i got my ipod taken away at school by the iss teacher and the iss teacher gave it to the pricliple and the principle said to wait untel the end of the year or get my dad to come and pick it up i just waited untel the end of the year because it was close and i didnt want my dad finding out so he wont get mad so anyway she said she lsot it on the last day of school! what should i do? and anyone know how i can track my stolen ipod? i got the serial number for it and can apple track it or at least show me the last time my ipod was signed in into itunes?? please help ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!
in order to enable tracking of your iOS device, you first have to register at mobileme.com and if you didn't then there is no way you can detect it.
IF you registered previously then you can only detect its whereabouts ONLY if the iPod is on a Wifi connection and then again, the location that mobileme displays only provide a rough estimation as to where it could be.
eg. if it's a multi-storey building, it can only tell you that it's in the building but never which floor it is.
i think you should bring this up, i have no idea but this sounds like a foul play to me.

No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or conbtinue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown/or off-line, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Unless you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was lost then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did enable it then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone / Find My iPad on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc. -

I just updated to the newest version of ITunes well, not just but a few days ago. Anyway I have windows 8, and in ITunes my Ipod 5th gen will not show up. I have tried somethings such as unpluging repluging, going to services and restarting, basiclly everything on yoyutube, none still work. It's ***** to cause I just wanted to put music on my Ipod, if anyone has an idea of what to do please give some suggestions.

Are you streaming or syncing you music? Sounds like you're streaming music directly from iTunes.
There can be many different issues. First, try power-cycling you wireless router (leave router disconnected for about 1 or 2 minutes) to refresh the wireless communication betweek both devices.
Make sure all software updates have been installed, for Apple TV and iTunes. -

I don't think you're on iOS 5, I think you're using iOS 6. That's the latest version.
Unless you've used iCloud to back up your documents, you won't be able to restore them. And for future reference, you don't have to uninstall Pages to update your iPad anymore. Sorry about this. -

I upgraded to 20gb iCloud but it isn't enough to back up. I get constant error messages saying there is no backup space and I've not been able to use the upgrade. Apple promised to refund then didn't. If you are trying to update your device, but you don't have sufficient space to download and install the update, you need to delete content from your device. Buying storage in iCloud does not add space to the device which is what you need.
You can always update using a computer with iTunes installed - this method is faster, and will allow you to make a backup on the local computer (Local backups restore faster than iCloud backups).
