IPod Touch 4 with iOS5 not connecting to Yahoo Mail

After downloading iOS5 on my iPod Touch 4 I could not connect to my Yahoo Mail.
Read many suggestions and called Apple tech support. The tech tried to access Yahoo Mail and he had the same problem I did.
BUT... I fixed it on my own by process of elmination.
Go to...
Settings
Safari
Turn off Private Browsing ( this might be all you need to do)
then...
Scroll down to Advanced
Turn on Debug Console ( I'm not sure this step is necessary)
Change your Yahoo email password on your Mac or PC
Restart your iPod Touch
Try logging into yahoo mail from yahoo.com using your new password.
I think turning private browsing was the problem and I think it was added in iOS5.
I hope this saves all of you some aggravation. I spent 2 days trying to  fix.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I have an ipod touch and it will not connect to my wifi.  It has in the past but now it will not even give me the option to connect?

Did you just update to BUGGY OS 4.x???
All the updates starting with OS 4.x have completely screwed up most iPod Touch', especially older models like Gen 2 and 3.
Inability to connect to any WiFi.
Fluctuating WiFi signal no matter how close you are to the AP.
Drastically shortened battery life, even when in sleep mode.
And Apple hasn't done a **** thing since irritated owners have complained about it since the middle of 2011!!
(I am one of many thousands affected!) Look at older threads by searches of "Fluctuating WiFi", Terrible Battery Life, for the Touch and iPhone.
This is why I bought an Android tablet instead of an iFad this Xmas. Non-existant Apple support!

Until recently, I had no problem with this connection and it will connect to BT Fon and BTOpenworld. I just cannot get it to connect at home any more. I also use a macbook pro and this is connected to the bt modem.

You should post this in the iPod Touch forum.  This is the iPod Shuffle forum.

you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.

  • Ipod touch 2g bluetooth will not connect after syncing with iTunes

Had my ipod touch 2nd gen working with Bluetooth pairing to my Jambox and Boss DVD player and previously had worked with my AudioEngine Bluetooth device. Had a problem with musc files giving me an 1309 error message, was able to just select music manually without sync until this problem came up.
Had to initiate the auto Sync with iTunes which removed the error message for Music and since then my Bluetooth pairing has stopped. Have ver 4.21 and the Bluetooth shows the bluetooth mac address.
The Love is gone for this device. It will not pair up with devices that were working under bluetooth last week.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    - On the iPod try resetting network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. You will have to repair Bt defive s and rejoin wifi networks
    - Reset the BT devices and repair.  You have to see the BT device manual for how to reset them.

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen iOS5 not synching on 64-Bit Windows 7 computer

I've been plagued with this problem ever since the iOS 5 update. To begin with I could not update to iOS5 with my main computer(Windows7 64-Bit) at ALL(the update would stop making progress when attempting to backup). I was having the same problem that many people on here have had anddecided to try updating with my auxiliary computer(running Windows XP) and Ifinally had iOS 5! After I updated my iPod, I had hoped that the synching issueI had been having would have resolved itself but that was not the case. After Irealized that it wouldn't sync with my main computer I decided to sync it withmy old computer and restore it to factory default settings and then do the"initial sync" and restore from my backup on my main computer. Finally I was getting my media from my main computer onto my iPod running iOS5,I thought this was fantastic and you can't imagine how happy this made me aftera month of dealing with this irritation. However, to my dismay, I came hometonight only to find that when I try to synch my iPod to my main computer itattempts to synch and then freezes in the second step of the synch while tryingto back up, just like it had when I was trying to update to iOS5. This has really caused way too much trouble for me and I've spent way too much time andeffort trying to remedy this problem.

My queston is does your iPod show up in iTunes when you conenct the iPod to another computer.

    If no:

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

  • IPod touch 4th gen will not connect to anything after update. Please help.

Ok, so I haven't updated my 4th gen ipod touch since I bought it, which was well over a year ago. Just recently, apps have started to force me to update to the newest iOS and many updates require it too, so I finally decided to update and get it over with. Well, I synced everything from my ipod and then updated. Well, to my horror after I came back I found out that even though I had CLEARLY synced my apps. They were gone on BOTH my ipod and my computer.
Not to say I was really ticked off or anything, but I had almost 15 GB or so of just apps on my 32 GB itouch. I read somewhere that I can go back and reinstall all my apps but that would be a PAIN. Turns out there aren't many others ways to go about doing it so I was left with little choice. Well, once again, I ran into the problem that absolutely nothing would connect on my ipod touch.
So, I have two problems actually:
    1. Is there anyway besides reinstalling apps for me to get back all the apps I had prior to updating my ipod? And in the future, how can I prevent itunes from deleting my apps when I clearly have them synced before updating?
    2. Why won't my ipod touch connect to anything wifi related? When I open the app store it just simply loads. And it will continue loading forever; I had it "loading" for about an hour until I decided to come here. Same goes with iCloud, facetime, Safari - just anything that has to do with connecting to my wifi.
Things I've done: I've restarted my ipod once already, I've reset my router as well, and I've also tried to disconnect from my router then reconnect. None of them have worked so far. Any help would be appreciated.

    - If synced media like apps and music are not in the iTunes library on the computer one which you update they will not be on the iPod after the update since the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media..

  • Ipod Touch Charges but does Not connect.

    Hello,
I do not know much about computers and even less on how to fix any issues but here is my problem
When I connect my Ipod Touch, it will charge but will not show up in my computer. I have a Dell Laptop Windows 7.
here is what I have tried
Uninstalled Itunes and then Reinstalled it. (I deleted Everything related to iTunes)
Rest iPod by holding the Power and Home button. I even Turned it off and then On.
I went into my Computer under Services and Stopped then started my Apple Mobile Device and made sure it was on Automatic Start Up Type.
Plugged it in my Sister's Laptop and it installed the linked to her iTunes no problem.
    ANy ideas?

    Did you do everything here:

  • My iPod touch 4th gen does not connect to itunes

Okay, so I never had problems with my iTunes until recently. Whenever I connect my iPod 4th gen into the computer, it connects and charges but doesn't show up in my iTunes. My iPod works and everything, it just won't connect to iTunes. I reinstalled iTunes completely like it said in support, and I have restarted Apple Mobile Device, several times. I have the current iTunes 10.4 too. Does it have anything to do with connecting my iPad 2 into the iTunes? Because it was fine up until I had done so. Also, when I check my services the Apple Mobile Device service is stopped when I connect my iPod. Before it, it says running though. My iPod will also connect to other computers, just not my own. All other computers have also not had the iPad 2 connected to it. Any thoughts? I would really like to sync my games and music to my library again, without having to go to my sibiling's computer.

Did you try to create a new user account in Windows, set up your iTunes account, disable autosync and connect your ipod? Try to transfer your purchases and back up manually before your sync for the first time. And don't forget to set up at least one contact and event in Woindows, to ba able to merge contacts and calendars.
If this works, try to do the same for your ipad. If still ok, you might have to remove all Apple related Software for your other account, as described here: Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Did you also check your security software settings?
    Additional Information
If the Apple Mobile Device Service still will not start, or if it stops unexpectedly, this could be caused by third-party security software. Please follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
