IPod touch 2.0 Mail crashing

Hi,
I've sucessfully created a MobileMe and Exchange account on my 2.0 iPod touch. Everything worked fine for a while. But now Mail crashes every time I try to open it. When I launch Mail it starts refreshing/syncing mails (you see the spinning wheel) and after a while it switches back to the app screen. As soon as I deactivate the mail option from the Exchange account, Mail works as expected.
Anyone else having this?

I had this multiple times. Two times I was able to fix this in "just" remove MobileMe and the Exchange account. But this time the problem continues to exist. I've worked around this in using IMAP for E-Mail and Exchange for Contacts/Appointments. However since we're using PostPath instead of "real" Exchange contacts won't sync anyway.
Since I don't want to restore my whole iPod once a day I will stay with the IMAP workaround and hope that this will be fixed in 2.0.1

You can try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

Ipod touch 3rd gen keeps crashing after 4.2.1 update

so I downloaded the new iOS 4.2.1 update and ever since then my ipod touch 3rd generation (which is a refurb by the way) kept crashing -- didn't matter what app it was on (even on some of the programmed in apps), it would just crash and go back to the home screen. and whenever I'd be scrolling through any list, it would freeze up and take a second or two to scroll. it also would just randomly stop playing music, even if it was disconnected from the computer. it's been a severe pain in the butt and VERY frustrating!! i talked to several friends and they said it wasn't just me, the same thing had been happening to them. just wondering if anyone had found a cure yet?

Try letting your iPod run to flat battery (where it turns its self off) and then charge it fully without playing with it for that time
you may have to repeat this 2-4 times

My iPod Touch 4th Generation keeps crashing and slowing down

I have an iPod touch 4g 8Gb. I've got it i think 2 years ago. Maybe even 3 I'm not sure. it is running IOS 6.1.6 . I never had problems with IOS 6 like other people said. It was perfectly fine. Until IOS7 came out.(I know it is not capable with iPod Touch 4) I restored it made sure background app refresh wasn't on and everything you can think of but it didn't seem to help. I have no clue about what the problem is. it has space in it. There are like 3 games Facebook and Skype only. I don't know how I could speed it up. I would highly appreciate it if anyone helped me with this problem. Thank you

I actually restored and set it up like a brand new iPod 3 months ago and never used it afterward. I feel like Apple made the iPods extremely slower after the IOS7 came out, because it wasn't that slow and crashing before IOS 7 was released. Anyway I assume that there are no solutions for my problem. Thanks.

It might mean that it is currently syncing. You can wait for it for a few seconds or could be a minute or 2.

Ipod touch prob w/ mail icon

my mail icon on ipod touch used to go directly to my mail. Now it leads to an error message: [ "cannot get mail." user name/password for Verizon is incorrect.]
But if I go in through Safari & Verizon site, etc. I can eventually access email. Is there a way to fix this?

Go to Settings>Mail>Verizon account and delete and reenter the password.
Next look for other errors in the settings.
Last, delete the account from the iPod and reenter the settings.

3rd Gen 32GB iPod Touch Caushes iTunes to crash when connected.

I just bougth a brand new iPod touch 32GB model Number A1318
I connected it to my iMac with OS X 10.6.1 and iTunes 9.0
It detects the new iPod touch and activate it.
But itunes crashes, so I can not sinc with it.
How do I fix this?
I tried reinstalling iTunes and iPod support from the Snow Leopard DVD, with no luck.

I just want to get in on this one as well because I have the exact same problem. (ipod touch 3rd gen -recently purchased- itunes 9.01 crashes)
When I go to sync my ipod, iphoto will open by default. I am able to see my ipod in the iphoto device list, but I cannot access it - I can only eject it. What is more, itunes will always crash at the same time. I am unable to reopen it.
The only workaround I have right now is that if I delete all the content/settings on my ipod, I am able to re-sync it with itunes. The next time I want to sync it however, I will have to repeat the reset (not ideal!).
If anyone has any help I would appreciate it.

My 2nd gen iPod touch's music app crashes

It will crash as soon as a song is selected while headphones are plugged in. It won't even go to the Now Playing screen; it will just hang on the highlighted song for a few seconds and then crash. Works fine when nothing is plugged in, though. Sometimes it will work completely fine, but after restoring the iPod, the problem seems to have worsened after a day of perfect operation.
The iPod was a gift from a friend, and he had it for a while, so I don't think there's a warranty on it anymore. Help please??

If yu still have a problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod Touch 32 GB keeps crashing Itunes

And please, no, "This is happening to me, too" answers. I want to resolve this now!
Back history- A virus destroyed my computer so i had to restore it. I reinstalled Itunes. So, I put my ipod touch in the USB, I tried to sync a movie or mp3 file and it crashes. This NEVER happened to me before.
And yes, I did a restore on my ipod touch, that was fine but I am STILL unable to sync anything onto my ipod touch. I am able to put files on my Ipod classic, ipod nano, though.
No way am I going to replace it. The ipod touch STILL works, just won't sync anything!

You need to make sure that Apple Mobile Device Services (AMDS) is running properly on your computer. Read through this article and follow the troubleshooting steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
If you have to re-install iTunes, you need to use the Control Panel and completely remove AMDS, iTunes, and QuickTime and then reboot your computer. Then download and install iTunes.

Why does my Ipod touch Music/Video apps crash after update to OS4

Updated Ipod touch (64GB) yesterday to OS4. Today I cant run the Music or the Video apps. They will LOAD, but after 3 seconds, the crash. Any ideas?
Ive tried to do the reboot thing (DFU??) that I saw in another post but same issue.
Tried a search several times but have not seen any posts so far with this particular issue.

I'm having the same issue as well, I'm currently at work so as of right now I can't try to restore mine, but the strange thing with mine is that I updated mine the day the iOS 4.0 came out and had no problems until last night. Now the music and video sections keep crashing after just a few seconds. Also all my Podcast are gone, the only things missing and I even re-downloaded them last night and they're still gone.

I have had it for about 3 years now. I have the latest version i can possibly update to...
Over the past few months, it has been giving me a fit. Its seems like it has gotten worse...it crashes no matter what app i go to (except a few built in apps that are not very busy, like calculator). Sometimes I may be able to be on an app for 10 minutes without crashing, while other apps wont even let me get to a menu before it crashes. Even some built in apps like safari does it. I'm not sure what to do. Is this normal for the latest version a 2nd gen ipod touch can get? What can I do about this?

Ipod touch Out going mail problems

Prior to downloading 2.0 for my Ipod touch I had no troubles sending emails via my verizon DSL. I put 2.0 up on the ipod I can not send emails. I have tried to redo the setings, but the ones that show are correct. I have searched the ipod mail help site and can not find any ideas to resolve the problem. Any thoughts?

This probably won't be helpful but you can try restarting it, when you have it on hold the home screen button and the power button at the same time and keep them held down until you see the apple logo and if it asks you: "do you want to power off?" don't pay an =y attention to it

IPod Touch 4G, "Video" program crashes after Update to iOS 4.2

After updating iPod Touch 4G to iOS4.2 the program "videos" just crashes.
Details: I can sync the iPod touch with the computer and the videos reappear on first launch of "videos". All videos play o.k. Second launch of "videos" gives me a white screen for several seconds, then "videos" crashes. Every time I launch it, it keeps crashing.
There are 2 conditions that make them reappear and "videos" runs normally (but only once!):
Method 1: Sync with my MacBook
Method 2: I fully close the program "Videos", then change language on the iPod touch to english (any other language seems to work, too. It's the change that seems to be important). Launching "videos" after that successfully shows all my videos. Second launch and the crash is back. Every time. Until I change the language again.
I tried full restore, and I tried Resetting the iPod, both with no success.
BTW: The Video Files are o.k., I can launch them using playlists and they work just fine.
This is really strange. Can anyone help?
Or, can anyone help how to revert back to iOS 4.1?

Very annoying problem and it hasn't been solved in the new iOS 4.3 either!!
After two genius appointments, no solution has been offered from Apple, only a new device, which unfortunately came with iOS 4.2 installed, so I couldn't even leave it on the old iOS 3 and not update it. Although having said that, on this device the Video app was working, but only every other time. Weird I know! But now it won't work at all after the newest update... back to square one.
There are work arounds though, as mentioned in the above posts, if you change the music videos into films then they work perfectly.
Strange how it's only Music Vids that seem to cause this problem!?

Purchasing iPod Touch upgrade (maps, mail, etc...) with 1.1.4 firmware

Hello,
I recently restored my iPod Touch which was in 1.1.1 firmware from iTunes. iTunes automatically upgraded it to 1.1.4.
Now, I would like to purchase the software upgrade with maps, mail, etc...
But I can't see any button on the iTunes iPod main screen... What am I missing?

I would think it might be a good time to wait just a while. Until the 2.0 Upgrade is released in "July". Without speculating on a date, I will say the iPhone3G is set to be released on the 11th.
Waiting stinks, but who knows? You may get lucky on this one.

Hi, My 4g iPod touch updated with IOS 5.1 is unusable because each application unexpectedly quits! even more common as mail and messages.
It has 6 months, I restored once before but the problem persists
is necessary for me to take him in for service? in Genoa there are Apple stores cone should I do?

If you only restored from backup try restoring to factory defaults/new iPod. If you still have the problem than an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
