Ipod touch 3g not synching

iPod touch 3g not synching
About two weeks ago I downloaded some podcasts and connectedmy ipod touch to synch it.
I was asked to install an update for the ipod touch to4.3.2.
After downloading and updating, I started the synch. Whicheventually failed to synch any apps or music but did do films, TV progs, podcasts and photos?
I have tried numerous times now. Sometimes getting stuck inthe restore mode and have been unable to restore on my desktop pc. I managed torestore it on a laptop then try to synch it on the desktop again but keepgetting error messages.
Attempting to copy to the disc failed. An error occurredwhile reading from the disc.

I am running
Windows 7
iPod touch 3g 4.3.3 (8J2)
iTunes 10.2.2.14
I have uninstalled iTunes and all associated programs as inthe help pages, including manually removing remaining stuff and rebooting. Allas instructed.
I reinstalled iTunes. Same thing still happens.
Have been to the genius bar in store (about25 miles away)they tested the ipod, said that it appeared ok but exchanged it anyway.
BUT even with the new one, it does the same thing.
Have tried with all firewall, anti-virus etc  turned off
So it must be something wrong on my pc but what??
Anyone have any ideas?

- See the not-charging topic of:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
- Have you tried another cable?
- Another charging source? Does iTunes see the iPod when you connect to your computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.
- However, the hotness may indicate a hardware problem like a bad battery. If the above does not resolve the problem an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Ipod touch will not synch all songs in my library - on my windows 8 laptop. Doesn't matter if the songs are checked or not - only some songs will synch to the IPOD. I have multiple devices and two accounts.

My IPOD touch will not synch all songs in my library. Library is on a windows 8 laptop. Checking the songs does not matter. I have multiple devices (ipod, IPhone 4 and 5, IPad 2) and two ITunes accounts.

All songs play on the laptop windows 8. The second Ipod touch we have - all songs synch to it and play.
But the first Ipod touch we bought - only half (or so) of the songs synch. So I assume there is an issue with the newer Ipod touch. The songs not synching are songs I added to the library from CD's.

  • Ipod touch does not synch calendar or notes with my Windows Vista  PC

Ipod touch does not synch calendar or notes with my Windows Vista PC. I have calendar and notes entries in my Outlook calendar, but they do not synch with my Ipod touch. They used to work fine, but stopped around 2 weeks ago. I connect my ipod to i tunes, but the "info" area of itunes is not allowing me to tick the boxes to synch calendar, outlook, or notes.

    Hello Welcome To Apple Discussions
plug in your ipod and select the info tab and look for calender sync (something similar to that) and click the program your using for your calender.
    try that
    Thank You

  • My iPod Touch will not synch properly or restore at all.

When I connect it to my i-Tunes library, it will not synch properly.  I receive an error message saying: "ITunes was unable to load provider data from Synch Services.  Reconnect or try again later."  I do reconnect and I still eceive the same error message.  When I attempt to restore the iPod Touch, I receive an error message saying that I don't have enough access permissions.  When my son connected the iPod Touch to his i-Tunes library on his side of the computer (I have a PC with multiple accounts for me and my family), he did not receive any error messages.  Moreover, he was able to synch the iPod Touch properly and even restore it to its factory settings without any trouble.  I think that this may be a problem with my i-Tunes library, but I have tried several times to update my i-Tunes version and I still receive error messages.  For some reason, my son does not have any problems.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

From iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finished, you will be asked if you wish the contents of iTunes to be copied to the iPad.

  • IPod touch will not synch and is unresponsive

When I connected my iPod it updated the software and wiped out ll my music. When I attempted to update again it would not synch. Tried to restore to original settings; now just have an apple logo on iPod touch screen and in iTunes it says it is waiting to sych. After 2 days nothing.

    - Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again.
    - If still problem, time for an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My iPod touch is not synching all of my music in my library, even though everything is checked

I don't know how to fix it

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?

  • My iPod Touch is not automatically recognised when I connect to my laptop

I used to get an auto prompt when plugging in my iPod to my laptop with an option to download only the latest photo's. Now I do not have a prompt, I have to locate the iPod through Explorer and can only find an option to download all my photo's again, even the ones that are already on the PC. I have loads of photos and this would take ages and they would all need re-filing, so don't really want to do this.
I'm sure this is a simple but am not too good at fixing IT issues.
The iPod synchs music automatically with iTunes.
    Thanks

  • IPod touch can't synch .mov files with iTunes.

My iPod touch can't synch .mov files with iTunes. The error message says that the files were not transfered because they can't be read on my device.  I'm not able to transfer any mp4 files, either.  These are my own short animations, small files (under 2MB). Home sharing is on.  I'm trying to synch with the latest version of iTunes on a Windows 7 64-bit machine.  Thanks.

    See:
iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Yo may have to use a third-party computer program like HandBrake to convert the format to one compatible withthe iPod
