SO MY COUSIN GAVE ME HER IPOD TOUCH 1ST GEN AFTER SHE WIPED IT ALL OUT. SO NOW WHEN I PLUG IT UP TO THE COMPUTER ALL IT SHOWS IS A USB AND A ITUNES ICON. IM LOST?? I ALREADY DOWNLOADED ITUNES ON MY COMPUTER BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE IPOD WILL NOT SHOW UP ON MY COMPUTER AT ALL ???????????? HELP !!!!!!!!!!!

Help! ipod touch 1st generation cannot be recognized by iTunes

I tried to upgrade my ipod touch (1st generation) using itunes, but it failed. I forgot the error code. After that, my ipod touch cannot be recognized by iTunes any longer. Every time when I open the ipod touch, it shows the graph of a CD and an ipod touch cable, looks like this:

Thank you. That symbol appeared in my ipod touch. I tried to uninstall itunes and reinstall it. But it does not help. Also tried the one mentioned in "Restart iPod touch" in that link, it does not work either.

- I would start with the following unless you revoed and reinstall all Apple software, not just iTunes:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I don't know if it's important but I tryed to install Installer (the old and hacker store with some poor apps) but I coudn't, and an weird app called Zibri's Blog is in it and I can't erase... After charging the iPod for a couple of hours, place the iPod in DFU moade and they connect to your computer and try to restore via iTunes.

plugged ipod touch 1st gen in to computer wont register that its even plugged into itunes the ipod touch charges when I plugged it in just wont register with itunes and itunes syncs with my other ipod just not with this one.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

IPod Touch 1st generation won't connect to wifi

I recently purchased a used iPod touch 1st generation and it will recognize the networks but gives error "unable to join network.". I have reset the phone by pressing home and power and have reset the network also. Turning the phone off and on doesn't work either. I will show the network but not any information. Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router

The 1st gen iPod touch (like the 1st gen iPhone) can run up to iOS 3.1.3 (called "iPhone OS" back then), but not later iOS releases. If that iPod touch you purchased has an earlier release of iOS installed, you can upgrade it

Since you already purchased the iPod touch, I would wait until you receive it, upgrade the OS if necessary, and then see what it can do with the built-in software. You can install apps from the App Store, but it is somewhat difficult to finds apps that support the old hardware and iOS these days.

Cannot connect to ITUNES store on IPOD touch 1st generation?

I have an Apple IPOD Touch, 1st generation. I can no longer connect to the ITUNES store. IPOD is almost 4 years old. I've re-set the network settings, (not the actual IPOD itself, would prefer not to do that). I do have internet and all else works fine. IPOD is in great condition and has always been well taken care of. Any helpful hints? IPOD is out of warranty.
