IPod stuck in Lock mode...Help!

My iPod is stuck on the screen Lock, where you have to enter the 4 digit number. I know what my password is, but it wont unlock. WHen i press the center button, it doesnt accept it. it doesnt say that it is wrong, either.I tried to reset it while in lock, but it wont work either. Basically, the center button doesnt work. please help!!!!

Hook it up to the computer and it automaticly unlocks. If the center button doesen't work restore it's factory settings.

  • Ipod Stuck in Recovery mode help!!!

my ipod was fine, working brilliantly, tll a few days ago, it had a white screen, that said "connect to computer and restore in itunes" in many different languages. so i did, but itunes didn't pick up my ipod. so forced it into disk mode, and itunes recgognised it, and the message "Itunes as detected an ipod in recovery mode, you must restore this Ipod before it can be used with itunes" came up. so having restored it, i reconnected it, and the whole thing repeated itself, now my ipod maybe stuck in recovery mode, as every time i restore and connect, the same message comes up... HELP!!!
    thanks

Sorry, must pay more attention to the profiles:>) Unfortunately that link is the only one I know of that refers to the recovery mode problem. I'll have another dig around and if I find anything else I'll let you know. The only other thing I can think of is to run Disk Utility repair on your iPod and see if that helps. It's a shot in the dark I'm afraid.
Set up iTunes "not" to open when you connect the iPod.
Enable Disk Use on the iPod
Eject the iPod and shut down iTunes
Reconnect the iPod and open Disk Utility
Click on your iPod in the Utility pane and choose Repair Disk.
Close Disk Utility and open iTunes.

  • IPod stuck on lock PLEASE HELP!!

i have owned a ipod for a long time and i know about the reseting and everything else. but now my ipod is stuck on lock. ill move the hold button back and fourth and it wont unlock. ive tryed reseting it and formating it and nothing will work. can anyone help me Please.

You may need to reset it. Put the hold switch to the OFF/White position. Now toggle it ON/orange then back off again. Then press and hold both the MENU and center buttons on the iPod and hold them for a good 10 seconds or so. Your iPod should reboot starting with the Apple Logo screen.
Despite the hold lock symbol staying on the screen, switching the hold switch will still register to the iPod if it isn't the hold switch itself that is broken.
Repeat the reset process a second time, holding the bottons longer, if it doesn't go the first time. Sometimes it can take a few tries.

  • Ipod stuck in lock mode and won't connect to Windows computer

My Ipod is stuck on the lock position and won't connect to my computer when I plug it in. The hold switch moves back and forth just fine and it was working perfectly yesterday. It's the classic nano that's square. It's stuck on a song that I used as my alarm yesterday morning. I haven't turned it on since then and when I pushed the on switch, it went to the screen but then wouldn't do anything else. I've tried to hold down the menu and middle button while moving the hold switch, but it didn't work. Please help!

I fixed it! I had to switch the hold button from on to off to on again and then held the menu and middle button down at the same time. It works just fine now!

  • Ipod is stuck in lock mode

Do you know how to restart an old Ipod because my ipod is stuck in lock mode.

Does "lock mode" mean your iPod's buttons do not work, or does it mean you need to enter a code on a screen?

  • 160GB iPod classic stuck in lock mode

My 160gb iPod classic is stuck in lock mode.
The lock switch is off and the iPod itself is still "locked"
Is there any way i can fix this? it seems like there's a glitch with the lock but it moves smoothly and doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it
Yet the iPod is still locked
should I take it to the apple store?

If none of the 5 R's are able to resolve the issue, it's likely a hardware issue, meaning you'll need to have the iPod serviced/replaced either by Apple or a third party service.

  • Stuck on Lock mode

I've tried resetting it, I've held the buttons down, I've let it empty its battery (I left it alone for more than 42 hours, but there's no way for me to tell if it died), but it's still stuck on Locked mode. Not Screen Lock, though. It's really frustrating.
I've toggled the Hold switch and it appears fine other than being locked. It uploads into iTunes, which I have the newest version of, and I can update it and stuff, it just is locked and I can't get into it.
    Please help!

4th Gen IPod stuck in recovery mode, how do I reset or restore?

Connect it to iTunes.  If iTunes doesn't see the iPod, try manually connecting the device to iTunes in recovery mode using the instructions in this Apple support document.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod touch is stuck in recovery mode, help?

A few hours ago, I tried updating my 5th generation iPod touch to iOS 8. It ran into an error and couldn't update, which left my iPod touch stuck in recovery mode with a screen showing a USB cord pointing to an iTunes symbol. I tried searching for ways to get my iPod out of recovery mode without restoring it to its factory settings, but after a couple hours of seeking, I decided I might as well just restore it. I clicked the restore button, and when it finished, it said that my iPod touch couldn't be restored either. Now, I have no clue what to do. May I have some help?

    That error is covered here:

  • Ipod touch 5g stuck on headphone mode help

my  little brother ipod is stuck on headphones mode n the music wont play at all but in ringtones it shows the ringtone on speaker but other then that the music wont play outloud or siri wont talk nothingg help me please what do i do to fix this?????

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
