Ipod source pane

I just bought 80GB new ipod, after I installed Itunes 7.0 software and try upload my photos. But I couldn't find ipod source pane which supposed to be at R/H lower corner. But It doesn't show on itune after I pluged in Ipod to computer. also, not show on preferences either. Only way I did I have to click Ipod twice, then pop up Ipod summary. I am not sure if it's normal? Please help me bring these two options back to my itunes. Thank you help.

The summary screen should automatically appear when you connect the iPod to iTunes.
If it doesn't, you should just click on the iPod once (in the source window to the left) and that should make it appear.
" But I couldn't find ipod source pane which supposed to be at R/H lower corner."
Don't know what you mean by this.

  • My iPod won't sync with iTunes, shows in the source pane but can't highlight it

Given an older iPod and downloaded songs last year, now iTunes won't recognize it. It shows in the source pane giving me the option to transfer purchased songs but won't allow me to pick sync. iTunes is version 11.0 while iPod is version 1.3 but I don't know how to update the iPod if iTunes won't recognize it.

If the iPod has not been synced to the Dell computer before, you will most likely have to transfer the purchases to the computer and restore the iPod.

  • IPod not in source pane, wont update

Im having a similar problem like Rebecca's
The iPod shows up in My Comp, has a valid connection, and says do not disconnect, but it isnt in the source pane and wont update. Ive tried resetting it, restoring the COM interface, restarting the comp...everything.

I am having the exact same problem. Has anyone figured out what to do, or is this the point that I should be requesting service?

  • I don't have PHOTO listed in my ITUNES source pane so how do I add photos?

I just installed the ITUNES CD onto my new computer Gateway Windows Vista. I read the manual to install photos and it says to click on IPOD and Photos under my source pane. I don't have listed Ipod or Photos.
Under my source pane are listed:
    Library
    Podcasts
    Videos
    Party Shuffle
    Radio
    Music Store
    (and then my music playlists)
And that's it. So how do I intall photos if I don't see the word Photo to click. I don't have adobe photoshop either.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

First of all as the last poster pointed out, the photos tab is not listed under sources, it's one of the preference tabs that can be viewed when the iPod is connected. Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list. (this will bring up the ipod preferences tabs in the main pane to the right of the source list)
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view. if you want to include full size photos so you can move them from one computer to another check the the "Include Full Resolution photos" box.

  • No Device List /Source Pane

I'm trying to locate the Source Pane on Itunes..
I noticed there isn't a DEVICE list on the left
    side where it should be.
I only have Library, Store and Playlists.
    Can anyone help? Thx.

Devices only appears when you connect an iPod, it's not permanently displayed. If your iPod isn't appearing have a look at this page: iTunes 7 for Windows doesn't recognize iPod

  • I don't see acess to a "Source Pane"

Just bought my first iPod yesterday. Every instruction I read in the support mentions a source pane. I've never seen anything that looks like what they describe. I've been able to drag content from my playlist into my iPod, but now I want to rearrange the order in the iPod. I can't do this because it says I have to have access to the source pane. Why am I not seeing this?

The Source pane is the narrow pane on the left of the iTunes window. If you're able to drag things to your iPod, you're seeing it. The iPod shows up under the heading Devices, right?
The problem might be that you need to click on the little expansion triangle to the left of the iPod's name. Then you'll see everything on the iPod.
    Best of luck.

  • IPod Pref Pane in iTune 7.0.1 Does Not Work - Do I have too many playlists?

I'd love to be able to submit a screen shot of this. When I connect my iPod (4G, 3G and Nano), the iPod Preference Pane pops up. I have 50,000 songs in my iTunes library and about 3,000 playlists so I always use the "selected playlists" option. What happens, though, when I click the Music tab is that the new screnn only partially paints and none of the select or radio buttons work. If I then select a different tab, the text for it is painted on top of the previous tab.
Bottom line is that I can't change which playlists are going to be updated on my iPod. I've sent a note to Apple about this but, so far, no response.

My PC worked great with iTunes 6, does that require Terminal Services?
hmmmm. i only know of this as being an issue with the iTunes 7.0.x versions. (my guess here is that some of the new functionality that comes with 7.0.x requires Terminal Services ... but i have no idea what functions in particular those would be.)
i guess it's plausible that if you've got some disk damage around the dll, that might interfere with the attempts to replace or reregister it.
if you run a chkdsk over your C: does that find/repair any damage? if so, do you get Terminal Services showing up?

  • Cant find albums in source pane

I thought I remembered that in the past when I created an album in iPhoto I could then find that album in the source pane. when I want to find a specific photo to upload (or attach or whatever) I need to find it by going through 2007 then the roll then one of the hundreds of pics in that roll. did apple get rid of the album organization in the source pane or am I totally overlooking something. Thanks for your help. andy

Check out my Post above detailing how to get pics from iPhoto.
You simply never need to get them via the Finder.
If you use Mail, Eudora, AOL or Entourage you can email from within iPhoto.
If you want to upload pics to somewhere - or use Web Mail - simply select the pics you require and go File -> Export and iPhoto will export copies. Want to export a whole album? Select the Album, then apple-a will select all the pics. Export to a folder on the Desktop. Upload from there - and that's much faster than rooting around in the Finder - for a start you're always attaching from the same place. Afterwards, when your upload is done, trash the pics on the desktop, they're only copies.

  • Source Pane is missing

I have used iPhoto on my G4 and was able to save photos into separate albums and sort photos manually. I now have a MacMini as well. The source pane is now not showing on either system. How can I restore the source pane ?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Move the cursor slowly to the extreme left of the iPhoto Window until it becomes a '+'; then click and drag right.

  • Location of the Source Pane columns

I would like to reverse the positions of the Name and Artist columns in the Source Pane. I can change the position of all of the columns except Name and Artist. I am using iTunes on Windows.

Thank you. I will presume that this is for an absolute certainty!

  • Automatic HTMLEditorKit source pane changes

I am using the HTMLEditorKit. When I insert html data that the reader or document does not like it automatically changes the html code. Is there a way to prevent this so that the html code will exactly match what is entered progammatically or what is typed into the source pane? This would solve many problems for me.
    Thanks for any help,
    Steve

Well, maybe sort of possible, kind of. Data Merge is supposed to be able to update after a change to the data file if the merge fields are on the master page, if I remember correctly, but I think it's a little buggy, and you do have to tell ID to do the update.

  • Windows 8.1/ No video preview in timeline, source pane or timeline pane.

I have just recently had to switch to a PC... Coming from Mac.   It has been over 7 years for me and this is my first PC without windows XP.   So... I have an Asus Laptop with an I7 2.5Gz, 8 GB Ram, 2 gig on board video.  Windows 8.1.
Brand new.  Just installed Premiere CC and I cannot get video to preview.  Either in the timeline, the source pane or in the main pane.  Nothing.  Installed QuickTime.  Still nothing.  No formats, MOV, MP4... Nada.
What gives?  Am I missing something?   Even went as far as dumping and re installing.  Classic windows, its broken, get out and get back in thing.
Not the files I am importing, as they work just fine on my Macbook Air.

    Hi,
Does your computer have Intel HD Graphics 4000 or above?
If yes, before importing any media go to File > Project settings > General and change the Video Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine software only and choose 'Delete previews' after clicking OK. Then import your footage and see if you still have the same problem.
    Thanks,
    Rameez

  • Video Preview in Program/Source Pane is Small

    Hello there,
I imported a sequence from FCP7 into Priemere by creating an XML(v5).  My sequence settings and clip settings match, so that's probably not the problem.  I have checked "Fit" and it still shows up pretty small.  However, when I add a new clip (that I also imported from FCP&) to same sequence it is the correct size in the Program and Source Pane.
I have been googling this answer ALL day now.. and can't edit until I fix this! Someone please help!

  • No Source Pane, No Library Preferences

I no longer have a source pane in iphoto. I read previous discussions on this, and discovered that I do not have the com.apple.iphoto.plist in the preference file in the Library folder. Now what do I do? Thanks, J.
    Power PC G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi azcat,
Are you looking in the right Library folder. It would be your Users library folder.
    Before you do that....
Sometimes people can't get that source window open, even when they try to move the dot to the right.
First try to drag the button to show the column as show here
If that doesn't work, then you need to delete the Preference file. That info (size of the source window) is kept in the iPhoto Preference file.
    Quit iPhoto
Open your User folder, then open the Library in your user folder, then open the Preferences in the Library folder.
In the Preference folder is a file called com.apple.iPhoto.plist
For now, drag that file to the desktop. Launch iPhoto and see if the source window is there or if you can open the source window. If you can, that means that Preference file you dragged to the desktop was corrupt. Put it in the trash.
IPhoto made a new one when it was launched. Open iPhoto Preferences and set your preferences again and you are good to go.

  • My ipod does not appear in the source pane

I must have done a big mistake as I have got a windows computer at home but plugged my ipod on my mac computer at work. From that day my ipod got empty. I thought going home and plugging it bac in my laptop the problem would it be fixed, but hasn't worked. I have tried any step available from thesupport site. Install and unistall everything about 100 times. The message that keeps appearing when I plug my ipod nano on my computer is: "ITUNES NO PUEDE LEER EL CONTENIDO DEL "IPOD DE XXX". HAGA CLICK EN RESTAURAR PARA RESTAURAR LOS AJUSTES DE FÁBRICA DEL IPOD", which it means I should restore to the factory setting, but once I tried to do it, on one of the steps takes from granteed that my Ipod appears on the soure pane of ITUNES, which it does not ever happen. I have found my Ipod file on the windows system and followed all the steps on that issue, but there has not been any kind of result. I have tried the menu in my ipod to restore it from itself but does not work..well, I have tried anything available from the advices from apple(have spent more than 4 hours on it) but can't get my ITUNES to recognice anything. By the way, I have aslo uninstalled my IPOD and with the CDroom, tryied to installed the whole thing again,..but nothinggg. GOt I tunes version 7. Any advice will be very helpful as I cannot stand going to work on the bus for an hour without my music...and Cannot afford another IPOD at the mo..
    Thanks in advanced.

I have a very similar problem but I have done the 5 Rs and more---multiple times--and my iPOD and iTunes are just stuck in an endless cycle of Restore and Restart but rather than showing up in the source panel so I can put my music back on, the icon appears and tells me to restore again. I did everything including checking my USB ports etc. in My Computer and my iPOD refuses to get out of this cycle when iTUNES does bother to recognize it. Any suggestions other than the 5 Rs---because they are doing absolutely nothing.
