IPod Touch 3g White Screen, What Part Could Be Deffective?

Every time I try to turn my iPod 3g on I am greeted with a white screen, known as the white screen of death. I know there are many possible reasons for this, but it's not a software issue, it's fully recognised in iTunes. I'm wondering is it more likely to be the didgitizer or the lcd display? So I know which one to replace.

It is not the digitizer but usually the LCD display but it could be the logic board.
Have you tried restoring the iPod to factory setting/new iPod?

dude your going to have to take it to apple because i can't tell if it's a hardware or software defect. your ipod might not be in warranty unless you got apple care.

4th gen ipod touch has white screen

I have a 4th generation Ipod touch. The screen turned white all of a sudden for no reason. I've tried holding buttons letting it die and plugging it back in but the white screen is still there.It still makes noise. like the other day it was making a noise like someone was calling it. Then if I press the sleep/wake button and home button it takes a picture and I can hear the noise but still have the white screen. Does anyone know what I can do? Thanks

> restore you iDevice with iTunes in Recovery Mode (if you have to... back up your device before restoring)
> let the battery go completely dead.... then plug it using USB to PC or Mac OS
> replace the LCD with www.ifixandrepair.com
> go to the Apple Store (official store not retail) and see what they can do. they can replace your device for refurbished price

My iPod Touch 4G's screen went white after using draw something and facebook apps. I've tried resetting, DFU, restoring and connecting it to iTunes... no work. But the screen is not completely white, it looks blackened now. I've tried holding menu button and then Sleep/Awake button and volume button for over ten or more times now. Please i got to fix this or I'm dead!!! PLEASE HELP MEEE!!!!!

If that does not work... try letting the battery fully drain.
Then Charge for an Hour and try the Reset again.

Yesterday my iPod Touch had a white screen and was hot. I tried holding the power button and home button and it didn't work. What happened was the iPod was off. I turned it on and saw it had 30% battery and then turned off wifi. I had it on a table, and came back 10 minutes and saw it was black and wouldn't turn on. I then tried to charge it and the screen became white and was really hot in the back especially. I think it was white for like an hour. I held the iPod in front of the AC to cool it down..... ..... It cooled it down and then the iPod went black ever since today. I can't seem to do anything to it...:/ My computer & iTunes do not recognize the device.

My little brother was playing my ipod and now its got millions of seconds before i can access my ipod. Now tho the screen is white with static horizontal lines going across the screen, no pictures nothing so when i plug it into itunes, itunes ask for the passcode but i cannot see anything. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

IPod Touch displaying white screen

I went on an app [called My Horse] and it displayed the loading screen like usual, then it froze like it has before, usually resetting the my ipod works to fix it. I set it down gently to let it load, and it suddenly displayed a white screen, then a opaque black overlay went over the light.
I tried holding the lock/unlock and the home button for at least two minutes, and it still didn't do anything.
I hooked it up to itunes, itunes doesn't register the fact that it's plugged in.
Any ideas of what's wrong? Is it completly dead?
It's not jailbroken and nothing has been messed with, I usually only visit wikipedia and twitter and use it for listening to pandora on it.

Help. Bought our teenage daughter an Ipod touch 8G for Christmas. Computer crashed right before holidays so she's only been able to use for the last 3 weeks. she plugged it up to computer last night....woke up this morning and the screen is white....we've turned it off and nothing. it remains a white screen. Whats up? What can we do? Called support...of course they are closed. Daughter is freaking out....so am i by the way.....only 13....don't want to continue to invest in this thing. becoming to seem as if it wasn't worth it already

What does that mean?
You turned it off, screen went black and when you turned it back on, screen went white again??
Or maybe you never really turned it off?
Hold the top button and the front button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds until Apple logo appears and then wait several minutes for it to boot up.

Ipod Touch 32gb white screen

Hello, earlier today I was listening to my ipod, then all of a sudden the screen turned white. Everytime I turn my ipod on/off i still get the blank white screen.
I have checked other message boards and tried holding the menu and power button to restart it, but I still get the white screen. I've also checked apple's FAQ for the white screen problem http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2771 and my problem still persists.
I just did a system restore on my ipod but it is still not working.
I am just wondering if there are any other things that I could do to fix this. I am currently trying to drain the battery life to see if that will do anything.
I would only call apple and ask them to repair it as a last resort, because I do not want to spend $100+ just to get it fixed.
Is there anything else that I could try and do? If anyone has any helpful suggestions, please share them with me. Again, I would consider calling apple and getting it fixed by them as a last resort.

If no change after restoring your iPod Touch with iTunes as a new iPod Touch or not from the backup, your iPod Touch has a hardware problem.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

I have had the newest ipod touch for a year now no problems..I was just on Facebook and the screen froze then went white with a lot of blue and green colored lines on it. It won't do anything I have tried plugging it in and holding down sleep and the home button for ten seconds but I get nothing. What should I do?
