IPod stolen, no receipt

Hello, my iPod was recently stolen and I can't find the receipt.
But someone on another forum suggested that I could get the Apple Registration info to show the date and serial number to my insurance company.
Only one problem: How to contact Apple to find out.
I have spent 20 minutes looking for ANY contact info which might be relevant, but Apple do not give out any email addresses or have email forms online that I can find. (So much for customer "service")
Does anyone know how I can get Apple to cough up my info? ( MY info! )
ALSO--- Do I need to "De-authorize" the stolen iPod ?
Thanks.

The "upload last connected iPod's seriral number" option on that page worked for me, thanls. The serial number will help...
Now, can anyone tell me how to get an official response from Apple about the registration date and info, etc ?
Thanks.

No. If you had configured Find My Phone in icloud.com, then you can lock it or erase it, but you cannot recover data from it.
There probably are third-party utilities that might be able to extract data from the backup file itself. Look for them at MacUpdate.

  • Top Five Reasons on how to not get your iPod Stolen In N.Y.C.

Ok Im doing this because you constantly hear about ppl getting robbed for their iPods, well here's how not to.
    5. Keep Your iPod Out Of Sight!
Listen to your Inner Voice if you feel Like someone's watching you Leave The iPod hidden.
    4. Keep the Volume at a normal Level!
Listening To Loud Music is a sure fire way of getting stripped of your iPod, **** If you hear some one blasting Music in their ears it's a sign that they have a kind of portable Mp3 player, Cd players and cassette players volume doesn't go as loud as an iPod Does.
    3. Don't carry your iPod in Plain Sight!
    2. Save the Video's for other places!
Watching the latest Video or Movie on your iPod on The Ferry ,A train, Bus or in a Train or Ferry Terminal is a sure way to end up with out your iPod.
And the Number One reason on how to not get your iPod stolen In N.Y.C.
    1. Change the dayum Headphones you idiot!
The Typical iPod Headphones are a dead give away that you have an iPod so What if you feel like you have "Status" Now that you have an iPod keep wearing the iPod headphones and your gonna lose that "Status" Symbol, I Use a Cheap brand of Headphones that sound better the the apple headphones and I travel to the City a Lot my iPod stays out of Sight and I don't have no problems with ppl trying to steal it.
    So now Who's Smarter?

    wooHoo! yes! common sense people.
you know that anyone who's had their ipod stolen has done these things.
as added protection I have long hair so I use a headset without a band. and you can't tell I'm using headphones.
and aren't apple earbuds just awful.

  • I got my ipod stolen how do i make it so no one is able to use it

i got my ipod stolen and i needa make it so it cant be used

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  Something as small as an iPod should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • HT2452 My iMac was stolen the receipt doesn't have the serial number but I did register the computer when I purchased it how do I get the serial number

My iMac was stolen the receipt doesn't have the serial number but I did register the computer so Aplle must have a record of it. How do I get it.

Go to the Apple website and your support profile. It should list that iMac and the serial number for it. You'll need your Apple ID and password for that Apple ID.

how so i report my ipod stolen without having the serial number?

The easiest way to find your serial number is this Open Itunes...click help... run diagnostics.....(tick or untick as necessary) so that you just have ticked the last two, device connectivity and device sync. run these tests. it will say no ipod/ipad found but will give results of test....scroll down to bottom of results... here you will find the serial number of your last attached devices.

What is the exact error iTunes is giving you?  What happens if you do a restore of the device? This will wipe all data from the iPod and reset it to factory settings as well as load a fresh copy of the iPod's firmware onto the device. This should help rule out any sort of software issues/glitches with the iPod.

  • I just got my ipod stolen, I requested to do a remote lock. I got the email that it got locked, meaning they connected to the internet. Can I see where they got connected?

I just got my ipod stolen, I requested to do a remote lock. I got the email that it got locked, meaning they connected to the internet. Can I see where they got connected?

Since the lock was successful, the dirtbag who stole it will not be able to do anything with the iPod until it is restored as new. Of course that means you will no longer be able to locate it.
Its last location may be reported, if the WiFi location it used to connect was known.

  • I had my ipod stolen:(  I am considering getting IPAD 2  , can I attach the IPAD to the external speakers $$ for listening to music?

I had my IPOD stolen   I am considering IPAD 2, am I able to use the "dock"  external speakers $$ with it???

We'd need to know specifically what "dock speakers" you have before anyone could offer information or opinions. I'd suggest just contacting the maker of those dock speakers and asking them. They'll be in the best position to say whether or not their product is compatible with the iPad 2.

  • How do I get entire library onto new computer without old ipod (stolen) or old computer (died)? When I plugged in my new ipod 5th gen, it only synced purchases.

How do I get entire library onto new computer without old ipod (stolen) or old computer (died)?  I just bought an ipod 5th gen and when I plugged it in, it only synced purchases.

You restore the media to your new computer using the backup you made of your old computer before it died. You did backup your computer, right?

  • Just got my ipod stolen and now I have changed all my passwords assigned to that ipod, can the person who stole it see my updated emails?

Just got my ipod stolen and now I have changed all my passwords assigned to that ipod, can the person who stole it still see my updated emails and also can they see my facebook, although I changed the password to that too.

If you changed your facebook password they will not be able to login to your Facebook account.
Of course, other Facebook users may be able to see some of Facebook information depending upon how you have your privacy settings configured.

How to find a stolen divise? my ipod was stolen from my child's chool.

    As per Apple's webpage:
"Contact your local law enforcement agency to report your lost or stolen iOS device. Apple does not have a process to track or flag lost or stolen products, but you can use My Support Profile (supportprofile.apple.com) to find a list of serial numbers for products that you've purchased or registered with your Apple ID."
