You can sync your iPod with multiple computers, but what can be synced is very limited.  See this article for more details.

  • Ipod Touch error 13019

Hi, can anyone help please?? My daughter has an 8gb 2nd generation iPod Touch and out of the blue, I have the error message stating it could not sync error 13019.
I have looked all over the internet and tried various solutions that other people have had with this, including full restore, deleting iTunes and re-loading it, syncing without music and then again with music and deleting the option for voice...nothing works.
I am operating on Windows Vista and all other iPods we own seem to be working and syncing fine.
I have tried the apple express support and it hasn't worked...they suggested the full removal of iTunes and hours later...and a full re-load, it still didn't work!
If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it as it would save me a 40 mile drive to my nearest Apple store.
    Many thanks,
    Steve.

From your statements above, it sounds like you never tried to burn a CD for at least the first year that you owned the laptop, as it had a one year warranty on it. While you might have used it frequently to install software,  play DVDs, Blu-Ray disks, etc, that's unclear from your statements. Nonetheless, it might just be dirty-dusty. So, before deleting-uninstalling any software, and given they're cheap, try a CD-DVD Cleaner Disk first and see if that resolves your problems.
Let us know what happens. Good luck.

  • 5th Gen iPod Sync Error -48.  Please help.

I get a 5th Gen iPod Sync Error -48 on my iPod.. I get this both on my laptop and my desktop computer. I do not automatically put music on my iPod but when I try to add or delete things it does not keep the change after I disconnect.
I cannot restore my iPod as most files I am not able to recover.
I am running XP and both are COMPAQ.

  • IPod touch cannot be synced error 13019. What do I do?

I manually manage all songs and info on the ipod touch. Nothing is selected to sync automatically. I have no voice notes, there are no podcasts, only a bunch of songs I'm trying to put on my ipod. When it is plugged in, it shows up under devices in the sidebar. I click and drag the playlists/individual songs I want to add to the ipod, and they appear under the name of the device in the sidebar. I then get the 13019 error message, and even though the songs or playlists appear when the ipod is plugged in, they do not appear on the actual ipod device. I have no voice notes or podcasts that could be messing with it - deleting these and resyncing have been the solution I've seen most often. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Ipod nano sync error 13019 - I've tried everything suggested. Now I Have a blank Nano. Any suggestions?

Now I have a blank nano.

    Hello RonTheStockGuy,
I agree with Ingo2711. Here are the steps to fix the issue:
The steps are kinda long but they work.
This is for windows computers with iPod nano that get the error 13019 during or after a sync with iTunes.
    -Open itunes
    --click, edit, click preferences
    --select advanced
---make a note of the iTunes media folder location on a notepad.
---put a check in organize files
---take the check out of copy files
    ---click ok
--Click file, at the top of iTunes
--move mouse over library, select organize, and consolidate files. ( This ensures all music in you iTunes will be in the iTunes media folder later.)
At this point, if you have playlists you want to save:
-Create a folder on your desktop, call it, playlists
--Hover you mouse over your playlist in iTunes, should be at the bottom of the blue/grey column on the left.
--right click the playlist, select export playlist
--Navigate to your desktop and open the playlist folder and save.
---Do this for each playlist you want to save
    -Close itunes
-Click your start button, and open computer or my computer
--Using what you wrote down on your note pad, follow the path to the "iTunes folder", NOT the iTunes media folder
    --Open the iTunes folder.
    --Stop here
-You will see icons that look like folders and you will see icons that look like files-
    -You will KEEP the FOLDERS
    -You will DELETE the FILES
--If it makes you more comfortable you can cut the files out and paste on your desktop, but as of now we do not need the files any longer as we have the playlists backed up. Remember-Keep the folders.
    --That was the magic--
    -Disconnect your iPod if connected.
-When you open your iTunes, it will be empty, that is OK. We are recreating the library. Everything will come back in a few seconds.
    -Click file at the top
--Select, add FOLDER to library, not to be confused with add file.
--In the window that pops up, locate and click on computer or my computer
--From here follow the path to the iTunes media folder on your note pad, but do not open the iTunes media folder.
--Click the iTunes music/media folder one time so it highlights.
--On the bottom right you will have option to select folder, or choose folder or OK. Hit that button.
All you music will start to import back into iTunes.
    -Plug in iPod after completed
--a message pops up about being synced with a different library.
    --Click erase and sync
--Watch all your songs go on your iPod with no error message.
From here you may sync your iPod the way you want with out worrying about the persnickety error 13019!!!!!
    Hope this helps!!!

    p.s. Follow the directions exactly.
p.s.s. To add your playlists back to iTunes:
-Click file at the top of the screen
--move your mouse over library, selecte import playlist
--on the new screen that pops up, navigate to your desktop
--open the playlist folder, select the first playlist, hit ok
    --repeat for each playlist exported

  • I can't add songs to my ipod nano 5th gen. Get a sync error (13019)

Today I connected my 5th gen. nano to my windows computer to add some songs to my library. When I connected it I got a pop up saying windows had added my ipod drive to the computer. I dont know why it did this because it was already added; I've had my nano for over a year and have been using it on my computer for too. I went to add songs, and they worked. When I subsequently went to change something in a playlist, I got an error saying my ipod couldn't be synced (13019). I have never had my ipod synced so i dont know why it would say this. Now, when I try to add songs to my ipod, it doesn't work, and I get the same sync error message. I don't know what to do.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.
