IT WORKS WITH WINDOWS XP BUT IUT DOESNT APPEAR AT ALL IN WINDOWS 7, I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING IN THE SUPPORT FORUM I COULD THINK OF AND STILL NO LUCK. SOMEONE MSAID IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE USBAAPL.SYS SINCE WINDOWS 7 USES MTP.SYS
I'V TRIED IT ON 3 DIFFERENT LAPTOPS WITH WINDOWS 7 AND STILL NOTHING.... PLEASE HELP

Windows 7 64-bit does not have a DFU mode USB driver for i-devices. This means that if your ipod touch 3g is in DFU mode, it will not be seen by windows. If you do not know what DFU mode is, try this: While your ipod is plugged into the computer, hold down the Power and Home buttons. Do this until you see an apple appear on your itouch, then release the buttons. This should place your iTouch into normal mode. To use DFU mode on your computer, you must have a 32-bit operating system.

I got on my computer and updated my iTunes to 10.4.1 and then i plugged my iPod in and iTunes didnt reconize my iPod. Why is this happening?

HT1386 Since installing the latest itunes to windows 8 my iphone and ipod touch is not being recognized in itune

Since installing the latest itunes to windows 8 my iphone and ipod touch is not being recognized in itunes, therefore i can't change playlists or add songs etc. Is this a fault with itunes as it was fine with the older version or is there something i can do. I'm not on IOS yet but would like to backup my phone first but can't do that atm due to not being able to view my phone on itunes!

I would recommend the steps in the article below. See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

- Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem

I am afraid that the solution did not work... the ipod touch of mine seems really not functioning. It receives an electric isgnal from the computer but it doesnt sync at all... I have used mac book pro and windows 7 laptops but it gives similar feedback, which is NO FEEDBACK at all...

Make sure you are entering the events on your iPod in the iCloud calendar and not something else such as On My iPod. Check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the Calendars section) to be sure you have selected an iCloud calendar as your default.

Hi... I really need some help from you guys. My ipod touch is not responding whenever I connect it to my PC. It gives no feedback. The battery image that is shown when I charge my ipod touch doesn't show up unlike if I charge it using the wall charger. I have used different kinds of ports and I ended up with similar things. No response! . However, I can still use my ipod and play music with it. The only problem is its syncing ability is gone. I have only used it for a year now and the warranty that came with it is expired. I hope I can get a good answer from you guys. ThanKs!!!

IPod Touch will not show up in Windows XP after iTunes 10.2.1 update

After updating iTunes to 10.2.1 my 4G Touch will not show up in Windows XP to charge or to sync. I have been reading this forum and following the multiple Apple help and troubleshooting steps with no luck. I can get Windows to recognize and charge the Touch as a camera but it will not update the driver for Apple Mobile Device. I have come to the conclusion it is an Apple software problem. Does anyone know where I can get the previous Apple Mobile Device driver for Windows XP? I would like to give that a try. It's really disappointing....

Upon uninstalling and re-installing all of the Apple software nothing has changed. I can see Apple Mobile Device Support in add/remove programs but when clicking on "repair" it cannot finish and says it encountered a fatal error and no changes have been made.
The error I get trying to install the driver in Device Manager says "I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request".
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I ran into trouble today, iPod Touch and Windows 7. Not sure why it no longer mounted or showed in iTunes.
Looked in the control panel "Printers and Devices" and had yellow error
Troubleshooting didn't help from there. Didn't help to go through Apple steps. But an update to MobileMe (coincidence?) along with Programs control panel and "Repair" reinstall of Bonjour, MobileMe, and also for good measure before I did that, I went into Services and made sure to restart iPod and Bonjour, as well as make sure it would retry starting the service twice after initial failure.
Also, in iTunes I reset/cleared the Synch History in iTunes preference.
Now works. Only had it just over a week. So very new disturbing event.
