Ipod sync causes causes error messages or system to reboot.

I have a 30gb vid. When syncing with itunes it will give the unknown problem encountered program ending. Send message to microsoft. I have stuffed there inbox. Or my screen will go black and my computer starts to reboot. It will not reboot until I unplug my ipod.
I running windows media center. It has service pack 2 on it. I have detached all my usb stuff and tried running just the ipod same problem. I have 6 different usb port and I tried them all no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software on my machine. I did a restore to the ipod a couple of times. Nothing has helped.
I ended all my excess pc apps. virus scanners and disabled the windows firewall still nothing. I went into bios and checked all my usb setting there. Nothing was out of line there. Not a lot of options to start with.
Anyone have any ideas? I giving it the weekend. If I have no success its going back to the store.

okay, we'll have to wait to see if the blue screen shows up.
if the PC isn't rebooting with the ipod connected, we'd better also check on this possibility:
Windows PC does not start up when iPod is connected
in the meantime, we'll set the PC to capture crash logs from the "itunes has ..." message, and minidumps from the blue screens (if you get any).
1. crash logs for the "itunes has ..." message
we'll get a crash log from itunes, and send it to so someone who can interpret crash logs.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
drwtsn32 -i
And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log"
prior to collecting the itunes crash log, delete any existing crash logs in there. (we want to make sure we send the correct crash log.)
generate the crash, collect the crash log, and send it to this email address
in the email:
(1) state the precise version number of itunes that you're using. (go into your "Help > About iTunes" to doublecheck.)
(2) include the URL to this thread so that the person who gets the email has some context, but also give as much information about the context of the crashing as you can.
2. minidumps from blue screens
To set up your machine to capture a minidump, right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", select the "Advanced" tab, select the "Startup and Recovery" Settings button, select "small memory dump" from the popup. When it crashes, look for the MiniDump file. It's usually in the folder "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump" and is called something like Mini<number>-<number>.dmp.
collect the minidump, and send it to this email address
in the email, include the URL to this thread so that the person who gets the email has some context, but also give as much information about the context of the crashing as you can.

did recent recommended update cause incompatibility with HP printer, causing error message and printer to print blank pages?

Why not contact HP tech support for assistance since they make the printer. While on their site you can look for an updated printer driver. Otherwise, try deleting the current installed driver, reset the print system, then reinstall your printer's driver.

  • New ipod not syncing to library - error message -69?

Just bought new ipod and it begins to sync with my existing library, but once it gets to the "K"'s it says it can't sync a particular song and then only syncs a tiny fraction of what it was syncing before the error message.
I thought it was a particular problem with the song, so I deleted the song. Then I deleted an entire artist. Then it had the same issue with the next artist in line alphabetically.
    Help!

The message is saying that iTunes can find the file for  "Stuff you need to know part 3" can't be found.  Does (what ever it is, a song? podcast or what) play in iTunes?  Try deleting and redownloading.

  • The NLS operation failed because the registry key Control Panel\International\User Profile cannot be opened. Error code is 2. Error message: The system cannot find the file specified.

    H,
Since upgrading Windows server 2008 R2 to Server 2012 Standard edition, we get this repetitious critical error in the event log:
    Event 1001
    Op Code NLS initialization
The NLS operation failed because the registry key Control Panel\International\User Profile cannot be opened. Error code is 2. Error message: The system cannot find the file specified.
We originally found that the regional date settings after changing them in regional settings (DD/MM/YYYY) and they did not inherit properly from the upgrade but they are ok now.
I've looked at HKCU\.Default\Control Panel\International and nothing looks obviously wrong. Country codes, time & date formats are correct.
How do we ascertain the  cause of this error and the specific registry key that might be problematic?

    Hi,
This could be caused by firewall rules or security softwares.

  • I get an error message saying "system overload, the audio engine was not able to process all the required data in time (10011)

i get an error message saying "system overload, the audio engine was not able to process all the required data in time (10011)

The thing is, that error message has been appearing when playing/recording a track that was running perfectly a few minutes ago and nothing has changed!
That can mean, that your project is too ambitious for your Mac. Are you using many complicated automations on that track?
4GB memory is not much, when doing audio processing. GarageBand will need all memory it can get, or will be forced to continually swap pages to your disk, to free RAM, and that can cause this error.
When this error occurs, it is best to restart the computer. This will free your RAM. Close all other applications that are competing for memory, i.e. other multimedia applications, and Safari.
Also, make sure, that you have plenty of free disk space. Don't let the free disk space drop below 20G.
Where is your project located? On an external drive or your internal drive? If it is on an external drive, connect this drive directly, not daisy-chained, or move the project to your internal drive.
I got up to eat, came back and tried to continue but GarageBand shuts down and displays that message every time I try to run the song. I've also recently run songs with several more tracks than this one and they worked perfectly. Any tips?
Are your other projects, that worked perfectly, still working?

  • When I update my nano ipod I get an error message "User ipod cannot be updated.  The disk couldnot be read from or written to."   How can I overcome this error message.

In the iTunes window, when I update my nano ipod, I get an error message "User ipod cannot be updated.  The disk could not be read from or written to."   How can I overcome this error message.

    Hello there dilip77707,
It sounds like you are getting this error message that your iPod cannot be read from or written to when you are trying to update your iPod Nano. I recommend the troubleshooting from the following article to help you get that resolved. Its pretty straight forward, just start at the top and work your way down as needed:
'Disk cannot be read from or written to' when syncing iPod or 'Firmware update failure' error when updating or restoring iPod

  • Ipod nano 4th gen error message -208

I bought and downloaded a movie from the istore but when I try to sync it to my ipod I get an error message "unable to sync-unknown error 208". My music and photos sync really well and this is the first time I've tried to buy and sync a movie.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi,
Can you play the movie in iTunes? If the movie cannot play in iTunes it will not sync to the iPod.
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes, currently 8.0.2. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Also , make sure you have the latest version of iPod software, which is currently 1.0.3. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1483 will walk you through updating the iPod.
If the issue persists after updating the software, try deleting the iPod photo Cache. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314 provides more details about the folder and its location.

  • Help! my windows PC with Vista will not dowload itunes 10.7.  It gives me an error message: Your system has not been modified

Help! my windows PC with Vista will not dowload itunes 10.7.  It gives me an error message: Your system has not been modified.I
I have tried unistalling the current version I had which was 10.6.3, defragging and running a security scan. Now, the highest version I can get is 10.4.1. for some reason I cannot dowload itunes 10.5 or higher as it gives me the same message which is what I need to connect and update my iphone.  Anyone facing the same issue or can point me in the right direction?

You may get better information on that error message by reposting in the iPhone forums:
    iPhone
It's also possible that newer iPhone updates want an OS higher than Tiger. Post the specs of your computer and we can see if an OS upgrade is possible. There are a large number of G4 variants with different capabilities, so giving us something more than  just "G4" will get you help faster.

  • I keep getting an error message re: System Extensions

Almost every time that I run Software Update or when Norton runs its automatically scheduled scan, I keep getting an error message saying, "System extension cannot be used. The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/IomegaSAM.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update." I've also been having problems with Safari, in that when I've had a browser window open for a while and use it to go to different websites, etc., after I've gone to 2 or 3 websites it will then act like it's "stuck" and it won't do anything else until I close the window, quit out of Safari, and start it up again. Then it will be fine and work for a while, until it does the same thing...again.
Are these items somehow related, and how do I fix this?

    Hi,
I built my website with iWeb, but when I want to publish it on my own domain (not .mac) I've always this error message (the system cannot find the specified file) with many files. I've tryed many ftp host but I still have the same problem. I ask my host domain manager and everything is ok with them. Si I guess that the problem comes from iWeb.
    Please help me.
    Thanks

I get the error: Cannot Copy 08 the curse in on my house: Cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name.
The song "the curse in on..." is on the "into the woods" soundtrack. I deleted the entire soundtrack from my iTunes Library, shut down and tried again. Same error. I did a search of all three hd (2 external and c) nothing found. I searched for song name and "into the woods" I even searched for the artist "Nicholas Parson Company" nothing on any of the 3 HDs. I also went into explorer and manually searched for the song under soundtracks, misc, various and I could not find it. I consolidated my library and restarted. I tried again and same error message. Can a level 4 or 5 offer any help. I am at a loss...
The error won't let me copy one library to another HD.
