IPod, top and bottom case clicks

I just have noticed after about 3 months of having my ipod that when I go to take it out of the sleeve it came with, when I push up from the bottom I heard a click. Later I found out that the White top of the case was being pushed under the chrome. When looking at the dock connector as this is happening I saw that the connector was moving up and down. Is this a cause for concern? IS there something I should do?

Should I do something?

    On a 1st Gen white Macbook, just wondering if its hard to replace a top and bottom case? Also, are the parts expensive? Thanks (Thinking of doing it on my own)

  • Battery case split, top and bottom warped - replacement

    My Macbook Pro 15" battery, while being charged, split, with the metal plate where the power test button is located separating from the rest of the battery case. The battery is significantly warped towards the middle on the top and bottom. When installed in the Macbook Pro, the warping forces the keyboard, mousepad and mousepad up, jamming the mouse button down, making the Macbook Pro inoperable. I purchased the battery in late 2007 from an authorized Apple distributor (there's no Apple store in my state). The authorized distributor says there's "nothing they can do" because the battery is out of warranty. I'd guess it has 125-150 charge cycles. The failure appears to be a serious manufacturing defect.I see a couple of other similar experiences, but Apple's editing makes it tough to tell how it got resolved. Can anyone offer any help?

    I'll second what Neuro said. Note... It is not uncommon for a first level support person to ask for the battery serial number and enter it into their system. If it is not listed in their database, they may tell you that they cannot replace the battery. Batteries are generally considered consumable items and as such, support almost always says the battery isn't covered. You may need to escalate the call. I have seen consistent comments from people who were told initially that their battery was not covered... but after subsequent conversations they did, in fact, replace it. You just need to reach someone familiar with this particular problem.

  • Set top and bottom inset spacing values in Text Frame Options via jsx script

    I am looking for a way to set the top and bottom inset spacing values only to 2 points in Text Frame Options via a .jsx scrpt.
    For years, I have used a script that sets Preferences, such as:
    with(app.storyPreferences){
        opticalMarginAlignment = false;
        opticalMarginSize = 12;                // pts
    I would like to add the code to this same script that would make Top = 0p2 and Bottom 0p2 but leave Left and Right as 0p0.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Here is the full .jsx file that we now use to set preferences.
    Ideally, this could be modified to include setting any text frame created to have 0p2 inset Top and Bottom, but 0p0 Left and Right:

  • ITouch song sorting, scrolling-sidebar doesn't scroll past A; doesn't skip past top and bottom?

    Gahh you know how on an iTouch / iPhone, if the songs are sorted alphabetically, you can touch the letter on the right side to skip to that letter in your song library? Here's a picture of my screen (same image as below): http://i45.tinypic.com/2ztlkrl.png
    SO here's what's wrong with this:
    -the songs start at letter A, but the silver bar that usually should say A on it, says Z instead
    -when i click on the right sidebar for other letters, it stays on THIS EXACT SCREEN and doesn't skip to any other letters
    -HOWEVER it does scroll/skip to the bottom...so I can basically only get to the top and bottom of my songs
    (I already checked that my iTunes is sorted alphabetically and correctly, tried restarting it, restarted the program, resynced, but none of this works)...
    Please help me!! Has this happened to your iPod Touch/ iPhone before?? Thanks!
    (notice the Z in place of where the A should be..)

    The first thing you've got to check is your video drivers.

    I upgraded Firefox to the newest version (4 I think it was from 3). Now my "add-on" no longer appears"at the bottom" of the screen, only at the top. Do I need to go back to the older version in order for the add-on to show at top and bottom? If so, how do I do that if I decide to do it?

  • How to align text at the top and bottom of a cell?

    I'm making a periodic table and need help with aligning text at the top and bottom of a cell. I'll have a picture in the middle of the cell with text above and below the pic. Thank you in advance for any kind of suggestions you can give me.

    It sounds as though you want to have 3 separate items inside of a single cell; text at the top of the cell, text at the bottom of the cell, and then a picture in the middle of the cell.  I am no expert, but to my knowledge that is not possible (someone please correct me if I am wrong.)  I also cannot figure out how to put a picture inside of a cell itself.
    I do have a way to accomplish the end result so long as what you need is the final look and not a useable table in numbers.
    Create 2-3 cells for each element.  (The middle cell, unless you can put pictures in a cell and I don't know, would just be there for peace of mind, but would hold the picture if you can, I would just do two if the pictures are to be in front of the cell anyway.)  The top cell align text to top on the Text tab of the inspector.  The bottom cell, align text to bottom on the same tab.  Then place the picture in the middle.  Now, you have what you want except there is one or two lines dividing the cells.  To get rid of this, either click the middle cell if you have one, or the top or bottom cell.  Click on the Cell tab of the inspector.  Select the bottom border and/or top border button and select "No Border" under border styles.  To make this fast, select a full row at a time, or use command click to select all of the same type of rows (middle, top, or bottom) and change all cells at once.
    I hope this helps.  Best of luck!

  • HT202879 how do i add a line to the top and bottom of a text box only

    i have a text box in my Pages document but i need to be able to add a line tot he top and bottom only to my text box. can i pleae get some help.

    Hello alegna23,
    To add a line just to the top and bottom of a text box, you will need to add the two lines as shapes.  Follow the steps below to add a line to your document:
    Add a shape
    Click Shape in the toolbar.Click the arrows to see more shape styles.
    Select a shape to add it to the page.
    In step 2, select a line and use the squares on the end of the line to help resize the line.  You can find the full article here:

    In Reporting Services (SSRS 2008), there are white spaces preserved in the report body by default. When the white space extends the body size beyond the width of the report, blank pages will be generated. To avoid the issue, you can set the “ConsumeContainerWhiteSpace”
    property of the report to “True”.
    Please try to adjust your margins (top + side) and hopefully this problem will get resolved
    Body Width <= Page Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin)
    Horizontal usable area:
    X = Page.Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin + Column Spacing)
    Vertical usable area:
    Y = Page.Height - (Top Margin + Bottom Margin + Header Height + Footer Height)
    Body Width <= Page Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin)
    Horizontal usable area:
    X = Page.Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin + Column Spacing)
    Vertical usable area:
    Y = Page.Height - (Top Margin + Bottom Margin + Header Height + Footer Height)
    If you have any questions please ask.
    Many Thanks

  • Why does the top and bottom of my clips get cut off?

    Hi, I'm new to iMovie and I've encountered an annoying problem. I imported all my movie files from my flash drive without any issues. I dragged a clip from the section with all the clips to the play reel. I previewed the clip, both normal screen and full screen, and both times the top and bottom of the clip was cut off. I tried it again with different clips but the same thing kept happening? Can anyone tell me why this happens because my head keeps getting cut off and I don't like it one bit.

    First, you can go into File/Project Preferences and adjust the aspect ratio of your project to either widescreen (16:9) or standard (4:3), to match your footage.
    You can combine footage that is widescreen and standard in the same project. In this case, you have to tell imovie how to handle the clips that do not fit the overall project aspect ratio. To do this, you can select a clip in your project and use the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool. If you select FIT, it will preserve the whole frame by inserting black bars (letterboxing). If you select CROP it will cut off the top and bottom. You can select the default for this in Project Properties.

  • IWeb not publishing edited "top" and "bottom" page backgrounds

    I have edited the page background for the "Layered Paper" theme to fit an 800px space (up from 700px). The backgrounds display correctly in iWeb, but in Safari, only the middle image is the correct 800px format. The top and bottom both display the old 700px image as a "tile."
    I have emptied Safari's cache and deleted the original 700px images from the iWeb theme folder. This also occurs under IE8. Any ideas?
    site: carl.stoneh.am

    Yes. I edited those files directly (after backing up the originals in case something went wrong).
    I did discover a tutorial online that suggested just dragging the "new" header footer into iWeb, so I tried that out. If you visit the "CV" age, you'll see that the header works just fine (I left the footer alone for testing purposes). I guess that will do as a stopgap, but I'm still curious as to why iWeb used the correct image file in the program but published it to MobileMe using a 700px width. Is this perhaps something that's just hard-coded in the program, and changing the width of a page doesn't "correctly" publish larger images for the header and footer (unless they're just gradients, etc)?

  • How do I reverse the full screen view to get my top and bottom menu listings?

    I clicked that button to view full screen hoping it meant to get rid of all the stuff that was on the screen, but instead it removed the top and bottom bars that have my buttons I need. ie the bottom has the toolbar and I like the top menu bar back. How to do I get it back?

    Hi abcdef123,
    Try hitting F11 or moving your cursor to the upper right hand corner of the scree to expose the page controls, then clicking on ''restore''.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Is it Possible to set Top and Bottom Margin for each section?

    I've been googling and haven't found an answer to this problem.
    I need to specify a different top and bottom margin for each section in my document. The "document margins" apply to the whole document, so I've set those to a low amount, and I can set the Layout Left and right margins - but the "Layout Margins" do not allow "top and bottom" only "before and after". This is a critical difference, because if you have 2 pages in a section, only the first page gets the "before" margin, and only the 2nd page gets the "after" margin. This is a little odd, and I'm frankly surprised we are in version 4 of this app - and you can't set top and bottom margins for each section.
    If you insert a "layout break" on each page, then you can get the margins to reset for each page inside a section, but this is not an acceptable workaround as I need to setup templates for staff to use that will "flow" like a normal word processor.
    Does any one have any suggestions?

    On page 49 in the English Guide version it tells you about Lay-out margins. This is the text

    I hope this helps.

    Oh wow, looks like a new feature.
    The "page" links in a stylesheet with the address "resource://gre/res/TopLevelImageDocument.css". If you remove that reference, then the image displays in the old style.
    '''''Edit: Please skip the rest of this post and check out the next one.'''''
    There might be a more elegant solution than that, but you could use a bookmarklet to strip out that link when you want to view the page in its old style. A bookmarklet is a snippet of JavaScript you save on the Bookmarks toolbar for quick access.
    First, copy the following code to the clipboard (it's all one long line):
    <br>javascript:var ssheet=document.querySelector('link[href="resource://gre/res/TopLevelImageDocument.css"]'); if(ssheet)ssheet.parentNode.removeChild(ssheet); void 0;
    Next, if you are not displaying the Bookmarks Toolbar, use View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar to display it. (If you aren't using the classic Menu bar, press Alt+v to call up the old View menu. Right-clicking the gray area just below the page address also allows you to display the Bookmarks Toolbar.)
    Right-click on the Bookmarks Toolbar (or Mac equivalent of right-click!) and choose New Bookmark.
    Paste the code into the Location box (the second box).
    Then type a useful name in the Name box (e.g., Oldstyle Picture) and click Add.
    Now, when you want to tweak the image display, click the button to run the script.
    Manual clicking is a hassle, so it might make sense to look into other solutions. (Greasemonkey didn't seem to work; I think it might not run on .jpg files.)
