Ipod to Airport connection works only once

I have some kind of airport card in my mac pro. I think it's airport express. the machine was configured 4/2007. I was thrilled when an apple store employee told me I could communicate with my new ipod touch and the airport on my mac pro. I did system preferences, and checked Internet Sharing and it worked beautifully, my ipod touch got to the internet through airport express. The problem is it only works one time. If I toggle internet sharing off, reboot the machine, and toggle Internet Sharing back on my ipod touch sees the airport network to join. If set Internet Sharing on and just leave it on, the next time I try to connect to airport with my ipod it doesn't work (it can't find the network, if i create a network it says Airport is not connected to the internet). I can replicate what I am describing. Any more permanent way to set up airport? ... Flash

(Tiger and Leopard will probably both work. I'm using Leopard.)
in System Preferences/Sharing, check Airport in "to computers using", and then click Airport Options to configure the airport network.
when you've finished the configuration, turn on Internet Sharing.
that's it. Apple TV should be able to see and join the new Airport network.

CUP - field mapping from request to SU01 worked only once. I configured the Field Mapping for Account Number with Account Id. First request worked fine in DEV systems, 2nd and 3rd requests failed. Same thing happened in QA systems. Not sure whether the difference in SP on GRC and ECC is causing this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Diego,
Yes, we are on VIRSANH SP15  also VIRSAHR SP13 for SAP_HR . My connector type is SAP HR System, Version ECC 6.0.
We are on GRC 5.3  Support Pack 14.0 . Our GRC 5.3 installation is running on ABAP stack.
It is very strange that in QA client, SU01 got updated atleast 3 times with new account number , user group. Tried 4th time, did not work. In DEV client, it worked only once.

  • When I long in and type my sync key its said : incorrect key.I worked only once

I have Firefox 4 on Mac. I have sync for Iphone settled. I have Home app' in the Iphone...I cannot log in, response : incorrect Sync Key. But it worked only once.
I want uninstall all the stuff and start again, how?

Sounds as if you are trying to create a new Sync account. You need to treat that software reload as a '''new device''' for purposes of Sync.

  • Add-ons working only once

It's been a while now that I've noticed my addons not working on Mozilla DE in Ubuntu. Addons are installed correctly and, indeed, they show up when I use mozilla sync in other computers.
Today I've tried the troubleshooting suggested here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/982460
It works only once. I can install my addons again, but as soon as I close firefox and open it again the addons dissapear from the top bar and customization window. Even when I try to change preferences for Ghostery I only get a blank screen so addons are definitely not working in Ubuntu

    Lets do a full install. But do it this way;
    '''[http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ Download Firefox Full Installer For All languages And Systems]''' {web link}
    Save the file. Then;
Using your file browser, open the '''Programs''' folder on your computer.
    '''Windows:''' C:\Program Files
    C:\Program Files (x86)
    '''Mac:''' Open the "Applications" folder.
    '''Linux:''' Check your user manual.
    • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla and Firefox folders by adding '''.old''' to them.
    Now run the full installer.
If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

  • IPod won't connect more than once

When I plug my iPod into my computer, my iTunes registers and connects and syncs. Perfectly fine. But I want to change some settings on my iPod, such as the album artwork and playlists, and whenever I try to sync it again, my iPod won't connect and my iTunes can't find it, even though its plugged in.
    Help?

Typically when only one device can connect to the AirPort base station, it may be because it is not properly configured as a NAT router ... which is its default configuration.
One option is to perform a "factory default" reset on the AirPort, and then, try connecting one or more devices to verify that they now all get network/Internet access. Once verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure it per your networking requirements.

  • Redirected printers using Remote Desktop Easy Print driver work only once during session

    Hello all
We are running Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Services Sessions hosts with printer redirection allowed using only the Easy Print Driver, we have no other drivers installed on the servers. All client printers are redirected and can print fine, but
only once per session! We have tested with several different client printers and they all work a single time in each session. After that the user needs to log off and then back on again to be able to print once again, but only once. Needless to say, our users
are annoyed. If I look at the c:\windows\system32\spool\printers folder while jobs are printing, but failing, I can see the spool files appearing and disappearing as jobs are spooled. No errors in the event logs accompany the behaviour. Our clients are running
Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. All exhibit the same problem. The error looks a little like what is described here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2925429
While similar, this problem describes a scenario where Easy Print is not used, but XPS is, and since Easy Print is based on XPS and the behaviour is very similar, I am tempted to make a connection.
I have checked all the usual stuff with permissions etc, and no manufacturer provided drivers are present. The problem appears on newly installed systems as well as one that have been running for some time. Restarting the spooler services does not resolve
the problem. Actually I do not think it is related to the spooler service or driver framework at all, but rather is an Easy Print driver issue that is occurring much later in the process, if not I would see some errors in the logs and no jobs would print at
    all.
Anyone ever heard of something like this?
    Thanks
    Morgan

    Hi Morgan,
Based from your description, users can only print once during single RDP session, I suggest you check if this issue also happens locally.
In addition, after the first print attempt, does any other issue exist on the RDP session?
Is the server fully patched? If there are any available driver updates, please also apply them. If there are any third party software installed, try disable/uninstall them to see if the issue persists.
You can also enable print auditing to get more detailed information about this issue.

  • Ipod mini click wheel works only when charging

can anyone help me figure this one out?
Also, the battery is really weak, it will only run for about 1hr on full charge. i dont know if that will affect it but if it does please let me know.

Mine does the same, I can get it to work by taking off the bottom plastic part of the Ipod Mini and pulling the metal thing out a bit.

  • Ipod Classic 5th generation works ONLY when connected

I have an ipod 80GB 5th generation for 5 years now and when I remove it from the charge it stops working instantly saying something like "no power please connect" but for that fraction of second I see that the battery is full in the corner... Someone understand the problem? I guess if the battery was starting to fail me it would have been gradual, because some days ago it still worked for hours without connecting it.
    Thanks in advance
    Samuel

That's a good sign that the battery is shot and in need of replacement either by Apple, a third party service center, or you can even do it yourself if you feel up to the task.

  • Ipod is visible in Itunes only once

I have a brand new ipod. After installation of ITunes and ipod updater, I can plug the ipod in through a USB 2.0 port and see the ipod in Itunes and put all of the music files I want on it. After I unplug the ipod and try to plug it back in, it is no longer recognized by my computer or Itunes. I've tried different USB ports, I've tried reformatting through disk management and restoring through ipod updater but the ipod is only recognized once by windows and Itunes. I do not have a space for a firewire card. I should also mention that I have another, older ipod that was purchased in Jan 2004 and it is always recognized by Itunes and windows everytime it's connected (with a USB cable)I've also tried changing the drive letter but when I plug it back in the second time, my computer reads it as a removeable disk, not an ipod. Help!

I've had this problem and given the advice to others and it has worked for some. This isn't mentioned in any other advice that I can see but it is a simple check that you should do, not very technical either!
With your iPod plugged in to the computer, first go through the 5R's and other help topics to check the basics (new cable, different computer, different USB port etc.)
If no luck, check to see if your iPod exists in Device Manager as follows: right-click on My Computer, then click on Manage, then Device Manager, then expand the section called Disk Drives on the right hand side and see if the iPod is shown there, if it is, go on to the next stage.
In the same Computer Management box, click on Disk Management on the left hand side, after a few seconds a new box opens on the right and should show all of the disks on your computer including the iPod. Then right-click on the iPod information and it will give you an option to Change the drive letter or path....click on that and then select Change; select a new drive letter which is not already assigned to any other disc (I picked Z down the bottom), save that then exit and see if it works. Good luck!

  • Problems sharing internet connection - works only one way...

    hey all,
i'm having a problem sharing my internet connection between our "new" iBook G4 and "old" iMac G5. (both machines are running 10.4.10.) i've seen several posts here that seem related, but no answers that have worked in my case.
    here's the gist:
ideally, i'd like share the internet connection from the iMac (from our cable modem) to the iBook over the airport. so, i've set up the iMac to do this under "sharing" in system preferences. i then set up the iBook to connect to this new wireless network. under "network status", it says the iBook is connected to the iMac's network, but that the iBook doesn't have its own IP address, so it can't connect to the internet.
oddly, when i reverse the process - i.e. plug the modem into the iBook and share the connection over the airport to the iMac - it works fine. the iMac gets its own IP address and can see the internet.
a friend suggests that somehow the iBook is set up to distribute IP addresses as a router, but the iMac isn't. fine. but, i don't know how to make changes to that function.
    any thoughts?

well, it's taken all day - many, many attempts. but i've finally found something that worked. the answer was burried in the middle of this guy's blog page:
    http://www.tuaw.com/2007/03/26/how-to-using-your-mac-as-a-nat-router/
    he says:
"I've turned off DHCP and set the address to: 192.168.0.1 and the subnet to 255.255.255.192 In making these choices I was following a hint that appeared at macOSXhints back in 2002. Once this is done I went back to the Internet tab of Sharing Preference Pane, select en4 and start it.
"Now on my other device (in this case a Xbox 360) I set it up as follows:
"IP address: 192.168.0.2 subnet: 255.255.255.192 (this is the same subnet of the en4 USB interface, above) gateway/router: 192.168.0.1 (this is the address of the en4 interface) DNS: 192.168.2.1
"(here's where the voodoo comes in, I have no idea why this DNS setting works. You would think it should be 192.168.0.1, or even the DNS server of my ISP, but those simply do not work. I suspect that it has something to do with sharing over Airport as well).
"I've also found that this will only work properly if Internet Sharing is active for my Airport interface. If I turn off the Airport interface (en1), the wired interface (en4) also dies. With these settings in place, everything seems to work properly. Keep in mind you may also need to enable certain services (which will vary with your application) in the Services tab of the Sharing Pane:"
i wasn't trying to solve quite the same problem he was, but by manually inputting the IP addresses, etc, that he did, as well as randomly enabling other "sharing" options (FTP access, etc) which seemed unrelated to internet sharing, it finally worked.
can anyone explain what this is about? it all seems pretty cryptic to me. i'm not sure what i even did...
no complaints, but it would be interesting to know.
    thanks!

  • Wireless connection works only on Windows

I am lucky if while running my Mac OS I get wireless internet connection for 3 seconds all day. In Windows XP, though, I connect and stay connected. Why is that? I have all things updated for both opperating systems.

I am having the same problem. Often, when I boot it up, it does not connect to my router although my Macbook and WinXP laptops do. Sometimes, if I leave it for about 2-3 minutes, it will spontaneously connect, at other times I have to re-enter the SSID and wep key for it to work. Hopefully it is only driver related and they come out with updated drivers soon.
Does it work any better with an Airport extreme? I am thinking of getting one only because I can plug an external hd into it (for shared backup purposes). I currently use a Linksys WRT54G router which works fine for everything else.

  • Airport connection drops about once a day..

is the problem in my macbook or in my airport?? when i go to look at the airport, the green light is still on. help would be appreciated.
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hola -
If you go to your System Preferences/Network/Airport and check the box "Show Airport status in menu bar" you'll be able to see the strength of the signal in your top menu. 4 bars will equal a strong signal. Monitor this throughout the day ...if it's working fine for most of the time then I'd suspect the wireless router as the problem. Also, if the signal is very weak (1-2 bars) then you may indeed lose your connections at times.

  • Update works only ONCE on random - then i cant change songs!

duuuh. I tried to update by itunes. cool! it worked.
after a week the songs were boring and i decided to update the list of my songs... selected them carefully in my library and then it happened. i clicked on update and it went through the list in 2 seconds (the list was stuffed with 700mb new music) and said "done"! i began to wonder how this was possible, ejected to pod from itunes and tried listening.
so far ... as you may have thought nothing was changed on my ipod, but a few songs from the previous content were missing.
I jacked it back in and on the next playlist update it came up with an error (something like "cant update error(-36)" ).
after trying to play the songs it showed up with a reading error (y'know these green/yellow flashing LEDs). Kay.
after a few more tries i finally got it working again with a new playlist (installed itunes again, formatting, set it back to default settings with ipod updater, n'stuff...).
Now everytime i try to update my playlist i can only do this on random mode with itunes I CANNOT update single selected files. if i do this the error occures again. and i have to work around it for an hour (which is really annoying!).
Can anyone help me to get my shuffle working correctly?
btw dont worry about my bad english im german... =)

Which USB port are you using? Front-mounted ports are generally bad for iPods but even rear ports can be bad. Try using a different port to see if it stops the errors.
If you turn on "Disk Mode" the iPod won't mount/unmount as often (because you have to tell it to unmount). That might help (since otherwse, every change you do causes the iPod to mount, do something, then unmount).
Another way to do it is to always show the "iPod Playlist" and do your changes with the iPod disconnected. Then you plug it in and let it do all the changes in one go.
