Ipod touch 2nd gen. will turn on but wont charge @ all

my problem is with my 2nd generation ipod touch, it wont charge and is now dead. when it is off and i plug it in it says its dead and is charging, then turns itself on, when it turns on doesnt charge, and within a minute or so it goes dead again. i dont know what to do. please help me!

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem then time for an appointment at te Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.

It used to be able to stream apps that supports Online Video Streaming , tried Restore a couple of times and it didn't help .
What could the issue be ?

The ESPN Radio is basically a Paid radio station.Make sure you have enuff balance to stream a radio from your Iphone. .
Check if you required to open any ports on your router for ESPN Radio.

Your problem will be that AppleTV only has HDMI and optical output - no analogue out so unless say you had a B&W Zeppelin or similar that has optical in you'd need something esle to decode the audio to ananlogue.
Some have also reported AppleTV not working for audio when TV is off or in standby.
You may be better off having both!

IPod touch 2nd gen will not open in iTunes. Ideas?

I upgrading the latest version of iTunes and I went to sync my iPod touch 2nd gen to get my latest podcasts and it would not sync or even recognize in iTunes. My PC recognizes the drive. But iTunes is a no go. I suspected it was just the latest version of iTunes so I downgraded back to the previous version and got the same results. I've switched USB ports, cables and have restarted numerous times. I even uninstalled the device from the device manager but nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I have the Ipod Touch 2nd Gen and for some reson it wont turn on...at all ive tried using my wall charger...didnt work...then i pluged it in to the computer to start itunes and it STILL didnt work! However, from your discription, I suspect that something is broken. Maybe a dead battery. In that case. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and see what they say.

hey guys, so i have a Ipod touch 32gb 2nd gen. It suddenly just stopped working it turned off so I thought I just needed to charge it. But after leaving it to charge for a few hours i tried turning it on but nothing happened. When I connect it to my computer and hold the lock and home button itunes prompts me to restore it but when I try to restore all i get is a white screen on the ipod and a error 21 on itunes. I have tried many methods to remove that error 21 but nothing has worked. So now I have a non responsive ipod that will not turn on or restore help please!!!

IPod Touch 2nd gen not turning on or charging

I've had my 2nd gen iPod Touch for a good couple of years now, but recently it has just stopped working completely.
I can't turn it on, and when after 2 minutes of charging (on both the USB cable and my DAB radio docking station) it gets extremely hot at the bottom. It is also not appearing anywhere/being recognized if I plug it into my computer, so I can't restore it in any way. It hasn't been dropped in any way, but stopped working after losing battery power and turning off.
I expect it's somewhat of a lost cause due to it being an older gen model, but I would be grateful if there were any solutions available before I take it to my local Apple store next week.
I wouldn't think it was to do with the age though, since I also have a 3rd gen iPod Nano which after a good 6 years or so works perfectly. But, my ask for help still stands, thanks in advance.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem, like a bad battery, and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod touch 2nd gen will not connect to my wifi giving me incorrect password

Friday when i went to school when i came back and i turned wifi on it asked for my password and it told me incorrect password even though i am 100% sure it is correct. I went to my dads house over the weekend and used wifi there, and when i came back it would keep telling me that i had the incorrect password. My brother also has a 2nd gen itouch with ios 4.1 and same as me and his will connect just fine. I have tried several things and none seem to work. I have not tried updating my ipod or restoring it for several reasons. Does anyone have a fix?

Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My iPod Touch 2nd Gen will not update.

iTunes tells me that it is up to date using iOS 4.2.1, but I want to update to iOS 5. How do I update my iPod Touch? Is my iPod no longer compatible with Apple? Every time I check for updates, iTunes tells me that my iPod has no further updates. I have made sure that my MacBook is up to date with all of the latest Apple software. Does anyone know the problem?

That's annoying...So, apple makes new devices and operating systems for them and if your device is no longer compatible, you have to spend another 200 dollars on something that will become obsolete in a year...I have a computer that has been keeping up with current technology for 8 years. It's still compatible with all of it's software and all of the upates. If Apple can't make universal updates, I consider that a failing.

My iPod touch (2nd Gen) will not play my music!!

I have restored my iPod touch to factory settings and made iTunes sync my music all over again... and it still won't play my music.
The music does appear in the music app, however, as soon as I try to play a song, it just pauses it and then it goes back to the playlist.
Unfortunately my iPod will not upgrade past iOS 4.2.7... it's a very old iPod, but I don't need a new one!! Please help me how do I solve this?

Help me please! I had my Ipod touch playing overnight by accident. When I woke up, it was still playing and the battery was really low. I turned off the music and left it to charge. Now it won't turn on. No apple logo or anything. It's quite depressing. Help me!!!!
