IPod Touch 16GB stuck at Boot Logo

My iPod Touch 1st Generation 16GB is stuck at the Apple logo. One day I turned it on... and it stayed at the Apple logo. I managed to get it into Restore Mode (iTunes sign and iPod cable), but none of my computers recognised it. It didn't show up at all on Mac OS or Windows. Any ideas?
Edit: After about 10 minutes of being plugged into the computer, the small white clickwheel appeared over the top of the Apple logo, but it was laggy (didn't spin smoothly at all). My computer still didn't detect anything.

In that case, have a look at the ipod repair pricing here. http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/#australia
Good luck

My ipod touch 2g (that i got from a friend, says he got it wet from the rain) when turned on stays on the apple logo for aprox 10-15 minutes, goes white screen for about a second then starts over repeating the process. I have can put it into recovery mode and try to restore it (I have restored about 5 times) but when the restore is done the thing just starts the infinate boot logo process again. sorry for the inconvenience but I just want to try to get this thing booted up.
    Thanks Jake.

You can try letting the battery full drain. Then charge for at least an hour and try restoring to factory defaults/new iPod. However, I suspect the water permently damaged the iPod.

i pod touch is stuck on apple logo.  power/home doesn't do anything.  not recognized on computer or itunes.  what now?

Make sure you are holding power/home button for at least 15-sec. If that does not work, let the unit go dead. Then recharge it and retroubleshoot it.

  • My iPod touch is stuck on apple logo and isn't recognized by iTunes

My iPod touch gets stuck on the apple logo and won't let me get to the home screen. I tried plugging it into iTunes but It was not recognized. When I hold the power button down it tells me to charge it. When I do it gets stuck on the apple logo again. Please help!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • IPod touch 2G stuck in boot loop

My iPod touch 2G 16GB is stuck in a boot loop: I see the apple logo, after a while the screen goes blank, and then the apple logo appears again.
How can I restore it now? Is there a way to do a "safe boot"? Resetting using hold and home for 10+ seconds yields the same result.
As for how I got there: an app complained about being "out of space" yesterday and today, but checking the general information stated some 50 MB of free space. Later today Mail.app couldn't move a mail into the trash, and deleting mails in the trash was not possible, either. So I decided to reboot the iPod, and I'm stuck since.

Many thanks for your help! I had to do it in a slightly different order (press hold and down for 20 secs, once the IPT tunrs off, let go of all buttons, then press home and keep it pressed, then connect to USB, keep home pressed until "connect to iTunes" appears), put your post was what put me on the right track!
    Many thanks again!

  • Ipod touch 4g stuck on book logo and wont connect to itunes, also computer sees it as a t mobile mytouch???

ipod touch 4g will only turn on when connected to the wall outlet OR I have a portable charger plugged into it and I can plug into PC that way. Computer sees it as T mobile mytouch and asks me to install drivers for it. iTunes doesnt see it at all. My ipod is now stuck on apple boot logo. I can get to itunes restore screen but computer wont recognize it to restore it to set up. Should I just junk it? iOS 4.2.1

    Start here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    Then try a restore.
You may also have to place the iPod in Recovery mode or DFU mode to allow a restore

  • IPod Touch 4G Stuck On Apple Logo Screen

So I just recently jail broke my iPod touch 4G and was using iFile to delete some default apps and stuff that was taking up space on my device.  I only need to use the Music app, so all of the other default apps can be erased.  I must have accidentally deleted something in regards to the music app because I am not able to transfer music onto the device using iTunes.  I turned my iPod off then and turned it back on and this is where the major problem came in.  It's stuck on the Apple Logo screen and will not boot back up or anything.  I have tried putting it in DFU mode and doing every kind of reset or restore and none of that has worked.  Now it doesn't even show up in iTunes.  Unfortunately I don't remember every thing I deleted when using iFile, so I cannot provide much information regarding that.  My iPod has worked perfectly fine until I jail broke it, which I probably shouldn't have even done but none the less if someone has any possible genius solution to my problem, I would appreciate you leaving a comment.  Thanks.

  • Ipod touch 5thgen stuck on Apple logo after updating to IOS 6.1

I updated my ipod touch to the latest version 6.1 and after updating it restarted and was frozen at the apple logo screen since Monday. I tried calling Apple Support and they went through the steps of getting into recovery mode as well as trying to reboot my ipod touch but I first had to update & restore first through iTunes. I wasn't able to update because my connection kept timing out so I decided to download the ipsw file from this website: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
After waiting a whole day for the download(because my internet connection is really slow), iTunes said that the ipod could not be restored because firmware was not compatible. I tried both version 6.0.0 and 6.0.1 and both came with that error notice. I don't know what to do now and I really need some help! I've tried holding the home+lock key many times and went through the whole procedure but nothign seems to work. It already says that my ipod updated to 6.1 but its just stuck at the apple logo. Help me Please!!!

  • Ipod touch is stuck on apple logo except when connect to computer

I have an Ipod touch 3G 32gb.  When you try to wake the ipod from sleep the home button will not work.  When you push the power button the apple logo will come on for approx. 30 sec and then it will go to a black screen.  Everytime I hit the power button this occurs.  I have done a restore and as long as it is connected to the computer it will boot up.  As soon as I disconnect it and it goes into sleep mode, the cycle starts all over again.  Any suggestions?

If it is still doing it after a restore, you most likely have a hardware issue.
