen, but the manual suggests restart, reset for most issues:
"If something is not working right, restarting or resetting iPhone will likely solve the
problem.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and
hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
For more troubleshooting suggestions, see Appendix A, “Troubleshooting,” on
page 132."

Have you had a chance to look at these troubleshooting pages? They may be of some help:
Troubleshooting songs that skip on iPod

iPod does not play content purchased from the iTunes Music Store
*is there any way of transferring my music on my ipod to a cd to preseve it?*
If you have songs on the iPod that aren't on the computer you need to copy them back to iTunes to back them up to CD or DVD. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

Your iPhone and iPod can share the same iTunes account.  Apps can be freely shared and used by one or both devices.  You can't use money in your iTunes account to pay for your phone, but purchased apps can be used by both the iPod and iPhone.

  • I restored my ipod settings to my iphone by mistake. How do I revert this change?

(Sorry for the caps in advance! )I set up my iPOD with itunes a few years ago. My boyfriend has his iphone set up on itunes as well. When I plugged my iPHONE into the computer for the first time it gave me a drop down menu to as to which phone I want to restore to. Not reading it properly, I selected my old iPOD instead of my iPHONE (I didn't have an itunes account set up at this stage for my iPHONE) I should have set up a new account but I didn't .
Anyhow, when the restore went through, I realised that everything that was on my iPOD was now on my iPHONE and everything that was on my iPHONE was gone. I have loads of photos and contacts but mainly photos that I want to get back on it. I went to a help centre article (I'll try find it again) and it said that I should have the most up to date version of ios as step one. So I downloaded the most recent version of ios but I still have all my IPOD stuff.
Anyone know a way to get back my photos?
    Thanks in advance!

If you didn't import the photos from the Camera Roll first, the photos and any other data that was unique to your iPhone is gone.
The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes on a computer that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or selected iOS device, or set up the new iPhone as a new iPhone. This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone, not days, weeks, or months later.
When choosing the former, a backup for the iPhone is not created first.
Had you chosen the latter, no data on your iPhone would have been touched.

  • IPod view on the iPhone like the Remote's view!?

I think Apple should change the iPod view (menù) on the iPhone, to make it like the iTunes view, like in the Application "Remote" by Apple, which is exactly like the iTunes' one... I think it's more clear, better, and the icon of the Smart Playlist are different from the common playlist, and u can edit them, and stuff... U know, I think that the iPod part of the iPhone should be like the "Remote" Application!!

Ok. But, "we" are users like you.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

In iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar.  You can then view you phone as you could with previous versions.  To register your phone go to https://register.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/GlobaliReg.woa.

Did you do eveyrthing in the following:

Including removing and reinstalling all the Apple software by:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

My iPod player within my iPhone isn't working properly when playing videos it will start then stop after a few seconds and also the sound bar appears then disappears, and when playing music no sound is coming out when I'm on a call I can hear everything properly and also on loud speaker! What can I do to remedy this? Please help!!!

If you haven't tried it yet, I'd eliminate memory issues first.  Close all of the apps with the double tap on the home button method

    then restart the device.

Did you try carving a pentagram into the ground, filing it with gasoline, lighting it on fire, placing the ipod inside the pentagram, and then dancing around it naked while howling at the moon yet ?
I supose its possible that there were internet interuptions during the download of theese songs. Most computer soundcards have technology that eliminates skips by... skipiing the skips. If you have a problem like Goldwave (freeware), you can open the file and zoom in to look at the wav. If there are little holes, you can delete them and it will be seemless. This is something I have done in the past, but likely isn't your issue.
Sorry I cant offer a more definative answer.
