IPod Touch 2nd Generation won't sync photos anymore

Hi all,
My iPod Touch 2nd generation is running OS 3.1.2 on iTunes 9.0.2, Mac OS 10.6.1. It recently automatically removed all the photos from my iPod Touch and won't let me sync them anymore. I go to the Photos tab on iTunes and the albums/events I want to sync are selected, but when I hit the sync button, I can read the status on the iTunes window stating it's syncing music, then contacts, then whatever, and when it comes to photos, it just flashes "syncing photos" for a millisecond and keeps on going. No error messages, nothing. At the end, no photos are on my iPod and the memory status bar on iTunes shows I have a certain GB of music, apps, other, but no photos.
I've tried to sync all everything from iPhoto just to give it a try, with no luck.
Any ideas?
I've tried to restore my iPod, it works for the first sync, but when I connect the iPod the second time, it removes all the photos again.
Thanks
Tadeu

uncheck the Photos Sync and hit Sync. Let it finish. Then go back and check it again and hit Sync. See if that works.

  • My iPod Touch 2nd Generation won't turn on anymore

I have had this iPod for about a year now, just enough for the warranty to expire, just as I was surfing the internet the spinning dial came up and it shut off. At first I thought it just died. I plugged it in and let it charge overnight, when I woke up it would turn on but all what would happen is the Apple logo would pop up then after about 30 seconds the screen would dim and another 30 seconds it would shut off. I took this to many dealer for troubleshooting including AT&T, Radio Shack, BestBuy, and  Verizon but none could help me.Not because they weren't allowed, just they couldn't get to work. I tried to plug it in to my laptop, but that didn't work either. It doesn't even show up and it won't show up in iTunes. PLEASE HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION I'M ONLY 15 AND DONT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO GET IT REPAIRED

    Start with a simple Reset:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).
If that doesn't help move on to Restore and then to Recovery.

  • IPod touch 2nd g won't sync with iTunes

My iPad 3 syncs with my MacBook 2007, Lion only, through iCloud but now my iPod touch 2nd g won't sync at all through iTunes. So does this mean it can no longer sync with my computer? The "sync iPod" under edit in iTunes 10 latest version is dimmed and won't sync.
I suspect I have to give up the iCloud and live manually.
Apple used to just work. Now I feel I'm swimming in the land of MS.

    Hi LittleBear,
Can you describe your problem further? Are you getting any error messages in iTunes? Just appearing to sync as normal?

  • Ipod touch (5th generation) won't sync all selected music in itunes.

ipod touch (5th generation) won't sync all selected music in itunes version 12.0.1.  Under the summary tab, I've selected "Sync only checked songs and videos."  In the music tab, I've selected the various albums and artists I want.  I click on "sync," and some albums sync, others do not.  Often, only some tracks of the selected albums sync.  Additionally, some albums sync that I haven't even selected.  My computer's operating system is Windows 8.1.  Please help - thank you!

Providing the songs play OK in iTunes on the computer and you do not have any Restrictions set that wold prevent syncing those songs (Settings>General>Restrictions; iTunes purchases only)
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

My iPod touch 2nd generation does not sync my contacts. I only have iCloud contacts in my address book. How can i sync that?

I do not fully understand you question.  To use iCloud on an iOS device requires iOS 5 and the 2G only goes to iOS 4.1.2 and thysyu can't access iCloud, including contacts.
Maybe you could sync the iCloud contacts with anopther program and sync that program with the 2G iPod.
The following smple states the following for Contacts:
iCloud: What if my device or computer doesn't meet iCloud system requirements?
    Contacts
If you want to check your iCloud Contacts, you can do so by visiting icloud.com from a Mac or PC (as long as it meets the browser system requirements for icloud.com).

  • My Ipod touch 2nd generation won't turn on.

My Ipod touch 2nd generation won't turn on, except when I plug it in. When it's plugged in, it works fine, but when I unplug it, the screen turns black. The secont i plug it in again, it shows the apple logo as if i shut it down. When unplugged, it is unresponsive, i've tried everything with the home button and power button, doesn't move, it's just black. I've reset the Ipod, I know it is not a software issue. Sometimes it works, but as soon as i push the sleep button it doesn't turn back on till plugged back in. The battery's bad, but it can still last up to 30 minutes. I don't think it's worth buying a new battery, may as well buy an Ipod 5. (pretty cool)

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My current laptop is about 3 years old. Got a virus and had to wipe it clean. Now my IPod touch 2nd generation won't recognize this computer as the one it was originally assigned to.  what do I need to do to safeguard my tunes on the Ipod touch.

My current laptop is about three years old and got a virus.  Had to wipe it clean.  Now my Ipod Touch-2nd generation is not recognizing it as the primary original computer and says it is registered on another computer.  What can I do to safeguard my library of songs on the Ipodtouch.  Any suggestions?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your device for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • My Ipod touch 3rd generation won't sync apps

Ipod touch 3rd gen won't sync apps. Can't find a trouble shooter for this. Maybe I am looking in the wrong spot. It has never happened before. What can I try?

Thanks for the great suggestions! I just worked out how to fix it! For some reason, I had to manually transfer the purchases from the ipod to the computer (never have had to do that before). Once I did that and re-synced, it worked fine.
BTW, answers to your questions in case it helps someone else:
    -no, I don't have restrictions
-yes, always use the same computer to sync
    -yes, always the same account
-yes, error message was "Itunes cannot sync apps to the ipod because the apps installed on the ipod could not be determined."
I managed to fix it! Thanks for the help!

  • My iPod Touch 2nd generation won't connect to the Internet

After restoring my iPod Touch 2nd gen to factory settings because that's what iTunes advised me to do after doing the iTunes update a week ago, my iPod won't connect to the internet anymore. I was able to connect to our wifi but it won't go to any website, to iTunes, etc. I'm 100% sure the problem isn't our wifi because I'm using it right now with my laptop so it's not the wireless problem. Before restoring my iPod to factory settings iti has always worked and I never had a problem connecting it. I tried restoring it again but it still didn't work. I already also reset our router but still no luck. I wish someone could help me asap!! Thank you.

    You can try:
    - reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off an then backon your router

  • My Ipod touch 2nd generation won't upgrade to version 4.2.1 from 2.2.1.!!! Please help!!!

It is definitely a 2nd generation.  I purchased it second hand and it must have been restored to factory defaults.  I plug it into Itunes and it says I have the latest version.  Where do I find 4.2.1???

What version of iTunes do you have on the computer?
Are you sure it is a 2G? Does it look like this. Not the shape of the black antenna cover. This shows a 1G. The cover on the 2G is oval.
If you have a 1G those can go as far as 3.1.3 that you get here.

  • Ipod touch 3rd generation won't sync.

3rd generation Ipod touch won't sync with itunes. I downloaded the new software, reset the ipod, went through the trouble shooter and my comp nor itunes recognizes my Ipod. Any tips?

What do yo mean by "but won't load."?
Since the 3G iPod does not have cameras, the only way to get phots on the the iPod is to:
    - Sync them to the iPod
    - Save them to the iPod like saving an email attachment. Those would be in the Saved Photos album
To get synced phtos from an iPod back to a computer you need a third-part program like PhoneView or TouchCopy.
Saved photos are imported from the iPod via iPhoto, Image Capture or similar program

  • IPod Touch (2nd generation) fails to sync correctly under Windows 7 SP1.

My 2nd generation iPod touch has started acting strange since I installed the latest service pack to Windows 7. It worked fine prior to this, but since I've updated to service pack 1, I've been unable to sync my applications properly and when I attempt to restore the iPod to the original factory settings I get the following message: "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6)". I've attempted both an update on an existing Windows 7 installation and on a "clean" installation where I install the OS, then the service pack and then the iTunes software (latest version 10.2.0.34). The second method worked to sync my iPod touch intially, but a day later after I downloaded updates to some of my purchased apps, these programs failed to sync to the iPod as they were not "signed". I've authorized and deauthorized my computer as suggested, uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and backed up my iTunes library as suggested. The problem continues and I'm more than a little frustrated by this. The sync fails and I end up with a iPod with NO content on it. Or, when the restore fails I have an iPod that's looking for a connection to iTunes. Anyone have any suggestions?
