Ipod Touch 2nd Gen not syncing photos

One of my ipod touch's albums to sync is iPhoto's "last import" album. It always updates the album every time I import new photos into iPhoto. However, it has stopped doing that. I have old photos in my album now instead of the most recent import. In "Last Import" on my iPod, it's showing me my import from two times ago, not the most recent. I've clicked SYNC in iTunes about 5 times, but it won't update. My music and podcasts are all updated, just not my photos.

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.

  • Why is my wifi on my ipod touch 2nd gen not working?

Can someone help with the wifi on my ipod touch 2nd Gen? Yesterday it suddenly stopped connecting to anything wifi. No settings were changed. The only thing I did was go to itunes for the first time in well, forever. I always use it on my computer to go in itunes, not my ipod. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I could still get on Safari after that but I don't really remember. At some point in the evening it stopped connecting. I can't get on Safari, my mail won't refresh, it would connect to the app store, nothing. Sometimes a message does pop up saying there was a problem connecting to the server. I can't figure this out, internet on my computer is running perfectly fine. My ipod wifi is on, airplane mode off. When I go into my settings it shows my network and that it's connected. I haven't connected it or synced it to the new itunes. I actually haven't downloaded the update yet. Ipod is up to date though without the new sync. Can anyone help me out? I'm very confused.
    Thanks

  • Windows 7 64 bit, iPod touch 2nd gen, iTunes sync issue

I have Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium and am frustrated to death. I have spent days wiping out my iPod trying something different an only to start all over again. I am not a n00b to computers and only ask because I only find a trail of tears and none of the problems I see look specifically like mine.
I have been following this issue since Feb 2010 and notice reports that are sort of similar back to Jan of 2009. Anyway here is my problem.
iTunes will recognize my iPod touch 2nd Gen. iTunes will "sync" apps and data. iTunes will not sync movies, music, books, or software upgrades.
I get an error code that changes depending on what I am trying and seems to lead to no where. I can't honestly remember the code anymore.
I can sync with this same computer using Windows XP 32 Pro win a VirtualBox VM, but can not do it directly from within Windows 7. So hardware and drivers are not the issue. I reinstalled iTunes with a Vista 64 bit install that I found online which appeared to work temporarily then ultimately I ended up back where I started.
I actually switched to Windows (from linux) because I got tired of the VirtualBox method. Quite ironic that I am still facing the same issue.
On top of the not being able to sync properly from Windows 7 64 bit. Everytime I try I have to put in hours of work to get my Ipod back to working order as iTunes only allows you to sync with one computer and is slower that snail poop in January. In order to try again I have to be willing to commit to the problems that I am most likely to encounter.
    So my questions are
    1. Does anyone have a clue why Apple has not fixed this issue? or is there a solution I don't know about?
    2. Is there an easier way to attempt a fix that does not require me to re organize my 70+ apps on my iPod?
P.S. I do not have an intel based chipset as that seems to have been an issue for others. I have
    ASUS M2V VIA K8T890 AM2 Mother Board
    CPU AMD|A64 X2 4600+
    VGA EVGA GF 7300GT
Have tried direct to MB USB and through powered Hub

Are you sure that you downloaded the 64 bit version and not the 32 bit version?  I would delete the download and try again.  You also might want to look at the iTunes forum since youu have an iTunes problem and not an iPod problem.

  • IPod Touch (2nd gen) not recognized by computer and iTunes

When I connect my iPod Touch to my laptop, running Windows 7, neither the computer nor iTunes recognizes my iPod. Everything worked before with Vista.
When I plug the iPod into the computer the iPod does turn on put the battery doesn't charge and the iPod does not show on the Device Manager.
I have gone through and uninstalled and the reinstalled iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application support. With no positive result. In fact I have done it twice.
In going back to make sure everything had installed I have noticed several things.
The Apple Software Update, Bonjour, iTunes folders and Common Files are located in Program Files(x86) There are also copies of the Bonjour, iPod, Common Files, and iTunes folders are also located in the Program Files folder. Are these file locations correct?
Also, I have read somewhere that there should be usbaapl.cab, usbaapl.inf, usbaapl.sys files. I can't find any of these file. Are these files necessary?
    Any help will be appreciated.

greetings rkonrv and welcome to Apple discussions !
it seems your have seen this KG then.
maybe this tip by Beebopp (though a little off topic) will provide some pointers:
+This solution is very similar to one above but worked for me. Am using iPod Touch 2nd Gen with 32 bit version of Windows Vista where the iTouch is being seen by Windows but does not show in iTunes. In my case it was being identified by Windows as a camera. I tried un-installing and re-installing iTunes and all the other Apple apps with no luck. Was almost ready to throw in the towel when I did one last search for alternate solutions and found the following instructions to reinstall the drivers, but instead of having the system look to the c:\Windows\inf or c:\windows\system 32 folders for the drivers, the path is changed to C:\program files\common files\Apple\Apple Mobile Support\Drivers, which is apparently where Vista installs the drivers. Once I changed the path the driver properly reflected the iTouch as a USB device, and not a digital camera. Try this if you are having similiar issues.+
    +Here are the steps:+
    +1. Verify you have the following files usbaapl.cat, usbaapl.inf & usbaapl.sys in the following directory "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers"+
+2. Log in using an ADMINISTRATIVE account+
+3. Single left click on START+
+4. Single left click on RUN (You may need to change the start menu to 'classic view' to see RUN, you can change back after if you like)+
    +5. Type in " devmgmt.msc " then hit Enter (Don't type in the quotes)+
+6. Look for Imaging in the Device Manager window, and click on plus sign (In Vista you may not see the "Imaging" option. Look under "Portable Devices" as an alternative)+
+7. Now you should see " Apple iPod " as a device underneath Imaging (or Portable Devices)+
+8. Right click on " Apple iPod " then single left click on Properties+
+9. Single left click on the " Driver " tab+
+10. Single left click on " Update driver "+
+11. Select " Install from a list or specific location " or "Browse my computer" whichever shows on your version of Vista+
+12. Single left click on " Include this location in the search " if shown+
+13. Paste " C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers " (Don't type in the quotes) into the box " Include this location in the search "+
+14. Single left click NEXT and keep clicking through until " Apple iPod USB Driver " is detected, if no list appears then you should see the little animated circle thingie spinning. It's looking and working. Be patient.+
+15. Hopefully you will get a successful message.+
    +16. The correct drivers(s) are now installed.+
+17. Start up iTunes, and see if you iPod is detected again.+
    good luck !

  • Why does my Ipod touch 5th gen not sync podcasts with my Windows Itunes? Both are up to date with versions.

I didn't see this asked so sorry if this is a duplicate question.
In Itunes (it is the most recent version for windows available as of 2/12/2014) all my podcasts are showing they have downlaoded to my PC. They don't have the little cloud next to them. I sync my Ipod touch 5th gen. The sync shows everything was synced. I look at the "Whats on this ipod" tab and they are listed. But when I disconnect the ipod via the "eject" icon on the Ipod button in itunes and look at the podcasts they still show as not downloaded (greyed out and if wifi is turned on the little cloud is next to them ).
So whats going on? I had this issue with my ipod touch 4th gen as well and though it was because the podcast app stopped upgrading but the itunes on windwos did. But the syncing of the podcasts are even worse with the 5th gen then they were with the 4th gen.
I typically don't have wifi turned on since I want to sync the ipod via itunes. So I have a central place to keep the old podcasts without having to take space on the ipod itself. I saw some references to the downloading of podacasts are done only via wifi, but that just didn't make sense. Why be able to sync Itunes if they are just going to turn around and make you do the same on the device?
    Any ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks for the help in advance.

  • Ipod touch 3rd gen not syncing movies

Today after about 4 years with the same movies on my Ipod touch third gen i decided to change what i had on my device. so i started up itunes for the first time in a few years pluged my device in and it connects no problem. i move all the movies i have into my itunes library. note all the movies are in a .mp4 format. they move into my library no problem. back up my device no problem. i check off in my library all the movies i want to sync along with in my sync settings to sync all videos. when i go to sync i get the warning that all current videos will be erased and replaced with the new movies. i agree and away the sync goes. the sync says it has 4 steps it runs the first 3 steps that are back up and prepare to sync steps but when it reaches step 4 i see it says waiting for changes to be applied but that lasts for half a second then the sync ends. i know it doesnt take half a second to load almost 10 GB. and on i pod touch third gen the movies didnt sync along with all my old movies are gone. i try again and again but no luck.
    Any ideas?

  • HT1386 iPod Touch 5th Gen not sync music on iTunes

    Hi,
Have just bought an iPod Touch 5th Gen.
When I sync with iTunes I get my podcasts without any problem but I do not get any of my music. It claims "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including ..., were not copied to the iPod Touch because they could not be found"
I am using iTunes 10.7.0.21 and ipod touch is version 6.0.1.
    Thanks
    Mike

Go onto iTunes on your computer and go to your music and right click them and delete them.
When your done, go to iTunes store --> purchased (it's on the side on the right) -> music and click on the cloud.
    OR
On your iPod, do iTunes app -> More -> Purchased -> Music -> look for your artist and tap the cloud.

  • Ipod touch 2nd gen not connecting to mail now-any anwers?

My iPod Touch 2nd Generation can no longer connect to my email (formerly MobileMe account). I am running iOS 4.2.1
Why can I not suddenly connect to my email? It asks me to create account with MobileMe, which I already have. Every time
I try to put in my Apple ID and password (long in use, NOT new), it says it already exists (no fooling?). It becomes a big endless
loop and no matter how many times I repeat the activity, same answer. I even restarted the iPod, to no avail. Any answers?
    thank you for your help.

MobileMe has been discontinued and replaced by iClould. Did you transition to iCloud? However, the 2G iPod is no supported by iCloud.

  • IPod shuffle 2nd gen not syncing

I have a 2nd gen iPod shuffle that won't sync consistently with my PC (windows 7)
Recently uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and successfully synced.  Overnight something happened and now my device is not recognized.  When I plug it in, a yellow light comes on briefly but nothing else.  Have tried restarting and different USB ports as well with no success. I followed the instructions online for troubleshooting, which is how I got it to work yesterday, but it's not being recognized in iTunes, or in my storage devices.  I'm getting tired of the same songs so I need some help!

It may still be related to an issue with USB port not supplying enough power.  iPods need to operate AND charge its battery, so other low-power devices may work fine, while the iPod does not.
Is the symptom the same as before...?  The shuffle's light comes on initially, but then goes off.
If you happen to have a self-powered USB 2.0 hub, try connecting the hub to the computer's port, and the iPod to the hub.  A "self-powered hub" is one that has its own power supply that plugs into a wall outlet.  If the problem is lack of power on the port, it may work this way because the hub is supplying the power.

  • IPod Touch 2nd gen not turning on or charging

I've had my 2nd gen iPod Touch for a good couple of years now, but recently it has just stopped working completely.
I can't turn it on, and when after 2 minutes of charging (on both the USB cable and my DAB radio docking station) it gets extremely hot at the bottom. It is also not appearing anywhere/being recognized if I plug it into my computer, so I can't restore it in any way. It hasn't been dropped in any way, but stopped working after losing battery power and turning off.
I expect it's somewhat of a lost cause due to it being an older gen model, but I would be grateful if there were any solutions available before I take it to my local Apple store next week.
I wouldn't think it was to do with the age though, since I also have a 3rd gen iPod Nano which after a good 6 years or so works perfectly. But, my ask for help still stands, thanks in advance.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem, like a bad battery, and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Touch (2nd Gen) not charging properly and apps won't update

Hi, I'm not really sure if or how these problems can be linked, but I thought I'd put them together just in case...
My first problem is that my apps aren't updating properly.  When I try to apply the updates, I get the "waiting" come up but then it just resets having done nothing, sometimes needing me to switch my iPod right off and on again before I can use the app again.  I tried connecting my iPod up to my computer to apply the updates through iTunes and it seemed to work, but none of them actually updated.
Having connected to iTunes and tried to sync everything, I also got an error message saying that the apps couldn't be synched due to not being able to determine what apps were on my iPod.  However, they were all sitting there looking like they had synched.
The second part of the problem is that my iPod doesn't seem to be charging properly anymore.  The battery doesn't seem to be lasting as long as it should and I've noticed that sometimes when I'm charging it, I get the symbol come up that means it's running from the mains, when it should actually still be the symbol to show it's currenty charging, so I'm wondering if the problem is that it's not charging properly some of the time rather than the charge isn't lasting long enough.
If anyone's got any ideas how to resolve any of this I'd really appreciate it
    Thank you

  • IPod Touch (1st Gen) not syncing with iTunes 11.0.4

I own an iPod touch 1st generation and for some reason it won't sync music properly with the latest version of iTunes. This problem has been going on for about 6 months. I have found some way around it but it involves wiping the iPod entirely and then syncing it with my iTunes. This, however, is a very long process and I want to know if there is a solution. I do understand that this is a very old iPod (c. 2005) but I've had it from new and other than this problem it works perfectly fine and has a decent battery life. I don't really care much for apps I just want to be able to listen to my music on the train without having to fork out for a new iPod or iPhone.

    I would try:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
