IPod Touch 2gen iOS 4 Can't change home screen wallpaper

I just updated my iPod Touch 2 generation to iOS 4 and I was excited about changing the home screen wallpaper, but when i went to change it, that option wasn't there. Is there some reason this feature is not available on the iPod Touch (or mine at least)? I am confused and disappointed..

You never could change the background... At least, I never could!
You can change the picture for the "home" screen, unless I'm mistaken. This is the screen you see when you click on the iPod waking it from stand-by. You'll see the "slide to unlock" slider, and your image in the background, but that's it!
Now, here's the "thing"... Granted, I've not been using it for a couple of months, so correct me if I'm wrong. Behind all the icons, the background had the typical "space" image. Dark, with red gassy clusters and stars... The same default image from OS X. Or, maybe I'm going crazy, and it's always been solid black.
After I ran the update, I did the same thing as everyone else... Tried to set my background, only to find it isn't supported on the 2g. I was surprised to find it solid black though. Were did my star picture go?
So, please let me know if I'm imagining the old starry background was there, or if the update has sucked it away to blackness.
(Otherwise, folders are good... That is all.)

My iPod touch 4th gen is frozen on my home screen

My iPod is stuck on my home screen, and when i swipe or touch any apps nothing happens its totally frozen. My assistive touch is on, and when i touch that it opens it, but nothing on that works, like ill press the lock button and it wont lock, and ill hold it and it wont let me shut off my ipod because that option wont show up. Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke. If it hasn't been, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

I just updated my 8GB iPhone to the new iPhone 4 software. How do I change the homescreen wall paper?

If you have an iPhone 3G, that's all you get, I'm not sure about the iPhone 3GS, but I suspect it gets the home screen wallpaper.

Is there a thing on the ipod touch 4th generation to get to the home screen? my home button is broken and i can't afford to get it fix right now.

everytime i need to get to the home page the button is so stuck down it doesnt go. Any thing in settings to get home easier?

Can't change home screen background

I have downloaded and installed iOS 4 software and have an iPhone 3G. When I try to select a picture to save as wallpaper it doesn't give the option to set it as my home screen background. Is this feature not available for iPhone 3G? If it is available how do you get it to work?

I have the same iPhone 3G (the original iPhone) with the new 4.0 Software.
You should be able to save your own picture as iPhone Wallpaper.
Go to your iPhone Photos, iPhone Pictures. Tap the picture you wanted. On the bottom left of your iPhone screen, tap the boxed arrow icon. tap "Use as Wallpaper".
2nd way to set iPhone wallpaper: First make sure the Picture is in your Photos on your iPhone. Then go to your Settings app, Wallpaper, iPhone pictures. Then you should see all your pictures that are saved on your iPhone 3G. Tap on the picture you want as your Wallpaper. Tap Set.

I had two game centers. One on my iPod touch and one on my iPhone. They both were under the same email but my iPhone one had more achievements. When I downloaded iOS5, the account was changed to the iPod touch account. How can I change it back?

You may be able to get the las compatible version by:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

The 4th generation can not be upgraded beyond 6.1.3. It lacks the required hardware (RAM) for the new version of iOS.

I have been searching iTunes to see if there are any apps that I can use to change the home screen on my 3G, is this actually possible? I have search apple.ca, but there is so much information out there, I virtually get lost.

I got a cool pic on my ipod touch 4 and i can't put it on game center because theres no change picture buttonand i cant see anyone else's picture. I believe its to do with me having ios 4.
