IPod skipps all purchased songs after a reset

Hi,
Since I upgraded to version 7 of iTunes I have had the problem where after a reset my iPod mini will skip all purchased songs and only play songs ripped from cd's
(this did not happen at all with v6 of iTunes).
The only way around this is to hook it back up to the pc and let iTunes connect. Once it is connected and it says ok to disconnect I can disconnect my iPod and the songs will play until the next time it is reset.
Where can I go or who can I contact to see about getting this bug in the software fixed?

You can contact the iTunes store and they MAY allow a redownload. However, when you purchase music it is up to you to back it up since you pnly get one download. To connact them go to:

Ipod mini won't play purchased songs after 2 days.

ok this is really weird but my iPod mini won't play ANY of my purchased songs after 2 days of use. Then I have to hook it up to my comp and buy another song or download and then it will play the purchased songs. my mom has an ipod mini and doesn't have this problem. whats up with it?

finally someone with my same problem, it has been solved though! what you do is you hook the mini to comp and then clik on the mini in source list, play purchased song, and then it should work

Help - iPod not playing purchased songs.

For some reason, my iPod is no longer playing songs that I have purchased through iTunes.
I can get music from CDs to play fine, but when I put a purchased tune on there, it simply displays the song, then skips it. If I put all purchased songs in one playlist, it simply skips all the way to the last song then jumps back to the main menu.
I didn't have the problem when I first got the nano.

Why are ringtones not available for all purchased songs?

does anyone know why you can not make a ringtone from all purchased songs? e.g., none of the songs I'e downloaded from The Beatles may be made in to ringtones.

I am having no problems with the HBOGo app on my iPad. Try quitting the app and then restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close the app by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the HBOGo icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, try a reset of the iPad. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Connect the iPod to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and then on the right-hand side you can use the Music tab to select which of your music that you want on the iPod.

After upgrade, iPod wont allow purchased songs on iPod

After trying many things, and finally calling tech support, I got iTunes 6.1 running. It updated all of my songs, except for the ones I purchased. I only have this computer authorized, and I can play all of my purchased songs on the computer. But, none of the purchased ones will transfer to iPod. I "reset" the iPod warnings, and it still wont do it. I've updated the iPod, and I restored it.

I can't think of any reason that songs purchased from the iTunes store wouldn't go on to your iPod (unless you didn't disconnect it properly from your computer), so I suggest that you make a new playlist and drag all of your songs into this playlist. Then change the preferences so that this playlist automatically syncs.

I recently reset my ipod because it was frozen. Now I find that most of my music - the stuff I purchased from itunes is no longer on it. Even though my laptop is authorized - and the only computer I have that's authorized - it won't let me update my ipod with all my purchased music. OK, you need the iPod 101 course.
But....if you connect your iPod to your laptop, things should be back to normal.
If you want to hook your iPod up to more than one PC you have to set it for manual update....which is not the default. The default is automatic update.

If you have sync'd / transferred the songs to iTunes prior to the restore (they would be listed under iTunes Store or within your library if so) then you can easily sync these across. If, however, you don't you will need to get in contact with iTunes Store Support so as that they can look at possibly reauthorising a download of them for you.
As an aside, with any purchases you ever make regularly backup and transfer the purchases from your device to your computer. That way you shouldn't lose them

I have re-installed itunes but am wondering if I plug my ipod in, will it automatically delete all of my songs? If your iPod is set to update automatically you just need to take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. You will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No* (or "Cancel" if you are using iTunes 7). Pressing "Yes" (or Erase and Sync in iTunes 7) will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. In iTunes 7 Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Don't uncheck Sync Music it will be unchecked by default when you choose the manual setting: Managing content manually on iPod
You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. As iTunes 7 is just out some of these may not have caught up with it yet though I haven't experienced any problems with the Mac software I use.

There is a new function in iTunes 7 under File, "Transfer Purchases from iPod" which transfers iTMS purchases. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are comparatively inexpensive these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay.
