IPod time changing on sync

I have a 32Gb iPod touch, and I have the timezone on it set properly, but every time i sync it with iTunes the time and date change to something totally different. It syncs music, videos, photos and Safari bookmarks. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here? It's starting to get annoying, and the time difference isn't in hours either (faulty timezone), it's totally random. Thanks for the help in advance.

I recently experienced this issue as well, and was able to fix it with little difficulty. Here's what I did.
1. Disconnect your iPod from the computer.
2. Make sure that the time and date on your computer is correct.
3a. In iTunes, go to Edit => Preferences => Syncing.
3b. You should see your device listed there, along with that same $#%& incorrect date and time. Select it and press "Remove Backup".
4. Close out of and reopen iTunes.
5. Reconnect your iPod. It will create a new backup to replace the one you just deleted, with the (hopefully) correct date and time, and your iPod's date and time will change to mirror that of your computer's.
I hope that helps!

  • Time changing while syncing.

    Hello !
    Hope you're doing it great.
My problem is: When I connect my iTouch (1 gen w/Jan update) the date and time changes.
How can I solve this problem ??
    Please help me
    Send you a hug.
    Emma

As suggested by "cougarfinn" in another discussion thread (in connecting IPOD to windows) try the following: Close itunes and turn off your ipod, then plug it in (which then in turn restarts both the ipod and itunes) it goes to the correct date and time. then go to preferences and disable automatic syncing.
I am still having another problem since the last update: When I do the following: Settings>General>Time & Date, then the main screen (with all of the icons) is displayed, I never see the time, date screen, it goes back after about 1 second to main screen The same thing happens when I do the following: Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>I then scroll to the bottom of the page and I get the main page again. I never get to touch on contacts or calendar, only mail. Please help.

  • Date & Time changed when sync

When I connected my touch to PC, and sync, touch's date & time would change to a early date & time, most of time this would happen.
Is there anyone knows what happens?
    Thanks!!

    Hello
this is a common problem with the ipod touch. I have it, and many others on the forum have it. It's nothing to do with the ipod, so restoring it will do nothing.
some think that it is quicktime, others itunes.
The only way i have found to stop it is to only plug the ipod in while itunes is closed.
    thanks

  • Itunes freezes and ipod times out while syncing with windows 7

i have all my drivers and software up to date. i have tried just about everything i can find on the forums but nothing has helped at all.

  • Calendar time changed when sync between itouch and mac

7:30am event on my mac changes to 4:30am on my itouch. Everything is 3 hrs early! I am sure time zone is right. Does anyone know what's the problem? Thanks.

I have had same issue & the Apple store even swapped my Touch over lst week, with no change in result. However, I found this today in one of the forum threads:
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>Time Zone Support>New York

  • Whenever I charge my ipod and syncs, the time changes.  What seems to be the problem

Whenever I charge my itouch using my notebook (running on Windows 7) and it starts to sync, the time changes in my iTouch.  How can I remedy this?
    Thanks

Does it happen to change to a certain time, every single time you sync it.
Check the timezone that is set as well.
Sadly I'm a newcomer and don't know more than what I just stated above.
    Hopefully it helps

  • When i drag and drop to my ipod it wants to sync everything, but if i make changes to the syncing options and apply it wants to sync it all to make it work. i have 12000 songs and takes two days to sync everything. is there an easier way to drag and drop

when i drag and drop to my ipod it wants to sync everything, but if i make changes to the syncing options and apply it wants to sync it all to make it work. i have 12000 songs and takes two days to sync everything. is there an easier way to drag and drop just one album without making settings changes?

The first ever Sync of 12,000 songs to an empty iPod will take a while, but it shouldn't take two days.
Once all 12,000 songs have been Synced to the iPod, subsequent changes to just one album will result in a very short Sync time. That Sync will include:
the change to that one album
play counts on iPod updated into your iTunes Library
Smart Playlists updated: some complex Smart Playlists are not always updated by the iPod but have to wait for a Sync with the Library.
housework - in other words, behind the scenes tasks that we don't need to see.
Those subsequent Syncs do not sync every single song every time.
So, stick with Syncing. If the first Sync of all your songs is taking too long, try syncing part of the Library (say one or two genres) the first time, a further part the second time and so on. After all, with a Library that large, manually managing the iPod will be a source of torture.

  • IPod stolen can I get it to be flagged with its serial number next time it's synced?, iPod stolen can I get it to be flagged with its serial number next time it's synced?

iPod was stolen, is it possible to get it flagged via Serial number next time it's synced to load songs by the thief?
Many thanks, it's my son's, was my son's, and I dunno what to do

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
    - iOS: How to find the serial number, IMEI, MEID, CDN, and ICCID number
No you need to have turned on FIndMyiP{od
The SN will only help identify the iPod as your if it is recovered.

  • ICal calendar sync -time change problem

It's happened again. We change our clocks and when I connect my iPod mini to my iBook it syncs the calendars BUT it moves the time of every event up one hour. My 9 a.m. appointments are now 10 a.m. and so on. I've tried changing the default time zone in iCal, changing event times. Nothing helps.

I've had the same problem with a few iPods...
    Solution:
Connect the iPod, go into preferences in iTunes for the iPod and UNCHECK the sync calendars option
Next, open the iPod in the Finder, TRASH the entire calendars folder, Empty the Trash....
Now, go back to iTunes and REcheck the option to sync calendars. iTunes will replace the calendar files on the iPod with the correct times.
I have NEVER had to reenter all of the repeating events using this method. Takes about 2 minutes.

This is so I can delete music from my ipod knowing its rated on my i-tunes so I can then see later if I want to re-add it based on its rating
    Thanks

    Unfortunately there is not.

Not without the help of third party software such as this one:

Something has changed on my iPod. When I sync it now it scrambles music between playlists. So, I will be listening to my jazz playlist when suddenly holiday music from another playlist is there. When I go to iTunes, however, the playlist is as it should be--jazz in the jazz playlist, holiday music in the holiday music playlist. I have two iPods--one is syncing properly while the older one is not. Any thoughts?

You are currently managing your music manually. You can either sync or manage the music manually, not both. If you want to sync, all the music currently on your phone will be erased and replaced with whatever you decide to sync to it.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.
