Ipod takes forever, replacement ipod? please read

My ipod takes the LONGEST time to update songs from itunes to my ipod mini. It took at least an hour to put 50 songs on my ipod, compared to its usual time at about 2-3 minutes. Also, my ipod says on itunes when i drag the songs to put on the ipod, it says, "updating ipod, do not disconnect" but it doesn't put the songs on the ipod. I've had so many problems with this ipod, if I send it back will they give me a mini ((even though they're not made anymore)) or will they replace it with a nano or a regular ipod?
thanks!

i really have no clue what USB i have. previous problems made me create a new "drive" for the ipod. i have had so many problems with this ipod. earlier today, i was in the car when realized that for the 3rd time, my entire ipod was once again deleted. I just tried putting new songs on the ipod and got an error. I'm getting very sick of this and am definately sending the ipod back. Question, my name is on the back of the ipod -- will they still send me a new one? thanks

  • Ipod nano (6th gen) takes forever to sync - please help!

Syncing my ipod nano has taken 2 DAYS so far. Yes, 48 hours, and it still hasn't finished. Any ideas why? My 64gb touch syncs just fine, but the nano is taking forever! I've updated and reset it to factory settings, but its still crawling along.

  • Ipod major problems. replacement? please read

I've had uncountable problems with my ipod mini and I am definately going to send it in. Although, I do NOT want another mini with all of the problems i've had with it -- my entire ipod got deleted, today for the 4th time. Is there any way they could send me a nano or a regular ipod, even if i have to pay the difference between the mini and those two ipods?

Not a chance. If you send in your mini for service, then you will get back another new or refurbished mini as a replacement.

  • Syncing 2 Ipods, please read

Okay, I bought 2 Classic Nano 8 gig. I have Itunes setup on my CPU at home, & at work. The one at home is my wife's, the one at work mine.
How do get the playlist I created off my Wife's Ipod onto my Ipod without deleting either of our entire libraies? It won't let me click & drag when her's is hooked upto my CPU. Please help, because I don't wanna try to download all that music 1. again, & 2. at work.
This music is not purchased from I-tunes also. Thanks....Vegeta

*Then come to work, & have my Ipod set on manual, & Sync & that playlist will go into my library*
No it won't. You can use iTunes to transfer any songs on the iPod that were purchased from the iTunes Store. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    SharePod Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows

There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • I AM HAVIN MANY PROBLEMS WITH MY IPOD PLEASE READ AND HELP

I can't import movies on my iPod or even get it to show up on iTunes please help and respond if you know how to fix this problem.

you may need to convert the videos to a format appropriate for the ipod to see them .which are .mov or .mp4 video files. to do this you will ened to convert the videos using a 3rd party software that is not suported by apple. windows users have had either trouble or success using this software.
To use Videora iPod Convertor to convert movies for use on your iPod, consult these helpful links:

  • ITunes does not detect my iPod-- please read and help?!

I tried all the help Apple told me to do. I reset my iPod(didn't work) and then I downloaded the newest version of iTunes. That didn't work either. My iTunes still does not detect my iPod. The newly downloaded iTunes was at least supposed to tell me that my iPod was "corrupted" but it didn't. So... I'm not sure that it is. But that is the only reason Apple tells you could cause this. So yeah, I'm pretty lost right now! Does anybody know anything to help(by the way, I own a 5th generation iPod nano)? Thanks

Take a look at this web page and see if it helps. Some of the suggestions are ones you say you've already tried, but there are other suggestions, one of which may help:
iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes on Windows
    Good luck.

  • Takes a long time to read

All of the sudden my iPod is taking a really long time to read on my computer. I will plug it in a it will take a long time for iTunes to open up. After it finally updates the iPod and I decide to update it again, it takes forever for it to read. I look at my iPod and it just stays at the Charged screen or whatever is on there. I have tried restoring it numerous times and it still does it. It will even take a really long time for it to recognize my iPod in the iPod updater. I have tried everything. It is weird because my iPod works fine and this is just happening all of the sudden.
I have also tried reinstalling the iPod updater and iTunes and still doesn't work.

Try opening iTunes first, and then connecting the iPod.
If it is showing the charged screen and shows up in iTunes, then go to file-->update iPod.
    Also, how long is long?

And when i plug my ipod into the computer to update it it extracts the software and everything and when it goes to backup my ipod it takes forever to load and when it starts to back it up it goes about a fourth of the way very slowly and doesnt move after that. I have tried unplugging it and plugging it in again but nothing works. I left it plugged in all night last night and when i checked it in the morning an error message pooped up and said ipod was dissconnected so it didnt do anything. I tried a few nights ago and it didn't have the error message but it didnt move from the poin t where i left it that night. Please help me I really need this update and to backup my ipod!

my ipod while connected to my computer with itunes on, looking into the ipod part of itunes, it shows that i have all the songs that i want, which is all of the songs in my itunes library, but when the ipod is disconnected, some of my songs are missing from my ipod. i dont understand, in itunes they are shown as being on my ipod, but when unplugged i cant find them anywhere.

  • Is there an easy way to download my music from the iCloud to iTunes library on my new PC desktop so I can sync my iPod?  I have iMatch and cannot figure out how to do it in one fell swoop rather than by downloading each song, which will take forever!

    Hi,
I have taken over my son's old PC desktop tower as it has more memory than my old PC.  I installed iTunes on it and have accessed via my iMatch account my music library that's in the iCloud.  I need to download it to the iTuned library on the desktop so I can sync my iPod.  I can only see how to do it song-by-song, which will take forever for my almost 5000 songs.  Is there a way to dowload the entire library in one fell swoop, letting it download without me having to do each song individually or monitor it?
    Thanks,
    RSG

Select all songs ctrl A, right click - Download.

If you're on windows try the following:
This worked for me an hour ago and has allowed me to sync ok. Still haven't tried downloading the new version 5 to the phone yet as I'm still backing up photos etc just in case.
    1. Quit itunes
    2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)
    3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset
    4. press ENTER
    5. Reboot your machine
    6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync
    7. Good luck

Nothing you can do. Presently the Apple servers are overloaded because of iOS 6.

  • Upgraded iPod touch to 6.01 now music says "no content" on screen. Sync takes forever but won't work

Just upgraded to 6.01. Tried to sync music and it took forever and didn't reflect  the changes made in my folders, it also included lots of tracks that were blank. SO I tried syncing again, it took forever and then the iPod said "no content" when I clicked the music. Syncing takes forever (step 4 of 4) and does nothing now.
Restarted, relaunched and tried syncing many times. Not working.

    - Maybe
Fix for “No Content” on iPhone & iPod after iOS 4.2.1 update
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync (if you can)
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPod Syncing Takes Forever On Mac

I have a iPod Classic 120GB that I have running with iTunes on my Mac.  I have syncing disabled on the device in iTunes.  However, it seems like every time I plug my iPod in, iTunes starts syncing it.  It takes forever to do this.  It can sometimes be a couple of hours to finish.  I can't seem to figure out why this continues to happen when I have syncing turned off.  I also can't seem to figure out why it takes so long and why it will not let me cancel the process once it has started.  Can anyone provide any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Here's one that helped me after hours of troubleshooting and lost data....
I changed my cable! Apparently my cables were no good? So I bought a new one... (really APPLE? I have to "buy" a new one?)
FINALLY IT WORKS!!!! I know it sounds simple, but it worked for me. Hope this helps.
