Ipod touch 2g trouble while charging

i had my ipod for +- 3 years, but 2 months ago charging it became a problem. when i connect it to pc it doesnt start charging, when it finnaly starts charging the most small movement makes it stop, it keeps shifting from charging (ray on battery)  to connected (wire on battery) all the time, and battery lasts for +- 2 hours at little bright. i think the battery might be dying but i want to be sure before changing it. im using a new original wire i bought a few weeks ago, but it didnt solve the problem. please help.

Reset the iPod. Maybe that'll help.
U should consider taking it to an Apple Store.

  • Ipod touch 5 lagging while charging

I've had my ipod touch 5 since November 22nd, 2014. Every time I charge it, it lags whether that is while I am using an app or just trying to enter my passcode. I've tried not having apps run in the background but it still lags. If I use an app, it sometimes freezes to where I can't scroll or exit out of what I'm doing unless I unplug it. It doesn't respond to my touch, say I'm trying to scroll up or down it won't always work or it'll scroll too little or too much or go a different direction. And I do have the most updated software so I'm wondering if it's the software that is the problem.
I am wondering if there is a way for me to fix this? Or do I need to bring it into an apple store to be looked at or exchanged?

Other users have reported the same problem but I have not seen a solution.
I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Ipod touch - gets warm while charging

When i charged my ipod touch today i almost had to wear gloves to take it of charging. it took a long time to cool it down. anyone know what might be the problem?

It's perfectly normal. I tend not to notice it because I have a silicone rubber sleeve on my touch but I do notice it when using 3D games like Asphalt 5 - practically fry an egg on the ol' girl

  • IPod Touch backlight off while charging/docked

For about the last year the backlight on iPod touch has turned off whenever plugged in to charge, computer, dock etc. This makes it extremely hard to see what is on the screen and therefore difficult to use. I remember this not always being the case but it started happening about a year ago, probably coinciding with a firmware upgrade around 3.0?
Is this a known problem and are there any fixes out there short of trying a format/restore? Any help would be greatly appreciated

sorry for bumping this again but really looking for an answer to this.
I recently upgraded to 4.2.1 and even with the full firmware upgrade it still happens. It seems to happen as soon as the dock connector is even half plugged in, even before the ipod recognizes what it's been plugged in to and starts charging etc.
This problem makes use in my car extremely difficult as I pretty much have to disconnect then reconnect in order to change anything on the ipod.

  • My daughter's ipod touch got hot while charging and will no longer turn on.

My daugther's ipod touch got hot and will no longer turn on.  Is there a solution to this problem or is the ipod fried?

I'm not sure if it's fried or not, but try rebooting the device by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously for about 15 seconds or so. Hopefully you will see the Apple logo.

I updated my ipod touch, then a while later it said waiting for update then shut off. then started turning on and off, what do i do ?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod touch 5th generation wont charge or turn on at all, at first i though the lightning cable was the problem so i bought 2 more lightning chargers and the only thing my ipod does it gets really hot but wont turn on :( help!!

My ipod touch 5th generation wont charge or turn on at all,
i upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 and after that my ipod started having trouble charging, at first i though the lightning cable was the problem so i bought 2 more lightning cable chargers and my ipod still would'nt charge, so it died. now the only thing my ipod does is when i try to turn it on it shows the apple logo and then the screen goes off and does it again for a few times and then the screen stays off and my ipod gets really hot but wont turn on for the rest of the day help!!

The hotness indicate a hardware problem.

If not abused Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one at no coast. otherwise the exchange price is $149.

  • My iPod Touch will no longer charge from a wall socket, only my computer. HELP!

My 4th generation iPod Touch will no longer charge from a wall socket, only my computer. I tried buying a new cable and USB charging socket (and I bought one made by Apple), but that did not fix the problem. I restored it from iTunes, hoping that would work as well, but that failed. I am at my wit's end. Can anybody here help me? I've bought new equipment, tried rebooting, restoring, etc. but nothing so far has proven successful. If anyone's got a solution, please help!
    Thanks!

All I can suggest is the standared fixes. It seems very strange
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Bring the cable and Apple wall charger too.

    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

My daughter wants to purchase an ipod touch.  Are there charges or fees for texting another ipod with a system other than the ios5 (i.e. ios4,etc.)?

Also, there is no battery percentage. The battery drains quicker than in iOS 6. The high power consumption may be fixed in the next update.
