Ipod thinks music video is a movie

I put a music video on my ipod, made it so that sounds etc stays, but now its in the movie section. Any idea how to change this?

Hey!
In iTunes, open Movies in source panel.Highlight the music video you want, get info and choose 'Video'you can then alter the type of Video it is and also add some further info within the tag fileds to help in sorting further.
Cheers,
John

You are all kidding about this right?
Really, you do all know it's ENTIRELY down to product placement - ie: paid for advertising - rather than any "cool" factor, don't you?
I just can't believe there are intelligent people out there who still don't know that. I mean: why would a high profile pop star or the producer of a multi-million dollar movie feature a (usually entirely irrelevant) piece of technology in their product for free when they could get hundreds of thousands of dollars to do it?
It's not even like it's subtle anymore: have you seen how much product placement Apple have bought in Californication? Every other scene has someone using a powerbook or an iPod or at least talking about it.
Favourite line from the last one I saw: "Do you know (some **bleep**py album)? I'll gift it to you on your iPod."

My macbook crashed the other day and i've been searching and searching for some help but nothing has come up... so anyway i need to get my music/movies/T.V shows/pics off the ipod and onto the new computer, but the problem is, is that it says i have to delete the contents of my ipod to sync with other computer.  I have purchased songs and a ton of movies but the rest has been from my friends and whatnot.  I need to know how to move the music/shows/movies to the new computer without using the old one.  is there such a thing?

  • Why does my Ipod touch Music/Video apps crash after update to OS4

Updated Ipod touch (64GB) yesterday to OS4. Today I cant run the Music or the Video apps. They will LOAD, but after 3 seconds, the crash. Any ideas?
Ive tried to do the reboot thing (DFU??) that I saw in another post but same issue.
Tried a search several times but have not seen any posts so far with this particular issue.

I'm having the same issue as well, I'm currently at work so as of right now I can't try to restore mine, but the strange thing with mine is that I updated mine the day the iOS 4.0 came out and had no problems until last night. Now the music and video sections keep crashing after just a few seconds. Also all my Podcast are gone, the only things missing and I even re-downloaded them last night and they're still gone.

  • Putting videos in "Music Videos"

I converted some music videos that I recorded off of TV and was wondering if there is a way to put them on the iPod as "Music Videos" and not "Movies".
    Thanks,
    "D"

The only categories are "movies" or "music videos." This nomenclature isn't exactly perfect, as in this case being forced to put TV shows under movies. It's sort of the same thing with audiobooks and podcasts being filed under music; They don't fit exactly, but would you really want that many different categories?

    from Byron.

You can indeed burn moves and shows from the iTunes Store to a data DVD (via Finder or other software) for backup purposes, which is I believe what Byron is asking about (though I can't be sure). You just can't burn them to a video DVD to be played in a standard DVD player.
Well, I'm not sure about that. Having just re-read the terms, it appears that you may re-download content, and that you can burn songs, but this appears to not include videos (unless it is iTunes Plus content):
(iv) You shall be authorized to burn an audio playlist up to seven times.
    (v) You shall not be entitled to burn video iTunes Products or ringtone iTunes Products.
(vi) iTunes Plus Products do not contain security technology that limits your usage of such products, and Usage Rules (ii) – (v) do not apply to iTunes Plus Products. You may copy, store, and burn iTunes Plus Products as reasonably necessary for personal, noncommercial use.
Reading further, then there is this:
    (ix) Content Rentals
    (a) Content rentals are viewable on only one device at a time. You must be connected to the iTunes Service when moving rentals, and you may do so only between your computer and other compatible devices. Content rented using your Apple TV, iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod touch (4th generation) may not be moved. If you move a rental to a compatible device and then use the iTunes Service to restore that device, or choose Settings > Reset > Erase all content and settings on that device, the rental will be permanently deleted.
    (b) You have thirty (30) days after downloading a rental to begin viewing. Once you begin viewing, you have twenty-four (24) hours to finish viewing a movie, and forty-eight (48) hours to finish viewing a TV show. Stopping, pausing, or restarting a rental does not extend the available time for viewing.
Some iTunes Products, including but not limited to Content rentals, may be downloaded only once and cannot be replaced if lost for any reason. It is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage iTunes Products once downloaded, and you may wish to back them up.
Even after years of deciphering contracts and the sometimes rather complex content, I find this a bit confusing and I'd be checking with Apple to make sure I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be.

  • IPhone's iPod content (music and videos) no longer visible!

I just upgraded my iTunes to 7.6 and now, after syncing my iPhone, all of the iPod-type data (music, video, podcasts, etc.) is now not visible on the iPhone. The "capacity" bar at the bottom of the iTunes screen show that all of the data (5.76GB) is still there, but now it is all the orange color for "other." My photos are still yellow in the bar and viewable on my iPhone, but I get a "No Music" and "No Videos" screen on the iPhone when I try to view that content. Apparently it is still there, but somehow the "file type" has been changed. My only two recent changes are updating to iTunes 7.6 and upgrading the iPhone software to the current 1.1.3. I've tried restarting the iPhone with the home/powerswitch method and have rebooted the computer several times as well. I was going to try and downgrade iTunes by installing 7.5, but another user noted that 7.5 will not read the updated 7.6 playlist. ANY IDEAS?? (all of this is on 10.4.11, not Leopard.)

    Hey Larry,
I went ahead and did a "restore" and everything was back to normal. It did take a while, though, as it wiped out then re-copied over 7Gigs of data to the phone. It was a hassle, but all is OK. I'm still concerned, though. I also spoke with a Genius at the Apple store who had never seen this, and thought it was a problem with the "file type" in iTunes, but i checked and movies were still "movie" filetype. He suggested MANUALLY checking/adjusting every file, but that is rediculous and there were hundreds of songs and videos!! Anywho, on my iPhone the date outside of the iPod items (music, videos, podcasts, etc.) was not effected, and all is back to normal after a lengthy "restore." Still looking for a "why" on this one...

  • How do i put a music video into a iMovie HD movie?

Im super confused and i really want to put a music video into my movie on iMovieHD. can someone help me out?

as I answered your first posting of this issue:
you can not 'use' an iTS purchased video in any other app than iTunes.. (=for watching, iPod, AppleTV)..
there's NO workaround.. read the Terms of Use of the Store..

  • Transfering music videos to iPod

I am using the latest iTunes version (9.0.0.70) and an iPod (3rd generation, can play videos). I bought 3 music videos in the iTunes Store, they are now in my "Music" library. How can I transfer them to my iPod so that I can see them at iPod > Videos > music videos?
It seems that I can only create a playlist in my "Music" library.
On my iPod at the "Music" sync-tab I see an option to sync music videos as well. How do I have to use this function?
Shortly asked: how do I correctly transfer music videos on my iPod?
    Thanks a lot!

OK, I created a nromal playlist, made a sync and now the 3 music videos show up in the correct section on the iPod. I thought that I would have to transfer the music videos into the "Movie" section of iTunes somehow...

  • Changing video kind from movie to music video

  • Cant watch music videos and they are downloaded on my ipod

for some reason i have the cover of the music video and the movies too but i cant play them only sound comes out...please help
    thanks
    morgan

On your iPod go to "Videos / Video Settings".
Then select "TV Out" and either set it to "off" or "ask".
Also, make sure you are accessing the video through the videos menu. If you have a video mixed in an audio playlist and you access it through that, you also won't be able to see the video.

  • Mix music videos and movies in playlist?

Is there a way to mix my itunes music videos and my movies into one playlist so they are together on apple tv?

if you have a request for a feature you should tell them here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html

  • Movies or long music videos freezing on my 60 gig

when i play like a long music video or a movie, my the picture freezes on it, and then eventually starts up again, only with no sound. i have no idea what's going on, but when i play regular-legth music videos or the like it's totally fine. so i just need a little info about that. PLZ HELP ME!!!!! email me whenever at [email protected]
    dell   Windows XP

You need to restore your iPod back to firmware 1.0; firmware 1.1 has a bug with 60GB iPods where the sound freezes after 30 seconds; You need to uninstall iPod updater 2006-01-10 and install the old 2005-10-12 iPod updater; This updater came with the disk that came with your iPod; or if you don't have it, you can download it from here iPod Updater 2005-10-12
after you have installed the updater; plug in your iPod and once it shows up; restore it; this has been the only solution to fixing the video problem. Hope this works
