IPod starts playing album on the SECOND song

hey all,
this isn't a totally consistent problem, but quite frequently, my 4th generation iPod (non-video) will start playing albums at the SECOND song, forcing me to skip back to the first song to hear the album from the beginning. has anyone else had this problem? it has NOT improved with any iPod Updates. any suggestions for a fix? it's not a huge problem, but would be nice to not have to deal with it. thanx a bunch!

IPod starts playing when I unplug something from the headphone jack

Greetings,
I use Internet radio apps like Pandora and Live365. Often, when I stop the app and unplug the audio cable or earbuds, the iPod app will start playing the very first song (alphabetically speaking) in its library. At full volume, no less. So, I have to quickly hit the iPod button to bring it up, and then hit stop.
It doesn't happen every time, and I can't figure out if there is a particular sequence of events that triggers it, or if it's just random. Anyone else experience this?

Due to various hardware issues, I'm on my 4th phone.
Each and every one has displayed this same "unplug and spill one's audio secrets" behavior, usually with incredibly annoying, embarrassing (I have weird, rather personal music tastes, never mind my preference in Podcasts), and potentially battery-draining results (if I leave the phone on my desk and attend a meeting for, say, an hour).
I've "reset" the phone/s (for this and other reasons) and this "feature" of the iPod turning on when I unplug the ear buds has persisted.
I have third-party earbuds (but it happened during all the time I used the Apple ear buds, too). They're the "Ultimate Ears MetroFi 200v" set; they sound great, but the "talk" button is not nearly as cleverly placed as with Apple's (it's too low-- near my belly-button-- and it also protrudes considerably).
The catch-22 for me is that if I just wrap my earbuds around the phone and shove it in my pocket, the button will activate at some point, and I'll find that the iPod has been playing for an hour... if I just yank the buds out (like I WANT to, and ought to be able to), the iPod starts playing, usually at the the loudest volume (leftover from whatever onion-chopping or laundry-folding activity saw me last listening to the phone out loud).
So, it's a bad feature. No option (that I can see) to disable it. A glitch? From Apple? C'mon... all FOUR of my phones have been otherwise perfect, lol...
Sorry for the long rant wherein I didn't even suggest any possible fixes. I'm just glad to have found others experiencing this problem, and glad that I am not the only one who hasn't found a solution.

Yes, first try deleing both songs.
If still problem
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, ,make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I down loaded an album and the first song is blank.

I downloaded an album and the first song is blank. It looks like it is playing, but there is nothing there. I don't loaded another song and it does not even attempt to play. It just skips over this song. I am afraid to buy anything else until i get this fixed. What is wrong and how can i fix this?

HT1351 why when i sync songs it stops at the second song but appears to carry on?

when i try syncing songs from my itunes installed in a PC with Windows 7 to my ipod classic 160GB, the status bar shows it carries on synchronizing but it appears to be stuck in the second song. Each time i try it's a different song. I've already tried reinstalling itunes, reseting the ipod, restoring the ipod, everything but still can't sync songs.

It's the 1st version of Pages I've had on my computer.
Can't delete them as they scroll through them at a rapid pace. The longer I've had the problem the more blank pages it scrolls through.

When using genius playlists my music player is stuck on repeat all. It gets to the second song and then repeats it 'ad infinitum'

If I select a genius mix, the player will play the first song and then progress to a second. It then 'sticks' on the second song and repeats it over and over. I have tried to switch off the repeat function but it will not respond and stays on 'repeat all'. I have tried different genius lists and updated the software to 8.12

I have a similar problem.
"Repeat Playlist" is stuck. The button action shows all three options (Repeat Off|Repeat Song|Repeat Playlist) and Cancel, but tapping any doesn't change the status from "Repeat Playlist". Very annoying.
Additionally, "Shuffle" is completely unresponsive. This is on an iPhone 6 Plus running the latest iOS 8.13 (12B466).
Happy to hear this is happening on 8.12 as well. Okay, not "happy" but you know what I mean...

Yes.
The album which the song has been listed under (on the song's page) is listed in your library under that album. The song is then removed automatically from the first album

Purchasing a new song or album will not affect any other song or album in your library.
In the case of the two albums you mention, if you purchase them both, you will have the same song (different copies) in both albums.

For some reason when I play my Imovie the second half of the movie's sound just stops working and I can't hear anything. It was working before but now it isn't and I don't know what to do.

When I was putting together an Imovie I put music in the background and it played fine in the beginning but now when I watch it the first half of the movie plays music while the second half is silent even though I put music there as i did with the first half. If different albums have the same song and I delete the duplicates what happen with the albums that should have that song, does it refrence back to the the song that was not deleted.

Indeed, a song can only appear in one album.
To check your library for duplicates use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. Keep holding down shift until you have clicked on the text Show Exact Duplicates or it may still use the loser definition.
If you find that you have true duplicates you need to manually select all but one of each group to remove, or use my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. The script attempts to take account of different types of duplicates which need to be handled differently, merges playcounts and preserves playlist membership. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background.

There are users reporting the process being stuck and it might have to do with apple turning on match to other countries today.
Have you tried turning match off and letting it remove all none downloaded songs and then turning match back on to see if it fixes it?
Sometimes turn match off and then back on fixes some things, but not always.
Especially if it is working on your other devices, it has to be with the one your trying to get the song downloaded onto.

The computer is picking up the signal from the remote. Go into system preferences - security - general. Click the padlock and go into advanced. Check disable remote control infrared receiver.
