IPod Touch (2nd Generation) Problems

Lately my iPod Touch has been having problems. I open an app and it closes it automatically. Once it closes I have to open it again and it works. Another problem I'm facing is this... When I go to my music section and look at the albums it has two of the same album. One has a few songs and the other has the other songs. Please help me fix this issue...

Try the following:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
For the music problem try unsyncing all the music and resyncing them.

Hi all
So I have a problem - my iPod touch got some soda on the screen after being in the car. I didn't discover it until the next morning, so I carefully wiped the soda off with a damp towel to get all the stickiness off. It seemed okay, but then the touch screen started not working. It would work occasionally, but it then stopped working completely. The iPod stayed alive for a day, but then went dark and now it won't turn on at all, even when connected to the computer. I didn't think any soda actually got into the iPod, as far as I could tell it didn't. The only visible sign of any damage is that the home button is a little sticky. Is there anything I can do to try and save it? Or is it shot?

There is a problem with the left headphone or stereo headphone jack connection in the ipod touch 2nd generation

I have had my ipod touch 2nd generation for 3 yrs. Now its been a year with this problem but i never seem to get it fixed because i lost my warranty and repair certificate a year ago. So the problem is whenever I put in a headphone jack for some reason only the right head phone or right speaker works not the left, but when i place the ipod on the docking port both speakers on my stereo work.
Now I have taken great care of this thing. Never lost it. I assume that a connection inside the jack port is pushed in from debrie (forgot how to spell that word) because, I always place my ipod into my pocket. The only way to get the left speaker or headphone to work is to push on the headphone jack so it tilts, then the left speaker works; but when i release it the left speaker or headphone turns off or stop making sound. So i know its not wiring problems its the connection for the headphone jack to the ipods jack's connection for the left speaker. Though microphones work.
My question is can this be a DIY or do i have to take it in to a local apple store. Problem i lost the warranty and protection repair form or license 2 years ago. I have had no problems with my ipod at all these years until this problem has consisted to happen since last year.

Problems syncing iPod Touch (2nd generation) with iMac under Mountain Lion

When syncing my iPod Touch (2nd generation) with my iMac (under Mountain Lion) the entries in my diaries/agendas do not sync. Apps and music sync without a problem. What must I do?

I have this problem.. and after spending time at the Genius Bar yesterday, I discovered that my old ipod touch is obsolete..( the Ipod touch is a 32.bit system, while the newer operating system is 64... so they're simply not compatible.)
I expressed great dismay that my perfectly good ipod touch was now obsolete... then the genius suggested I export my contacts and calendars to Google..
That was easy to do, and then, on the Google community forum i learned about nuevasync.com, which lets you synch all of this back to your ipod touch via Exchange.
WOrked like a charm.
Nuevasync. com is free for an initial trial (10 days?) and then costs only 15$ per YEAR.. so I'll use this as a good work-around

iOS 4.2.1 is the highest level that still supports the iPod Touch 2nd Generation so this isn't possible.

Those applications can't be used on a second generation iPod touch. You need to get a newer device or give up.

I bought a used iPod touch 2nd generation from Gamestop. The back of the ipod says it's 8GB. But when I connect it to iTunes, it says 6.5GB. I tried restoring it and everything. Is that normal?

A few hours ago my ipod touch 2nd generation froze, and then it took about 15 minutes to unfreeze. Now it's working very slow. Why Can't I put my Ipod Touch 2nd generation into recovery mode?

I have an ipod touch 2nd generation. I set a passcode on the ipod and then i forgot it. i tried everything and nothing worked and eventually it got locked fully and says "connect to itunes" on it. This is a problem because i no longer have the computer that i last synced to. i have a new laptop now and i threw away the old one.
I know how to fix it. I just have to put it into recovery mode and then restore it.
For some reason, i can't put it into recovery mode. I tried all different methods.

i tried a couple more but i lost the links of them.
when i try to do the part of recovery mode where you have to start up the ipod. it doesn't go into recovery mode. it just starts up and pops up on itunes saying i have to unlock the ipod in order for the device to connect to Itunes!

I would appreciate your support to help me figure out if this problem is solvable.
The error comes about whilst trying to download certain apps from the app store, including CSR Racing which when i tap on install a message box pops up saying "This App Is Incompatible With This iPod touch", another time for a different app it came up with a message saying "This app requires OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics capability.
Main questions:
What was achieved from the latest forces iPod touch 2g update (17/07/2012)?
solvable problem(s)?
Will i need to buy a more recent model of iPod touch if this isnt fixable?
ps. My iPod has lasted me 3 years so far so i am not suprised, still in good nick!

I can't find the App Store /Safari icons on my Ipod Touch (2nd generation) anywhere. I tried to enable/disable Restriction several time and the icons are still missing ? I even tried to reset the ipod touch and it doesn't seems to work still.
