You have to use a different Apple ID to create a new iCloud account (each ID can only be used with a single account). You don't have to use the ID for anything else though, she can continue to use her current ID for other services such as iTunes, iMessage, FaceTime, etc.
The only limitation is that each device can only create three iCloud accounts.

She does not know what her old Apple ID details for her iPod are.
I have now bought her a mini iPad and we have a new laptop Windows 7
She has an Apple ID for her iPad.
How do we transfer her iPod music to a new iTunes account on the Laptop without losing it all? I am aware of the horror stories surrounding Apple on this issue. If so in ‘Janet and John’ how do we do it?
Can we just sync the iPod to the laptop? Using her new Apple ID?

More than likely, your laptops do not have the high power USB ports necessary to charge an iPad. They will charge the iPad, but incredibly slowly. In fact, if the screen comes on, it draws too much power and causes the not charging message to show.
Your best bet is to sync with the computer, then use the provided power adaptor to charge the iPad from a wall outlet.

TS1398 My wireless router failed and I had to purchase a new one. My security on the new one will not allow me to use the same password. I entered a new password, but of course it is not on my ipod or ipad mini . How can I enter new password ?

My wireless router in my home has failed. I purchased a new router, but it will not allow some of the characters which I used for my old password. Therefore I cannot access the internet with my ipad mini or my ipod touch. I am unable to change the password on either device. Only you can answer that....but generally, do you need net access or just music? If just music, go for the nano, if calendar and internet access, go for the touch.
However if you have a mini and are taking it to school, then just the nano will be fine.
think about what needs you have then choose the device that fills them

The answer is, "you don't".
Music other than that purchased from the iTunes store had to be synced to the device using iTunes on a computer. The media should still exist on that computer. She can use the computer to sync the music to the new device.
An iPad or iPhone is NOT a backup device. In order to set it up to sync to a new computer were she to replace hers, the media on the device would have to be erased before anything could be synced to it. Media synced to the device can not be synced back to a computer (without purchasing 3rd party software). Without a computer and iTunes, it's not possible to transfer media from one iDevice to another, even with 3rd party software.

If your car supports A2DP (stereo Bluetooth) you need to put the car in pairing mode then go into Bluetooth on the Nano and pair them.

IPad mini unresponsive since update

JJust downloaded newest iOS update. No problem with iPad 4, iPod, or iPad mini wifi. But iPad mini with wifi & cellular is completely stuck in visual of connector moving to iTunes. Can't restart. Completely unusable. I am submitting on other mini.

I understand that after updating your iPad mini, all you see on the display of the iPad is the Connect to iTunes graphic. In this situation, I would recommend using recovery mode to restore the iPad mini. Please use the attached article for more information about this process.

ITunes no longer recognize iPod or iPad, won't burn cds.

I've recently updated iTunes and it no longer recognises either my iPod or iPad mini. It also generates the "Registry settings used for importing and burning cds are missing etc" message on opening the program.
So far I've tried:
- Re-installing iTunes several times
- Stopping and restarting the Apple mobile device service
- Following the steps in the "iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes" troubleshooting guide, going into the registry key and adding in the GEARAspiWDM iTunes filter device.
- And reinstalling iTunes a couple more times
This doesn't seem to have had any effect - what's the next step I should take? I'm using Windows 8.

eta - I've also been following the steps from here but I've been unable to empty the Temp directory, even with no apps runnings, and attemping to verify the Apple Mobile Device USB driver is installed failed - the driver specified in the fix came up with an error that it wasn't compatible with my version of Windows, and there is no drivers folder in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\.

THis is means they are not charging on a 30 pin cable and the touch won't work in my Apple iPod dock - no audio out or charge. Have re powered both devices to no avail am wondering if the iOS version is the problem

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.

You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

ITunes wiped all but iTunes purchased music from my iPad mini and my iPod nano instead of transferring the cd uploads into iTunes. Is there any way of recovering my music. Very disappointed!

Initially things worked fine. I was very pleased. I had my music library in itunes, on my Ipod nano, and a thumbdrive to back up most of my music.
When I tried to sync the music from itunes onto my new ipad mini last week it deleted the albums in itunes leaving me with only purchased itunes items in the account, On the new Ipad mini CD's from my collection could not be played but they were in fact listed. My new mac will not read the music files I backed up onto a thumb drive or show the uploaded CD music collection. Additionally when I logged into itunes with out any devices connected from my PC the itunes account was completely up to date with my CD's and purchase items in Itunes. As soon as I tried to sync it with my Ipad mini that virtual access to the collection was wiped out leaving only purchased items.
By trying to upload CD music from my Ipod nano into Itunes (originally uploaded into itunes from CD's and synced to the ipod nano in the first place, taking more than a weeks time), I am prompted to reset the entire ipod nano to factory settings (it gives no other option). I was following the instructions emailed to me from the applecare team. This was my only recourse for recovery of the lost music files, the only device left that had my album collection aside from the owned CD's. Now the ipod nano is being wiped clean and left with only the itunes purchased music ( same thing that happened with the itunes account and now the Ipad). When I disconnect the ipod nano to see if there are any albums still left on the device, it gives me an error that it was improperly disconnected.
I just wanted to add the music from itunes to my new mac and the new ipad mini. Instead I have lost all of my uploaded CD's and now have only purchased items in itunes, the new ipad mini, the new mac, and the ipod nano. I have to re-upload my entire music library into itunes/icloud from CD's again and hopefully be able to then sync it with my new devices.
However it may be better to buy the itunes purchased music on CD's from a store, Cut my losses while I can and never buy anything from apple or itunes again. Atleast I will not have my entire music collection wiped out for moving it between my own devices. Itunes match doesn't do **** either. I have wasted alot of hard earned cash on devices products and itunes purchases by converting to apple products and services.

Had the same issue when I changed computers. I backed up my I-tunes files, including CDs, but I-Tunes will not recognize anything but Apple purchases now. There were 300+ CDs in that original catalog.
