IPod Touch 4G 5.1 won't restore

So 2 days ago I got a new iPod Touch 4G and later that night I updated to version 5.1. Yesterday afternoon while I was on Safari, the screen went white so I left it for a couple hours and it was fine when I came back. Then later last night I was on Safari and it glitched up and went white. I left it and nothing was working. I tried to reset it and it gave me the screen with the itunes symbol and the usb cable. So i plugged it in and iTunes told me to restore it. As it was restoring, it said there was an error 14. So I went online this morning and tried the tips Apple gives for this error. It started restoring but it froze about 1/7 of the way there and it didn't move at all for the 8 hours I left it there. I keep trying to restore it but nothing happens....anyone know what I can do?

There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

Yes. You can set the payment method to "None" once you log into iTunes on your PC/Mac. I have it set up this way.

If it is still under warranty you can call the 800 number to apple and enter the serial number and it will tell you if it is under warranty or not if not its like $30 basically for them to help or something like that it said today when i called...
Or take it to a genius bar if you have one near?

Yes, I've been using it for months. And I can charge other devices with it. (my iPhone) but something weird just happened..... I kept on pluging it in the iPod and sometimes it would start to chàrge then sometimes it won't charge. Charges every time with the iPhone though.

Hi, when you say you have tried everything... I presume you have gone into Settings > Store and logged out and back in with your account details?
You could try purchasing an app via iTunes to see if its an issue with the device or the account you're using.
