Ipod stops during some songs

When I play some songs, like about 5 or 6 songs, they stop in the middle of the song, and move on to the next. Is there something I can do about this problem?
please help!

Well, as anyone would say, you should first update your iPod to the latest software ( now 2.0.2 ). Also you should consider re-downloading those songs.
Hope this helps,
Darie.

  • Ipod stops on some songs then restarts after 3 seconds?

Hi, im having a problem with my ipod, during a song the ipod sound fails, like its on pause, then it re starts again after a few seconds, does anyone know what the problem is?, ive already re set it a couple of time.
    cheers tim

Hi, tell us more about the file format of the concerned audio files.
If it is big and not much compressed, and the iPod can't buffer the whole thing in its RAM, some lags can be heared, (IE: a 30min Aiff).
Not experienced it yet on my 5thGen, but on my 10GB FW, with a ~4h Aiff.

  • IPod stopped playing some songs

Hi, I've found references to similar problems but am not certain if it's the same thing. My iPod (60GB w/video) used to play everything just fine. Recently I plugged it in for an update with the "Hold" button on without realizing it. It seemed to update fine, but since then certain songs won't play and I don't understand why.
My main question is, is it possible to tell iTunes to reload all songs, or do I have to determine which of my 8000 songs won't play, delete them, and reload them? That would be something of a chore. Alternatively, is there a soft that is able to check songs on an iPod to see if they're okay, then reload them if not?
Thanks for any help. Y'all seem to know what you're doing, as I do not.

You can use the ipod updater to "restore" your ipod to the factory settings. Then reload everything. If your ipod is set to disk use, make sure everything is backed up, as it will be lost.
I use "Tune Tech" by prosoft engineering to help manage my ipod.

  • How do you get your album's songs to stay together when you put them on your ipod/iphone, when some songs have a ft. artist?

How do you get your album's songs to stay together when you put them on your ipod/iphone, when some songs have a ft. artist?
Even when I try to change the featured artist in my I tunes, it won't stay with my other songs, and I want to be able to listen to my album in the order of the songs that the album has it.

The iTunes/iPod software isn't set up to let you sync songs from more than one libray, but if you manually manage the iPod you can add tracks from multiple computers without removing the existing content. Personnaly I think syncing with a library is a much better way to manage your iPod, so I'd suggest you just copy the stuff you bought at work onto a memory stick, then take it home and import it into your iTunes library there.

  • IPod Nano (2nd generation) stops playing some songs after 30-60 seconds

I purchased a 2nd generation 2 GB iPod Nano last week (03/13/07) and experienced problem with some songs stopping after 30-60 seconds and then skipping to the next song.
The songs in question were downloaded in Mp3 format from a CD and they play fine and in their entirity from the iTunes library.
I tried the 5Rs but with no success. Thinking the iPod Nano was defective, I exchanged it today (03/16/07) however, the same problem persists and with the same songs.
I tried compressing the songs but that made matters worse, i.e., the play duration shortened and/or the songs didn't play at all.
Is this an iPod Nano issue or a problem with certain songs? Given that the identical problem exists with two brand new units, I suspect the latter but I don't know what to do.
The songs are not "read only" or "origin-protected".
    Appreciate any assist.
    Thanks.

I've experienced the same problem with some songs that will start playing for few seconds but then skip to the next song. This is with songs I've ripped from CDs and transferred from an old computer. I've tried the 5 R's, repeatedly. It does not help. Is there anyway to fix this other than deleting the songs from my computer and re-downloading from CD's? I've got over 1,800 songs on my iPod and really don't want to go through each one to figure out which I need to reload.

  • Ipod doesnt play some songs

now whenever i play my ipod and select a song to play it just skips onto another song even though it used to play it fine the other day. it even skips songs belonging to a whole album and i have not changed any settings or anything! help pls!

I don't know if my problem/solution will help in your case, but yesterday I purchased an album on itunes, and although it downloaded and played on itunes just fine, when it sync'd to my 60GB ipod, only some of the songs played. I tried restoring the ipod, but that did not solve the problem. So, while waiting to hear back from tech support, I decided to delete the entire album from both the music listing and the purchased music listing AFTER burning a CD (and making sure it was a good burn). I did a sync to make sure the listing was removed from the ipod, then imported the newly burned CD, did another sync, and voila! all the songs on the album now play without any skipping. Hopefully this will work with your problem (unless you're experiencing skipping on all your albums)

  • BMW iPod Touch interface: some songs start mid way but not all.

Hi, I upgraded from an iPod Classic to an iPod touch 4th generration and since doing so some (not all) songs will start at various points in the song when connected to my BMW iPod interface cable, eg 3:20 into a song, then another one may start 10 secs into a song etc. Some songs start at the begininning. This never happened with the Classic.
    Any ideas please ?

The classic most likely it was working using and over version of the itunes software, the new iPod you have is using a newer version  of the aple software, there are 2 solutions, downgrade the software on the new device
or see if there is any update for the iPod interface in your vehicle, some can be remove out of the vehicle and
plug into a computer using a usb cable

  • My ipod stops after afew songs during shuffles

Since updating to the 1.2 firmware, my 60GB ipod will stop after 20-30 songs, show the Apple logo and then return to the menu. Is this a problem others are experiencing? Can it be rectified because it's hugely annoying and frustrating.

  • Ipod shuffle stop during loading songs

It is quietly disappointing that i already tried numerous pcs with windows xp os,but synching ipod to itunes is definitely a sacrifice,i almost spent 1 month in finding solutions regarding this problem,i already tried several forums on the net,i already updated, restored my ipod shuffle to 1.1 and installed the latest i-tunes.I know i did everything they told me to do so,the biggest problem is when transfering songs to my ipod,at first the ipod detected by itunes but when you (autofill songs},drag and drop}loading stops in the middle of transfering songs and suprisingly 3 songs only transfered from my 100songs and the ipod came undetected,so you need to re plugged the ipod again and load 3 songs again. I already did this many times, please advice the best thing to do coz i think re plugging ipod to usb will lessen my battery life

you can try exchanging your Shuffle if you think it has a hardware problem:
    http://depot.info.apple.com/ipodshuffle
It sounds like a conflict with other software, possibly a driver or a network conflict. Check the driver letter assigned to the Shuffle and make sure it is not conflicting with network drive letters.

  • ITunes 10.5 Stops Playing Some songs mid-song and skips to the next

I migrated a friend’s iTunes library from a Win Vistamachine to Windows 7 Home Premium. Not sure what version of iTunes he had onthe Vista setup, but it’s 10.5.1 on the new machine. In the process, I backedup the sizable (6,000+ songs) iTunes library to an external hard drive, andrestored it to the new Win7 machine.
Now about 10% of his songs will start playing and at randomtimes, will skip to the next song without completing.
I found a fix, but it’s pretty tedious – there’s got to be abetter way to fix this.  Here are thesteps when a song stops playing and jumps to the next:
    Locate     the song in Windows.
Copy     it to the desktop (or another safe spot)
Delete     the song from iTunes, selecting the option to remove it from the hard     drive.
Cut     the song from the desktop and paste it back in the folder where it came     from
In     iTunes:  File>Add Folder to     Library… Navigate to the folder and add it.
Once the song is added back to the library, it plays justfine.
This solution works for identified files. However, with6,000+ songs in a library and no way to determine which files are affected on amacro level, this really is not a solution.
There is no noticeable pattern. This seems to happen toabout 10% of the files in the library. One particular song (Foo Fighters:  The Pretender) was duplicated on the harddrive and in the iTunes library.  BOTHversions of the song stop playing with 0:21 remaining and skip to the nextsong.  However, another song in thelibrary stops playing at 1:01.
Some of the troubled files are .m4p, some are .mp3. Thefiles themselves are not corrupted.  Itested several in QuickTime and they played to the end. Additionally, as shownabove, when they are deleted from the library and restored they play just fine.
I have deleted the com.apple.iTunes.plist as suggested inother articles, but this did not help.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • IPod Touch skipping some songs

    Hi there,
I bought an 8GB iPod Touch, synched all my music library of about 500 songs; and now I see that when I'm playing my songs random, a few songs play until some part (the middle of the song usually) and then stops playing abruptly and goes to the next song. If I delete the song in my iPod and re-sync it again then the song plays OK so I don't think this problem is related to the song itself.
How can I fix this problem? Is this a firmware or iPod hardware problem?
    Thanks and regards,
    Mauricio

    I had a similar problem,
Many PC users have solved this problem by adding a new PCI Card to their PC that adds a new set of USB ports. Then re-sync the entire iPod using the NEW usb port.
There seems to be a transfer problem with some onboard USB ports. (the USB ports that came with your computer) - when you use an 'add-on' USB port, the problem goes away.
Whether this is an Apple or a PC problem - I'll leave that up for speculation.

  • I bought my friend's old ipod, she wants some songs back but they won't show up on iTunes. How do i get them back?

My friend upgraded to a touch and in turn gave me her old classic. She put a whole bunch of music on there from different cd's but after seeing what she still had on it she realized she lost some of those songs on her computer. I tried to get them off with the transfering puchased music, but they won't come off! She bought this music fair in square and would like to have them back. How in the world do i get them back to her?

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases.
As the songs came from her computer in the first place, so they should still be there and should be included in her regular backup copy of her computer.
You need to restore the ipod, erasing all of the music as you have no legal right to it.

  • My iPod nano skips some songs for no apparent reason

When i try to play songs on my iPod nano 7th gen, it skips some of them without playing.
The album art and track name shows up for a split-second and then it goes to the next track. Sometimes it skips several tracks by the same artist at a stretch. The songs the ipod keeps skipping play perfectly on iTunes. I tried erasing all the songs and sopying them again, but it didn't solve the problem. (I haven't tried restoring the ipod yet)

    Hi there,
You may want to check and see if the shake to shuffle feature is enabled. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • My itunes library has everything by artist name, yet when i sync my ipod to it, some songs are only visible in the song menu but not the artist menu, how do i fix this problem so that evry song is visible under the artist menu in my ipod

I bought an ipod classic and got it 2day. I have over 18000 songs on my itunes and all the songs have all the correct info. I tried syncing my ipod today and all of the songs have gone onto my ipod.
However my problem is that quite a few songs are not in the artist menu and only in the songs menu on the ipod, even though evry bit of information for the song is correct.
I would like all my songs under the artist menu on my ipod as searching through the song menu is ridiculously time consuming.
    Can anyone fix my problem?

For the missing Artists on your iPod, make sure their tracks in iTunes are not marked as "Part of a compilation" in iTunes. You can do this by highlighting the track, right->clicking on them and choosing "Get Info" from the shortcut menu. When the window pops up, head over to the Info tab and make sure there is NO tick mark next to this option in the lower right hand corner. Lastly, sync the updated changes to your iPod.

  • Ipod not showing some songs

so i got a 30 gig ipod today and loaded all my music through itunes. i'm starting to notice that for certain artists i'm not able to access all of the music i've loaded. it appears that if i only have music from one album loaded for a given artist, the ipod automatically takes me to that album view when i select the artist. the problem is if i have other tracks for that artist for which i haven't specified an album, it still skips directly to that album view. so the other tracks are effectively hidden. if i browse the ipod through itunes, i can see that these tracks are actually loaded. is anyone else having this problem?

I'm having the same problem with my 60GB. The couple songs that have an album listed show up, but none of the songs by the same artist that don't have an album listed. It just skips right past those to the album list, without the 'All' option. I can get to the songs with no album spec'ed through the Music...Songs...menus, but I always browse by Artist. Now it seems I can't. Anyone have any ideas?
