IPod Touch 2G - many apps won't work

I set restrictions on my daughter's iPod and forgot the password. As far as I know, the only way to reset it is by doing a factory restore without a backup from my Mac.
If I do a factory restore on my iPod Touch 2G I am afraid many of my apps, even paid ones will not work anymore since they have since been upgraded and my iTunes does not contain the old versions anymore.
Right now, if the iPod syncs it simply states that some apps could not be installed, but at least it will not delete any of the older (working) ones.
Any advice ?
PS:
I know about Apple's 'we support the current plus 2 generations back' versions, but the Touch 2G is not so much different from the iPhone 3GS and that phone still got the IOS 6 upgrade.
If Apple would at least make IOS 4.3 available for the iPod Touch 2G.

CAUTION
Before you restore the iPod make sure that your iTunes library has the version of apps that are presently installed on your iPod. As you know, many apps have been update and the update apps are not compatible with the 2G iPod. I would do that by deleting the apps from your iTunes library and then transfer them to iTunes. See:

In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

I think you mean the cable. Yes, that is covered by the warranty that comes with the iPod. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. If defective and not abused and within warranty, Apple will replace the cable.

New iPod 5 gen and apps won't work, and when I take photos in the camera roll they show up when I click the preview in the left bottom corner but not in the photo album in the photos app, frozen a lot and resets it self a lot when it's frozen! Please help

My brand new iPod touch 5th gen (silver) i use it a lot and I take really great care if it but just today it's been acting really slow, freezing up all the time, it won't let me open up apps, the notification bar (dragged down) all gone (no markets/weather/noticfications) and never says anything, and the camera. Camera is really bugging me, when you go in the app "camera" I tooka photo, and I went to the left bottom corner and clicked that preview, it shows all the photos there, but it won't let you edit them, share or delete them. But when you go into the photos app, and go to camera roll they aren't there at all.
When I try to open apps, they freeze and then I try to move/delete them and then it freezes, and stops everything. Shuts down, and restarts and like nothing's happened.
Please, this is my first iPod and I really care about this so so much. Please somebody help me with something!!!! Please!!!!

Ipod touch 5th Gen App Store not working

I just reset my ipod touch and I am trying to login to the App Store, I am already logged into my icloud that I used before resetting my ipod, I tried to log in but it said it didn't exist, so I got on my laptop and made a new account, and when I tried to log in, again it said it didn't exist. So I decided to try and make a new one again on my phone, but everytime I typed in an email it said it existed already I even typed in random letters and numbers several times and it still says the ID is in use.I am going on a vacation soon and I want games to play

I was updating my itouch that I got in September to the IOS 5 and everything went fine until the end of the update when it was creating a new back-up of the information on the itouch. When I saw that it didn't work and it told me to restore the previous bakc-up I tried that, but nothing happened. Itunes was doing a lot of work but my ipod touch didn't show that anything was happening. My ipod touch wants me to go back through the set up and when it gets to the part where you can restore a previous back-up I tell it to do that. The problem then is that it tells you to connect it to itunes and I do but the itouch doesn't seem to realize that it is plugged into itunes. Then I try to restore the old back-up form itunes and it immeadiately pops up saying htat it can't because of error: ipod (-50).

IPod Touch 4G Wi-Fi Won't Work

Hi!
My iPod Touch 4g always worked perfectly with everyone their Wi-Fi ( Summervacation USA: wifi worked, other places in Holland: wifi works )except at my own Network/Router/Wifi thingy... :
1. I click on settings
2. Click on Wifi
3. Connecting to my Router / Wifi thingy / Network ( Including typing right password )
4. It got connected, even has the wifi icon next to iPod ( what's standing above left , sry for my horrible english ) that shows Im connected.
5. When I click on Safari it keeps saying: NO CONNECTION, also Facetime, e-mail, Twitter, MSN....IT wont work
Also something that looks like a circle keeps spinning around next to the name of my Network...
But the network is working perfectly fine, my laptop is connected to the same and here the internet does work... BUT FOR MY IPOD TOUCH 4G......:( IT SOOO FRUSTRATING!!
Hope someone has an answer for this cuz im just hopeless... PLEASE HELP ME

HT1438 ipod touch got wet and won't work

My daughter dropped her ipod in the toilet...nice...now it won't work properly even after we dried it off and put the ipod in rice overnight.

Overnight probably don't do any good. Let it dry in rice for three or four days at least. Then try the iPod again. If it will fails, it's almost certainly damaged and you'll have to take or send it to Apple and pay their out-of-warranty replacement charge.

New iPod touch 5th generation charger won't work with computers or USB power adapter?

I just got this charger less than two weeks ago and just yesterday it started saying "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work on this iPod." It will only work on some occasions, but most of the time it won't. Other times it will show that it is charging, but when I select to "Trust" my computer it stops charging. When I plug it into the USB power adapter, it rarely works (even when I try it in different outlets.) Any way to solve this issue?

IPod touch 4G FaceTime/Message won't work

I have been trying for a while it get my son's iPod 4G to work with FaceTime but have had problems.
I click FaceTime, hit the button that says "get started"
Sign in and get to, "people will call you using this email address"
I click "next", it says "verifying" then goes back to the sign in screen?
My other son's iPod 4G works just fine.
Any ideas?

Looking at the details for this mic, it appears that the app has to have the option to use the internal specak when a mic is plugged into the headphone jack. Specifically:
NOTE: When MityMic is plugged into your iPod/iPhone you won’t be able to use the onboard speaker for sound output. You must remove the MityMic then play back your recordings. (The Skype app has an option to enable the onboard speaker even when the mic is plugged in, so you could use MityMic for placing Skype calls. However most other apps do not have this function.)

Yes. You can set the payment method to "None" once you log into iTunes on your PC/Mac. I have it set up this way.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
