IPod syncs 57 songs, then automatically cancels?

I recently restored my iPod after having a few crashing issues with SpringBoard. Since then, I've been having a problem with iTunes refusing to sync more than 57 songs (one per album, it seems) to the iPod. It's a 5th gen iPod, 32GB, running iOS 7.0.3, and I'm running iTunes v. 11.1.2.32. I'm running a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I've tried the playlist trick, restarting both the iPod and the computer, closing and reopening the Music app, restoring again, trying different USB ports, and reinstalling iTunes. Nothing seemed to work. Occasionally when I sync, the iPod will display "Downloading (some number, which occasionally changes) of 0..." at the bottom of the Music tab in the Music app. When Show All Music is checked in Settings, the songs will show up, but will be unplayable and undownloadable.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Everything else seems to be working fine.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that while syncing, the computer will display each song transferring properly, before myseteriously cancelling the sync by itself. What this means, I don't know.

Other users have reported some problem. Seems to be a problem with either iTunes or iOS 7. Y can try
- Restore from backup. Yo might have done that already. See:

  • Ipod Syncs 111 songs then shows error saying failed to copy disk creg...?

as i sed ... my new ipod nano ( 8GB ) gets to 111 songs sync'ed onto my ipod, and they play fine as i cheked but as soon as i trys to sync the 112 song it trys syncing for about 2-3 mins then ends syncing and shows this message " itunes has failed to copy to disk CREG. " this has never happened on my 1st gen nano.
I tried restoring, that didnt work. so i fort maybe a error with the songs file, so i deleted it from my itunes and restored to sync again. i just got the same proplem on the new 122 song. My ipod still says theres loads of space left to use but just doesnt sync the songs.
does anyone have any idea what is going on, i read the FAQ on it in support and that REALY didnt help and just frustrated me more, so im woundering if anyone has had this proplem and solved it.
PLEASE share any help you can give!

for anyone having this proplem and done EXACTLY the same as me.. the trik is EXACTLY wat the suport says but i didnt realise i mite have 3 or 4 corrupt files. so if u removed 1 file.. try removing every file the sync stops on.. i had to remove 2 in the end. just keep removing you wont have many corrupt files.
good luck i hope i helped.. i certainly helped my self haha

  • IPod sync is complete - then eject, then iTunes hangs

When I get the message "iPod sync is complete", I wait a few seconds, then click EJECT the iPod...
    THEN iTunes hangs.
If I wait ONE MINUTE after "iPod sync is complete", then iTunes does not hang.
    Does this sound right?
After that, the iPod won't dismount.
If I force-quit iTunes, it will quit, and on restart, it will say "Syncing iPod" for a while then say "iPod sync is complete", but then the iPod WON'T dismount.
    What a bag of nails.

You did not answer my previous question about using the Restore button... That might help, if you did not try that yet.
The latest iTunes is 8.0.1 (11), so you could try upgrading. If there was a bug, it might fix.
If you are using the +enable disk use+ setting (the iPod appears on Desktop as a drive), try setting that OFF, click the Apply button. Then set it ON again, and apply.
Also, try ejecting the iPod by dragging the icon on the Desktop to the Trash (or using right-click/Eject) instead of using the little button in iTunes. If you do it that way, does ejecting cause the crash you describe.

  • IPod begins to sync and syncs some songs, then just stops.

I just bought this iPod last night from a friend. When I tried putting the music from my iTunes onto it, it repeatedly stops syncing the songs and the screen changes from saying Synchronizing to Connected. I've tried restarting, restoring, updating iTunes, restarting my computer, shortening playlists. But no matter what, it will begin to sync then just crash. Any suggestions on what I can do?

  • IPod sync never completes, if I cancel the sync a large portion of my music disappears

Hi, hopefully someone here can help!
I have recently had an issue with my iPod touch and iTunes 12.0.1.26. It has been a bit of a pain to sync ever since that update that screwed up other people's iThings but I hadn't had a problem in a few months. Now whenever I try to sync it will take a long time and never complete, always getting hung up on the last step before anything is transferred. If I unplug or cancel I get an error box that says the iPod couldn't be recognised and the sync failed to start even though it would get through to that last bit after backing itself up. After each failed attempt the Other data section becomes bigger until I get another error saying that there is not enough space on my iPod for everything, sometimes it is over capacity by 10GB. Every time this happens I end up with less and less music on my iPod until I get incomplete playlists and entire albums wiped off. After this the only solution seems to be a factory reset and restore from backup, which I have done twice already this week.
My phone will sync with no issues so I am not sure if it is a software or hardware problem. Its winding me up, anyone have any ideas? I have already removed and reinstalled iTunes and have done a reset on the iPod.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reboot the computer
    - Try another USB port
    - Try another cable
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • IPod syncs in iTunes, then when I disconnect, there isn't any music on it.

Okay, so I've been all over this discussion board looking for answers. I've done all the normal things to overcome the problem and it's still here. There's two weird things, and I think they're related and both of them have to do with my iTunes, not my iPod. When I connect my iPod, which has been formatted, restored, you name it, to wipe it clean - it comes up with it being almost full of OTHER. There's nothing on the iPod (as I can tell if I plug it into a different computer). Then, when I try to copy music to it, it says it's transferring and the music shows up under the music tab of my iPod in iTunes, but if I unplug the iPod and check to see if it copied, it remains unchanged and the music doesn't show up. Like I said, I plugged it into a different computer and everything worked fine. So, I completely removed iTunes and every component of the software I could find and reinstalled the new version, but as soon as I plug in my iPod, it recognizes it, and shows me that it's 90% full of OTHER and has the same problems. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm uninstalling iTunes and going back to version 6, just to see if it will change anything.

Okay, so many frustrating hours later, I tried the last thing I could think of (should have been the first). I went into the Windows device manager and uninstalled the ipod, and then reconnected it and let windows reinstall the driver for it. Once I reinstalled iTunes 7, it recognized the ipod as new and asked me to set it up, the OTHER stuff on the bar that shows free space was empty and now it sycs fine. Problem solved

  • Ipod plays 5 songs, then goes silent, often showing Cover Flow as ghostly boxes.

It does this mostly on newer albums. I've already tried: Latest iTunes, latest iPod software, reset, restore, and finally return/exchange for brand new 160 gb. Still!
I can fastforward to the 6th and subsequent songs to play them.  But if I fastforward anytime before the 5th song is over, it will usually still stop after the 5th song.  When I turn the screen on after a freeze, the album covers are often gray & white squiggly lines.  I did get the Red X of Death one time yesterday, but that went away.
The iPod is fully charged.  The only non-standard setting I have is EQ (equalizer) set to Rock.  Remember this is my second iPod having this problem About all I haven't tried is uninstall/reinstall iTunes -or- Restore iPod from Disk Mode.  Whoever solves this should win the Nobel Prize.
    Suggestions?

Since the problem has been persistant across two different iPods, it seems like that the issue is with the tracks themselves.  You said most of the tracks giving you problems were purchases from the iTunes Store.  Do they stil play okay in iTunes?
Either way, I would remove them from iTunes, redownload them again at no cost via iCloud and resync them over to the iPod Classic.

  • Why does my iPod charge completely and then automatically go to Red? It's been doing this all day today... And sometimes it dies, but an hour later I can turn it back on. I don't want to buy a new battery!!!

    It just *****...

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Ipod sync issues with itunes 11

    Hello,
My classic iPod syncs very slowly with iTunes 11, it starts out syncing (2 songs) & then just "sits" with no progress.
iPod sofware is up to date, version 1.1.2.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Lee

I figured out how to put it in recovery mode and I'm starting over, this ipod is more work than it's worth.

  • My ipod syncs but when disconnected wont show music?

When I connect the ipod it'll come up as "scan or fix disc" and i've fixed it for both the file errors and the recovery of bad sectors thingy in that window that pops up, and I've restored it several times in itunes. At first it would sync certain songs then it would get to a random song and say that the file was bad. So I tried syncing without those songs and it showed that it synced the memory even showed they were on the ipod, but then when I ejected the ipod it showed no music. Also, now everytime I plug the ipod in, itunes immediately stops responding. pleassseee help.

    - WIth theiPod connected to your computer click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes. How much storage is shown used in the Music category and how muchin "other".
    - Try restoring to factory defaults/new iPod and then syncing.

  • How long should it take to sync 8000 songs?

    HI,
I had to completely wipe my iPhone 4S. I started to sync my music back to it at 19h00 last night. It is now 15h30 the next afternoon and it is still syncing. It has now done 6000 out of the 8000 songs. Most of my music is in 256 AAC format so I have ticked the block to convert to 128 AAC to save space. I am using the USB cable and not WiFi sync. My 4S is running 7.1.2 and I am using a Windows 7 laptop.
Is it normal for a sync to take this long?
    Thanks
    Daniel

It may be taking longer than normal because you have the "convert" option checked as well. Not only does it have to sync the songs then but each song that needs to be converted will also take up some more time.
