Ipod to itunes/transfer purchases

I'm trying to add songs to my itunes from my ipod by doing the "transfer purchases" methods but it won't transfer. I get the message at the top of itunes that says it's transferring but nothing happens/changes as far as I can see. Am I missing something? Itunes will check for photos/videos on my ipod nano but nothing else happens.

If the file is corrupted in some way you'll most likely have to put the iPod in Manual mode and delete it unfortunately. Further down in the article is this passage "To prevent future issues, you should delete the unusable files, then restore them from a backup". The problem then might be do you have a back up or not?

Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync

if there any wy to transfer music ipod to ipod if yuo dont have you library? also i deleted my library becuase of lack of space, and i was wondering if i can get all the stuff off my ipod and onto another computer.

HT1296 can I transfer music from ipod to itunes after reinstalling itunes on computer?

Recently had to factory restore my computer after detecting a nasty bug which wiped out everything I had on my computer. Is there a way to download my music from my Ipod touch to my computer? I haven't had any luck by plugging my Ipod to the computer via USB cord and am wondering if there is a way to do it at all without having to manually download the cd's myself? Thanks!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.

Normally. When you plug in your ipod then go iTunes "File" -> "Transfer Purchases". The purchases files from ipod will be copied to your iTunes autoly. Will iTunes' "Transfer Purchases" option (which I know works with music and videos) also work with mobile apps? Meaning, if I have several apps on a mobile device, and somehow my computer is reformatted or erased, can I use Transfer Purchases to get the apps off that mobile device and back into the computer?

I purchased a book from iTune Store for my iPod. Can it be used on my iPad as well as my iPod? If so, how do I get it onto the iPad? It doesn't show up in my iTunes selection.

Can I merge 2 itune account purchases?

I have made apps 'business' purchases on my laptop with my apple ID. My business iPod touch has these apps and basically nothing else.
My wife buys songs and video with her iTunes/Apple ID and puts those purchases on her iMac a home.
Can I merge my bought apps into her computer and have it associated with her computer, so that I can have my apps and her songs on my iPod. Any further purchase will be through her iTunes ID. I would just print out the business purchases and get reimbursed from the business office.

Yes. Authorize (iTunes menu Store > Authorize) her computer with the iTunesID you purchased these apps with. Connect your iPod then File -> Transfer purchases.

It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.

'Transfer Purchases' doesn't include apps?

When transferring purchases from my iPad back to the computer, I always have to do it twice: once for music, videos and books, once for apps. Is this normal? Shouldn't all transfers be done at once?

Just in case I wasn't clear before, let me be clear now. If I have a cleanly installed system and I hook up my iPad, then transfer all the purchases from it (using iTunes' "Transfer Purchases" option), at first it will only transfer songs, videos and books. If I want to transfer iPad apps, I have to select the option again.
Why do I have to do this? I mean, it's not a great inconvenience or anything like that, I'm just curious.

     My iPod Classic 80gb will not transfer purchases to my iTunes library. When I click the "Transfer Purchase" button, it says it's working, but then I get a pop-up which reads 'Attempting to copy the disk "OS" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69)', and following that pop-up is another pop-up, which reads 'The iPod "William's iPod" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-69).
     I need to transfer the purchases, because I had to restore my laptop (Which is a PC, by the way) to the original factory settings, and I had to re-download iTunes. When I re-downloaded it, I logged in and everything, but all my music was missing. I clicked the "Purchase History" button in the account part, and I clicked the "Download" button in order to regain my lost music, and I waited about 45 minutes or so, only to come back to iTunes saying it had finished, when it had only re-downloaded 75 of my 279 songs.
     After this, I went into the help section of iTunes. In that, I clicked "Manage your media files," and from there, I clicked on "Find iTunes files." So, I did what it told me to do, which was to run a full scan on my PC, and I looked everywhere I could think of, and everywhere iTunes suggested my missing music might be located, only to find that I wasted my time.
     I am a musician, I CRAVE the music I listen to, and I'm constantly finding new stuff to listen to and research, and if I can't transfer my purchases or sync my device to my library, then that means I can't get new music to listen to on the go, and for me, that is an extreme issue. Obviously, restoring my device is not an option, because I have nothing to sync it to to get my music back.
     Please, if anyone can help me with my situation, I'd be forever grateful.

Laptop- PC, Dell XPS15, has Windows 7, has an intel Core i5 processor, only about 2 and a half months old.
iPod- iPod Classic, 80-gigabytes, I've had it for, going on 5 and 1/4 years now, give or take a few months.
