IPod Touch 2nd Gen stuck on apple logo is it broken?

I already tried putting in DFU mode and it restored just fine but once it finished restoring it just went back to flashing again on the apple screen does anyone have any advice? -

I do not think so.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Hello, My iPod Touch 5th Gen Stuck in Apple Logo.
I Was Trying To Change "slide to unlock" text on Lock screen.
I Did It With FileZilla, I go to  /System/Coreservices/springboard.app/Springboard.strings
then i search for "slide to unlock" and i change it to "slide to eat pie"
then i reboot ipod and BOOM...
    Stuck In Apple logo...

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod touch 2nd gen stuck on apple reboot screen

Hopefully someone can help... For the past 2 days, my touch has been stuck on the black screen with a white apple on it (the reboot screen). Approximately every 15 mins or so, the screen flashes to white as if it is trying to open something, flashes to black, and then the apple screen re-appears. Prior to this problem, I had downloaded some ebooks from the Barnes & Noble EReader App. I have tried holding down the wake/sleep key at the same time as the menu key. This will turn it off, but when I turn it back on, same problem. I have connected it to my computer via USB and it hasn't made a difference. I have tried connecting it to the computer, holding down the wake/sleep key at the same time as the menu key until I get a black screen and then continuing to hold both until the reboot screen appears again. I have tried this several times and nothing has changed on my ipod. When my touch is connected to the computer, occasionally my itunes will recognize it and synch, but then it disconnects itself. I can get it to be recognized as an ipod on my itunes if I hold both the sleep/wake and home buttons until the screen goes black and the apple re-appears where I release the sleep/wake button but continue to hold the menu button in order to get the restore settings, but only gives me the option to restore it to factory settings, which I don't want to do since I will lose everything on my touch. I have read that putting it into SSH would have been helpful, but I can't get into my settings to change it. Is there anything I can possibly do to save my current contents without having to totally reset it?

This exact same thing happened to me today and I cannot reset either. Don't want to restore to factory as I keep my mileage on my device and will lost it and not get paid. HElp.

  • Ipod Touch 2nd Generation stuck on Apple Logo loading up screen.

I have looked at many posts and nobody has found a solution which suits me.
My IPod gets stuck on the Apple Logo Loading screen when I turn the IPod on. Many say to reset the IPod, and so I do, and before long it dies, meaning it is unable to complete the reset.
When I plug it into the computer it dies not long after it stays on the logo screen, but when it is plugged into the wall it will just stay on the apple logo screen for ages. So could it be the IPod itself that isn't working?
ITunes cannot detect the IPod because the PC cannot detect it, and the reason the PC cannot detect it, is that the IPod has to be loaded and ready.
So I am running out of ideas, the nearest Apple Store is miles away.
I had it as a Christmas present this year, so its not that old.
The Apple Mobile Device service is fully working.
Any advice would be grateful, thanks!

  • Ipod touch 2nd generation goes from apple logo to low battery symbol when trying to turn it on.  Won't show up in itunes either.  Is it a dead battery? Help please.

Hi, I have a 2nd Geration iPod touch.  The ipod will NOT go past the apple logo when turning on.  After about three minutes of waiting the screen will go blank.  So, I push the sleep/wake button and the low battery symbol appears, indicating that the ipod is being charged.  After about three minutes the ipod goes to sleep.  Wake up and the red battery shows up again but this time the apple logo appears after about three minutes and stays on for 5 minutes before going to sleep again.  When you wake it up it is on the red battery again. and the process repeats. The battery symbol never increases from the low mark.(no matter how long I charge it.)  It also gets a little bit hot after a while.  The ipod will NOT show up in iTunes either.  Please help thank you.

    Try here:

If not successfl then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. Maybe a battery.

  • How do i fix my ipod touch 4th gen when the apple logo appears and then a whit screen comes up and turns off and it wont charge and it wont connect to itunes

My ipod touch 4th gen is a having a few problems with charging and turning on, my ipod comes up with the  extremely low on power symbol and then i put it into my computer and it comes up with the charging symbol then it goes to the apple logo and then onto a blank white screen and then turns off and repeats that process i have tried various things including resetting my ipod trying to connect it to itunes but it doesnt come up with anything so i cant reset it on itunes and have tried various charging devices.

Tried it but it won't do anything all it does is make the screen do a very small flash of white and then continues doing the same thing appearing with apple logo then the white screen and off and keeps repeating that
I'm guessing the white small flash means it's been reset when I hold the 2 buttons down,
    Thanks for suggesting.

  • IPod Nano 4th Gen - Stuck on Apple logo

After not using my iPod Nano (4th Gen. 4GB) for about 4 months, I try to turn it on to find it isn't responding. I figured it was completely dead, so I plug it into my computer to see an Apple logo appear on the screen, and I leave it to charge for about an hour. After charging, my computer still didn't register any usb device. When I disconnected it was stuck on the apple logo. After waiting for a while it was still on Apple logo.
So, I did some reading and put it into disk mode. Once in disk mode it was recognized by my computer, and I promptly restored it. After it was restored I reset the iPod. But, again it was still stuck at the Apple logo screen.
I have repeated this process three times, and each time I reset it after restoring in disk mode, the iPod is stuck at the Apple logo screen.
Any ideas as to why it is doing this?

his is not operating system-specific, but I want to get it on the record somewhere since I could not find the solution anywhere else.
Last week, my third-generation 30GB iPod refused to go beyond the Apple logo on startup. It would power up, flash as if trying to go to the menu, but instead it would just show the Apple again. I tried all the usual recovery methods: resetting (hundreds of times and a couple of different ways), disk scans from the diagnostic menu, restoring with the latest iPod software and with an older version, fsck, using Disk Utility to repair and erase, Disk Warrior, letting the battery drain, everything.
Nothing worked ... until I used Disk Utility to reformat the disk with the "Zero Out Data" option (in the Security pop-up) enabled. This, apparently, reformatted the drive in such a way as to account for bad sectors. It took about an hour.
After that, I restored it with the latest iPod software, and to my delight, it booted normally. It now works fine.
Found that on web mite help you.... but i dont have a mac

  • Ipod nano 7th gen stuck on apple logo screen

New iPod nano 7th gen.  At first attempt to upload songs, was prompted to update software.  So, software was updated and as I was installing software update to the iPod, I got a message stating that the iPod was in the process of a restore (I think this is what it said.  I didn't pay a whole lot of attention as i was not expecting any problems).  I continued with the restore because nothing had been uploaded to the iPod yet so nothing would be lost.  At this point, the device has been stuck on the apple logo screen for a couple of hours now.  The only response I can get from it is when I do a reset.  The screen will black as it should and then go right back to the logo and stay.  Please help.....Son not happy as this was one of his Christmas presents this morning.  Really not looking forward to a trip to the apple store on the day after Christmas.

I am afraid yo need to visit the store and possibly ask for a replacement. In some cases, doing the reset will correct any issues, but by the way you describe it, it freezes with apple logo. Better to get a replacement.

  • Ipod nano 4th gen stuck on apple logo even after restore

okay, i have an ipod nano 4th gen. it gets stuck on the boot logo, (apple logo) every time it tries to restart. i have rebooted, gone into the diagnostics, put it into disk mode, and even restored from there. the computer doesnt recognize the ipod unless in disk mode and no matter how many times i restore or reboot, it does the same thing every time. stuck. please help

Since you have the "exact" same problem, why don't you do any of the following:
If you have AppleCare and/or still under warranty, give them a call.  If not, take your iPod to your local Apple Store or AASP.  Let them properly diagnose the problem and provide you w/a repair estimate.
U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273)
Every iPod comes with complimentary, single-incident telephone technical support within 90 days of your iPod purchase.   If you also purchased AppleCare, then your warranty is extended for technical support and hardware coverage for two years from the original purchase date of your iPod.

  • Ipod touch 2nd gen stuck on low battery screen and won't turn on, Ipod touch 2nd gen stuck on low battery screen and won't turn on

My ipod touch was working fine until yesterday it just shut off with about half of charge left. I tried holding the power and home button but nothing. When I plug it into the charging wall outlet the low battery screen pops up and same goes for when I plug it into iTunes on my computer. I let it alone overnight to see if the battery would drain but same thing happened today. What should I do?

I have never seen this answer before but here's what worked for me and I found it accidentally.
I have an iPhone and an iPad and I only had 1 charger (my only Apple cord didn't work anymore so I had thrown it out and I thought maybe that was the problem, except my iphone charged fine with my pink cord) by my bedside, so I would just hook up the one that needed it the most before I went to bed.  Well one day I woke up to find that my iPad had a low battery, with the red battery picture. When I plugged it into the charger, it just kept recycling to the Apple logo and then the spinning wheel of death, and back again.
I did some research and couldn't figure it out. People who thought it was a dead battery still had the same problem after they sent it in and got a new battery  My iPad is not jail broken and half the "solutions" were over my head. I have over 1300 apps on my iPad, not to mention thousands of pictures, that I was just feeling so bereft and sad that I might have lost everything.  So I just let my iPad sit, and drained the whole battery down to the nubbin.  It was 2-3 days without a charger that I just let it sit.
Then I put it on the charger again and I noticed I still got the red battery symbol, but the red was a thinner slice. I went to work and left it on the charger all day. When I returned, one of my FB notifications came on and bam, there it was, my sign on screen or whatever it's called, where you slide the thingy across. And it was back!!!!!!
So I was overjoyed.  I'd also had a problem syncing with a warning that it overloaded my USB port. It was a separate problem, but I was able to sync it after that, and my iPhone too, so I was ecstatic.
Then the battery thing happened again about a week later.  I thought I had been diligent about keeping it charged but it went down after only a day off the charger.  Realized that I had FB and mail notifications notifying me in the startup screen, so that it was constantly turning itself on and off.  I have almost 5000 FB friends and 10 email accounts, so that was a lot of steady activity that I wasn't really aware of.  I have now turned off all notifications to every app, since they also come on my phone AND I bought a 2nd cord, a purple one, so now I'm set and don't expect to ever have that problem again.
Hope this helps everyone who thought they had a brick.

  • IPod touch 4g is stuck on apple logo

I tried turning it on like i always do every afternoon after it being off all night and morning but then it became stuck on the apple logo and has been for about 30 minutes now. I know to fix this you have to hold down both the power and home button at the same time so it can restore but the problem is my home button is broken and does not work anymore. Is there another way to fix this? Like if i just leave it alone for however long it will eventually start working again? Or am I just screwed with no other way and being out of an ipod now?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and

    For MAC or PC

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
