IPOD songs blank- Still listen but no info shows up

I haven't seen this addressed but I am sorry if this is a repeat question:
I just got my Ipod video and it was working fine till last night. I didn't drop it, but now when I go to any song through either playlist, artist, album, genre, whatever, it plays the song but it gives me no info. It just says now playing and there is a blank screen without the volume or time left or song name or picture. Please tell me I just messed up a setting and need to change it. Anyone?

I'm not sure exactly what's going on there... However, you should try doing the follow, if you have not already.
Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, go to the Music tab. This is where you tell iTunes how you want your iTunes Music library synced to your iPod. If your entire library will fit on your iPod, you can set it to sync your Entire music library. Otherwise, you'll need to set up the Music tab to sync, based on playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres (so that the total selection fits on your iPod).
A good way to do this is to create one or more playlists in iTunes, and put only the songs you want on the iPod on those playlists. Then, set up the Music tab to sync only those playlists to your iPod.
When you click Apply, the songs on those playlists (or however you set up the Music tab) should be on your iPod. Going forward, any changes you make to your iTunes library (that relate to the Music tab setup) will sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or click on the Sync button.

1000 songs on sync iTunes, but only 40+ shows up on phone

I just updated the iOS 8.2
Then I just added more songs after the update, so in total its about 1100+ songs. Then the next day I'm ready to go out for a walk, and only 40 of these songs showed up. But when I sync on the iTunes it shows I have all the 1100 songs on my phone, but they dont show up. This has happened before but the difference was all the songs were gone from my phone, but not on iTunes.
I hate iTunes for that. Every update it's a disaster...

When the media on the device won't update as expected during a sync the method that usually works is this:
Export the contents of the camera roll. (You should do this routinely anyway.)
Backup the device, unless you have a recent backup that you would prefer to restore.
Restore as a new device. (The general restore process doesn't seem to clear things out before reloading, so there can be issues with missing artwork or incorrect capacity calculations.)
Restore the chosen backup.
In some cases it might pay to use the recovery mode method given in HT201263: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch at step 3 to ensure that a device has been completely reset before reloading your content.

Sounds like a hardware malfunction with the device. Could be the clickwheel itself or the logicboard. Either way, you'll need to send your iPod in for service if you want to be able to use it again.

Gotta wierd situation.
My iPod works fine in iTunes.
I have had 'Enable for Disk Use' enabled for a long time. However, my iPod doesn't show up under My Computer on WinXP.
I'd like to add some new Notes and remove some old ones, but you have to do that thru Windows, not thru iTunes.
Any ideas how to fix this problem?

i noticed one thing. the iPod is formated as FAT32, but i have my HD in NTFS. could this be related?
no, that one's normal. we need to leave her as FAT32. see:

hmmmmm. it's like the "enable disk use" setting is just refusing to stick for you.
but maybe we've got a window of oppportunity while it's doing that initial sync. the rules seem to be different for you then.
maybe try switching enable disk use off. then eject her, and plug her back in again (while you've got itunes already running).
the second she shows up in the itunes sourcelist, try diving into the preferences tab, and re-enabling disk use.
(i checked, and it's possible for me to do this with attractive beast ... hoping here that doing the "enable disk use" under these circumstances might get it to stick for you.)

Firefox is still running but does not show up in "task master" so it can be closed down and re-started?

1. Sometimes Firefox displays a message "Firefox is still running" but there is no evidence that this is true.
2. But, Firefox does not show up in "control-alternate-delete" to bring up Task Master in Windows 7.
3. There does not seem to be any means to stop Firefox and to re-start Firefox without a complete Re-start of the PC.
4. The mouse still works and the PC responds but there is no response from Firefox except the message "Firefox is still running..... etc.
5. How to stop Firefox, shutdown Firefox without a complete reboot/restart?

Way too complicated to solve the problem of "firefox is already running ....etc." and there must be a more simple solution to this problem which occurs once in awhile.
It seems to me that Mozilla developers can find a better solution and one that allows control-alternate-delete to fix the problem.
Otherwise, it is just resort to the old reboot solution.

How can reset my playlist? was there before now can only find all songs under songs. playlists still there but only 2/3 of total songs.

I have 6th gen ipod. Trying to reset the ipod or something so i can recreate my playlist as i dont want all my comp songs on my ipod. playlist screen shows some under 90s, some under classical, and some under recentl played, but none show all the songs on the ipod. i have to go to songs to be able to play the whole list at all. i have tried to change play list in itunes and resyncing but this hasnt changed my songs list or recreated a playlist. any ideas?

A smart playlist like "Recently Added" is based on the date that a track is added to your library. As far as why the Recently Added playlist starts with 13 particular songs, then proceeds with the rest of all your songs in alphabetic order, it is possible that either you (or iTunes) started adding the songs back with the 13 most recent songs you had previously added to your library before it was erased, and once those were added then things proceeded by artist in alphabetical order. Not sure, but there's really nothing you can do about that other than replace your .itl file with the original version if you still have it somewhere.

Logic Pro 9- I saved a song- the audio files did not bounce and are nowhere to be found. The song is still there, but the audio files are missing. Any ideas?

I have searched the computer by song name in the audio files.
I have opened up media files and looked everywhere.
I tried remapping where they would be saved and hoping they were updated.
Any help finding where they are located would be great. The song still loads when I open it, I just can't find the audio files!

I have zinced songs from my PC to my iPad and it has copied all the songs on my pc but some are showing very faintly on my iPad and these songs will not play. I have tried to delete them but they will not stay hilighted and show delete to enable me to do

First, in you reply (and i've read this elsewhere), you imply that i need to check a box that says "manually manage music." OK, great, but where do i find such box? Is that on the iphone or in itunes? Also, i am afraid of losing what i already do have on my phone. I have about 150 songs, some of which were purchesed thru itunes, but most of which i "dropped and dragged" from my older computer with the older version of itunes. When i go to itunes with my iphone plugged in, all of the boxes are grayed out, except one at the top that says "Sync Music". When i check this box, i get an error warning that says "Are you sure you want to remove existing music, movies, TV shows, books, and tones from this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? Music, movies, TV shows, books, and tones synced to [name of my iPhone] from other iTunes libraries will be removed and items will be synced from this iTunes library."
So, i have over 3000+ songs in my itunes library on my computer... obviously that isn't going to fit on my phone. So then, what is going to happen? I'll lose everything that is already on my phone PLUS it will NOT be able to sync?
Is now the time to buy a Zune?!? For the company that is supposedly "user friendly", Apple has really managed to screw this one up.

IPod recignized by Disk Utility but won't show up in iTunes

Message on Disk Utility is as below. Have reset and use on.off switch. Any suggestions please?

I have the same problem with a friend's 4G iPod I'm troubleshooting, though perhaps more complex than Bronxal's difficulty.
Sometimes "Verify Disk" will return a pass, sometimes it will have the error noted above. If I repair the disk, sometimes it will say that no repairs were necessary, sometimes it will successfully repair the disk. The strange thing is that these outcomes will occur within seconds of each other. In other words, I can repeatedly click on Repair, be told everything is fine, then a few clicks later Disk Utility will repair the drive; then if I keep clicking the same thing will happen, as though the drive never really was repaired.
I've tried the 5 Rs multiple times. Each time after restoring software, the iPod will begin to function properly, then refuse to do any number of things, including show up in iTunes, unmount, mount, or complete a file transfer in Disk Mode.
I thought it could be a harddrive malfunction, since I can hear it spinning up and spinning down unceasingly. However, the iPod's diagnostic mode says that HDD Test is Pass. Any ideas?

My device showed up and everything, my playlists and songs where still there, but my itouch still showed No Content. And the iTunes i am using now was not my original one because my old computer broke so i got a new computer and new iTunes, so this iTunes doesn't have all of my songs. i'm sick and tired of being afraid to update my itouch because it says it won't save my songs so when it updates my songs could be deleted. Could someone please help or tell me how to contact the Apple people?

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

Songs still listed, but content erased?

I had about 500 songs on my 4GB nano. I just downloaded 3 lectures(4.5 hours). Now nothing will play except the lectures and the last 2 CD's I downloaded previously. All the songs are still listed, but won't play. Could the content have been erased without warning to make room for the lectures?(I was a little surprised they all downloaded.) It says I have 3.5GB still available. Please help!

The best thing to do now would be to restore your iPod using the iPod Updater....
Restore your iPod
If that didn't work, then try formatting your iPod through "My Computer":
Connect your iPod.
Open "My Computer".
Right-click ony our iPod, and click on "format".
Start the formatting process in "FAT32", and don't let "quick format" be check-marked.
After this formatting is finally complete, make sure to perform a restore again, since it is necessary to complete this task. Restoring won't take so long; only up to 5 minutes.

try doing a soft reset. push and hold the home button and power button at the same time until the phone powers off completely. only release the buttons when you see the white apple pop back up on the screen if this doesn't work you will likely have to do a complete factory reset which can be found in general settings of the phone. hope this helps!
