Ipod to iphoto

Reinstalled my os did not have photos backed up but there on my ipod how do I get them back on to iphoto

Did you explicitly tell iTunes to back up Full Sized pics? If not what's on your iPod isn't worth recovering.

  • Photos from Ipod to Iphoto

I'm trying to import my pictures from my Ipod to Iphoto. The help center told me to click "Enable Disk," but Iphoto still won't recognize my pictures. What do I do next?

If you have use iPhoto to put your iPod, and select Retain high Res, then you can get back high Res or else, the picture will be lower quality, good only for the iPod 2.5" screen.
As for recovering the photos, read this old post from Zevoneer, who list some good 3rd Party software, and also using Diskmode to recover the photos. (click the imbedded link)

  • After updating to iTunes 7.1, I can no longer sync iPod from iPhoto

After updating iTunes to 7.1, my iPod started crashing. I used Restore to resync music, but Restore or any subsequent sync in iTunes will not sync any photos from iPhoto 5.0.4.
The error message I receive is:
"The iPod "My iPod" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found."
iPhoto appears to work correctly, but no longer syncs. Any advice to get iPhoto working with iTunes would be welcome.
    iBook G4 1Ghz/iMac G5 iSight   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iPod Photo 40GB

When iTunes attempts to sync photos from iPhoto, it shows the amount of the iPod drive taken up with photos, BUT NO usage on the drive graph itself.
When Sync Photos from iPhoto is deselected and another sync attempted, iTunes asks if photos should be removed from iPod, despite the previous sync being unsuccessful. When I choose to remove the photos, the amount shown taken up by photos disappears.
Does anyone know what the error message quoted in my question above means?

  • Why won't some photos copy to iPod from iPhoto?

I created a folder of favorite pictures in my iPhoto specifically to be set to music in slideshow on my iPod. But of the 65 photos in the original iPhoto folder, only 52 appear on my iPod. (I've tried syncing the entire folder several times--with the same result.) What could be the reason that iPod won't accept so many of the iPhoto pictures?

For photos try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync and see if they then copy over - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
Not all video formats that work in iTunes are compatible with the iPad - the supported formats are (from http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/) :
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Have you tried Advanced > Create iPad Version and then sync those versions to the iPad
The iPad's supported audio formats are :
HE-AAC (V1 and V2), AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, and 4, Audible Enhanced Audio, AAX, and AAX+), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV

  • Used iPod for iPhoto, but iPhoto now shows "exclamation point" icons

    Hello..
I was using my iPod as an external drive for my iPhoto (21gb of photos).. I un-pluged my iPod by mistake (thinking I ejected my camera after a download) and I was hit with a
    "device removal
the device you removed was not properly put away.
data might have been lost or damaged."
It said more, but you get the picture.. Now, I've done this by mistake in the past with no trouble, but when I re-opened iPhoto, all of my pics were gone and replaced with a "!" icon.
Is it possible to get my photos back, or am I out of luck??
    HELP!

I moved the iPhoto icon from my laptop to my iPod
"iPhoto icon"? Is that the +iPhoto Library+ file inside your Pictures folder? Did you erase the original copy of the library file from your internal hard drive? And the only copy is on your iPod?
This is not really related to using an iPod (as an iPod). If I understand your description, you were using the iPod in the same way as you would an external hard drive. Except that an iPod is a pretty risky storage device on which to store the only copy of anything; you can lose it, break it, or have data corruption on the iPod's hard drive, because an iPod is something that you carry around (and connect and disconnect from your computer all the time).
So hopefully, you have a backup of that +iPhoto Library+ file.
Also, since this in not specifically about using an iPod, you may want to post your question as a topic in the category for iPhoto users.

  • Importing images from ipod into iPhoto

I installed the iPhoto 9.2 update as part of the OSX10.7.2 and am now when I try import my pictures that are stored on my iPod Touch only my Mac shows up. The iPod used to show so I could import the images stored on it, but now that option doesn't exist, it's just the Mac.
Am I doing something wrong here? Has the process changed? Do I have to activate Photostream just to import the pics locally?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem importing pics into iphoto 9.2 from my iphone.  Photostream isn't working in the country I'm in (China) but when I connect the phone manually, it doesn't show up in iphoto...
Also tried the image capture program (which maybe you could try molotovmouse...) but that also doesn't recognise the iphone...and yes it is unlocked...
apple can't have removed the capability to import photos manually with a cable...can they?? especially as photo stream has not worked for me at all, and it is extremely limited anyway...

  • Ipod and iphoto

How do i stop iphoto from launching when I connect the ipod? I am using itune for all things ipod, so just dont need the iphoto to open.
    Thanks in advance

I have a similar problem, but my iPod won't show up in iTunes, only iPhoto.
I've just updated some graphic design software on my computer and that's when the problems started. I have no idea what to do next.
Also, the photos transferred from my iPod were created in a Doodle App and I can't delete them from iPhoto (probably another problem that needs another question!).

  • Trouble importing stored photos from 60g ipod to iphoto.

I downloaded 500 photos while on vacation to 60 g ipod. I go to iphoto and select import which opens a window but don't know where to locate the stored photos.
    imac G5 and 60g ipod   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Hello there.
Your photos will be stored on your iPod in a folder, much like they have already been saved on a hard drive. From the Finder, locate your iPod icon. If you do not see one, you need to go into iTunes, go to the iPod preferences and tell it to mount on your desktop.
Once you see the iPod folder on your desktop, double click it to open, and locate the folder that contains the photos you stored on it. Drag this folder to your iPhoto window, and they will be imported.
If you find this useful or if it solves your problem, please indicate this by clicking in the appropriate icon above this reply.

No. As of right now, it can only be done manually. See this Apple support document for instructions on how to do this.

  • Yosemite: connecting iPod launches iPhoto

Since upgrading to Yosemite, every time I connect my iPod Touch via USB, iPhoto launches. This never happened before (in Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks).  I use a late 2012 Mac Mini.
A web search suggested that iPhoto's preferences need to be set for "connecting camera launches no application," but it is in fact set that way.
I can't find any relevant preferences settings anywhere else.
How can I stop this from happening?

This sounds like a "feature" and not a bug. I think that you inadvertently took a snapshot of your screen or saved a picture while in the Safari browser - quite easy to do without realizing it, really.
If I'm right - it's trying to help you import the photo. While in iPhoto, you should see be seeing that the current roll is "unfiled" and that there's one snapshot (or more, if you took more) in the folder being displayed.
You need to either import it, or find the new photo on your iPod among your photo collection and delete it. Once either of these are done, then iPhoto won't launch on each connect in order to facilitate importing this new picture.
I find it hard to remember how to delete a photo on the Touch each time this happens to me, but I'm sure it'll come back to me someday!

  • How to transfer photos from iPod to iPhoto

I was in the iPhoto discussion but was asked to come here so here I am. I accidentally deleted all my photos from iPhoto but the good news is that all the same photos are in my 60gb iPod Video. How can I transfer them back to my iPhoto? I'm afraid to connect my iPhoto to my iTunes for fear that all my photos from my iPod would be deleted. What should I do? Please help me!!!!!

If you know how to do this would you be able to show with pictures as steps? That would be much appreciated. If you can't that is fine.
