IPod songs to computer

Does anyone no how to transfer songs from the iPod to iTunes. Any suggestions will help.
Thanks

Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer.
There's also Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod to iTunes.
There's also another method I've seen posted.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.

  • How to get ipod songs on computer

My old computer crashed, so i had to get a new one. All my ipod songs that were on itunes got deleted. How can i get them back and put them on my iphone?

If the songs are on your iPod, you won't be able to use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased by you from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party utilities that allow transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your computer, add them to the new computer's iTunes library, then sync it to your iPhone.

  • Any recommendations on software to backup IPOD songs to computer?

I have to do this because my < 2-year-old IPOD Photo has been throwing tantrums every now and then, and I have a premonition he might fall into a terminal comma one bright sunny day.
I was hoping to find out if there is any good software out there to back up IPOD songs(with all tags intact) to a computer(I am a PC user)? Itunes won't do that, and the other software I know that does this is CopyPod, but I wanted to see if there are any other alternatives
    Thanks

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.

  • Transfer ipod songs to computer

Recently my hard drive crashed on my computer. I replaced with a new hard drive so of course my ipod software and itunes is gone. I have my ipod software and I know I can reinstall itunes but is there a way to get my songs that are currently on my ipod transferred to itunes?

    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
    Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.

The above methods will depend on what version of iTunes you are running.
I can't vouch that any of them will work with iTunes version 7.

  • I need help moving data from my iPod to my computer.

Is there a way I can take all the music and movies and pictures from my ipod and transfer them onto my computer. Mainly I just want my pictures back I never backed them up on my laptop and that got destroyed while my husband was deployed in iraq a few years back. Im not sure how to work everything I always gave my ipod to him to have him upload everything on it. I just bought a Macbook and I am still learning how it works. Is it even possible to take stuff from my ipod and save it to my computer now?

First of all, when connecting your iPod to your computer, be sure to click "NO" if you recieve a message like this: "This iPod is linked to another computer. Would you like to replace the content?"
    Then, onto the iPod-to-computer transfer:
There are a few different methods with transferring iPod songs to your computer.
    These include:
--- Manually transfer your iPod songs to iTunes. See MacMuse's posting here: iPod songs to computer (MacMuse post)
--- Add your iPod's folder into the iTunes library (via iTunes). See Jeff Bryan's post here: Using iTunes settings to transfer iPod songs to iTunes
--- Use a third-party program to get the transferring done. For a Windows computer, CopyPod should work good. Also, you can try out YamiPod.
    I hope that helps you.

  • Some of my songs are listed twice on my iPod itself.  However, when I plug the iPod into my computer, the songs don't show up twice in iTunes when I click on device/music. How do I get rid of the duplicate songs on my iPod?

that is odd! that should not be happening.
Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes.

  • Ipod songs don't show up on my work computer

I have 60gb ipod I bought last month. I put a bunch of music on it on my home computer, and wanted to add songs to it at work. When I connect the ipod to my work comp., it doesn't find any of the songs on there, despite my manual update setting. Any idea how to access the songs (they are on the ipod when i unplug it, so they're not gone)?
    Both comps are using XP

Automatic syncing is controlled (set up by the user) using the iPod's Music tab.  Select the iPod in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right (near the top), there is a row of "tabs" (they look like buttons in the latest iTunes), that starts with Summary.  Click on Music there.
Make sure Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you tell iTunes how you want your iPod synced with music.  If your entire iTunes music library will fit on the iPod, you can select Entire music library.  Then, any change to your library (such as purchasing new songs from the iTunes Store) should automatically sync to the iPod.
Otherwise, if the entire library will not fit or you don't want to fill up the iPod with only songs, you need to set up syncing based on Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below that setting, set up the rest of the Music tab to tell iTunes what playlists, artists, albums, or genres to sync.  Only the songs included in your selection will sync to the iPod, so if you purchased new songs, they will not sync to the iPod unless thay are included in the selection on the Music tab.
One easy way to set it up is to create a new playlist in iTunes, and call it something like "iPod songs."  From your music library, add ALL the songs you want on the iPod to this playlist (including those new songs).  On the iPod's Music tab, select this playlist for syncing.  Going forward, any change you make to this playlist (adding or removing songs) will sync to the iPod automatically when it is connected and you tell it to Sync.
You can also set up the other tabs, such as Movies and Podcasts (and Apps for an iPod touch), to set up syncing for those other categories of media.  Just make sure the total size of the selection is less than the capacity of the iPod (shown on the "bar" near the bottom).
All of the above has not changed for the latest version if iTunes.  It works the same as before...

  • HT1339 I lost all my songs on ipod when my mom plugged her ipod into my computer. I tried to restore it but it says it cannot be restored because it is in use by another application. What do I do now? help! I still have all my songs in my itunes library

I lost all my ipod songs when my mom plugged her exact same ipod (5th generation nano) into my computer. She did not get my songs on hers but somehow I lost mine. I tried the five R's and evrything I could find online. I cannot get the songs from my iTunes library back on my ipod. I get a message that says. "Gina's ipod cannot be restored because it is being used in another application." Please help me

Why do you need to restore your iPod to resync your content back over to it from your iTunes library? You should just be able to configure the content to sync to your device as you did before this problem occurred.

Hey there! So I plugged in my ipod to my computer and it didn't show up where it normally does. I need to update my song list. How can I make it appear? It doesn't come up in iphoto either. A few days ago my sis plugged it into another computer but I don't know if she synched it to the other computer, and frankly, she won't remember. I have tried updating itunes, charging the ipod, restarting the ipod/computer, and the rest of what the apple site said to do. Ps I have the latest ipod touch
I need help stat! Please help!

I'd say your sister messed up and your iPod is toasted.
Think about it...  She plugged it in to another computer, she doesn't remember what she did (yeah, right), and now your iPod is not being recognized by your computer...
Also take into consideration how old is your sister, and how much does she know about electronics?

  • How do i move songs from apple id to my new ipod without a computer

I do not use a computer to purchase songs but rather purchase them straight from my iphone.  I now would like to also use those songs on my ipod nano but I do not have a computer to sync the ipod with.  How does a person put songs on their ipod without a computer? Thanks in advance for your help!

There is no way to do so.

  • How can I transfer songs from my IPOD to the computer?

I had a computer issue and some songs in Itunes got erased, they are however on my IPOD still. I used to get a message that askedme if I wanted to transfer music that was on my IPOD to the computer and the answer was usually no - so i clicked the box "Dont ask again" and now I need it. Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks!

I had a similar problem. Download a program called "Yamipod" and it will allow to copy the music back into iTunes. I did it with about 5300 songs and it worked fine. Keep in mind the program runs off the iPod, so no installation on the computer is necessary.
