IPod touch 4G battery issue with iOs5...battery goes dry in less than a day after upgrading to iOs 5...why is that?

hi people out there...!
I have an iPod Touch 4G purchased on november 2010, and since then until two days ago, I had iOs 4.3.x and everything went very good about battery charge...I used to have my iPod on standby mode for several days, and never had a trouble with it...
but two days ago, I upgraded to iOs 5, and then and there, the troubles began...my battery lasts no more than a day, even on standby mode...
NO wifi on, NO bluetooth on, no movies watched, no games played, just using Virtuoso Piano free app for minutes...
is the new iOs 5 having trouble about managing battery?
anyone of you have same trouble?
anyone of you know about a solution?
I was searching on the web about this issue, and several comments I've found out, but I would like to know about it from the Apple themselves...
thanks for your time people...Light to all of us...!!!

Using the battery level meter in this manner is comparable to using your car's fuel gauge to calculate miles per gallon.  The only thing that matters is the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown.
Use the wall-mount charger that came with the iPad and charge overnight.  Admittedly the labeling is hard to read but, if you use a magnifier and squint your eyes, you'll see "Output 5.1V, 2.1A."  The symbol between volts and amps is the symbol for DC.  Do NOT use an iPhone charger.  Do NOT use an iPod charger.  Then, operate it normally until auto shut-down (ignore any low level alerts that may appear).  An irony is that doing that test to determine the total operating time is also the exact procedure necessary to calibrate the battery level meter..
I'm not claiming that you do not have a problem.  I am stating, however, that we don't yet know whether or not a battery problem exists.
According to Apple:
Use Your iPad Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
Elsewhere, Apple elaborates and explains that two half-discharges (or four quarter-discharges, etc.) equals one full discharge.
I'm not saying that you don't have a problem.  However, I am saying that we don't know.

Having the same problem here. As a first time mac user, Apple has certainly made a bad first impression.
For me, the issue seems to occur when transferring files between computers that are connected to the same access point (when transferring files from wired computers on the network there is no issue). My vista laptop and every laptop I have tried has worked perfectly fine with this access point so I am 100% convinced it is the mac. Basically when I copy the files, after about 100mb, I am unable to access anything on the local network or internet until I restart Airport. The weird thing is that even though I am unable to access anything, the airport utility says it is connected. I might also note that the wireless signal strength is full.
If I can't get this figured out in a few days, this computer is going back to the store where it came from and I will officially label myself anti-mac. This type of issue is just unacceptable for something so main stream.

  • Music albums purchased in March are no longer in my iPad and iPod after upgrading to iOS 7 why?

After upgrading to iOS 7 all the music albums purchased in March are no longer in the iPad or the iPod although in the iTunes Store are shown as purchased. How I can get them back?

    Your original post:
I upgraded an iPad 2 to iOS 7 and since then SIRI no longer works when pressing the HOME button.  The settings for SIRI has also disappeared in the GENERAL settings.  I have searched and found no posts with this issue!

Perhaps it might help if you posted your model number as it seems unclear which iPad you actually have. Settings>General>About

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen trouble with iOS5-iCloud

    Hi,
I trying to set up my daughters 4th GEN iPod touch with iOS5 and get it talking to iCloud. I've got everytthing set up for her on our iMac, and see is "in the cloud" as far as the Mac is concerned. After downloading iOS5 and installing it, I'm going through the brief setup procedure to get the iPod talking to iCloud. Everyhting goes well until the very end when I get a window that says: "Could Not Sign In. Apple ID couldn't be created because of a server error" Is this just Apple getting crushed, or am I doing something wrong?

    Hi,
Yes, I have restored from Backup via i-Cloud. I've restored the iPod to factory settings.  It seem like there is a driver issue.  I installed iOS 5.01 and updated iTunes to 10.5.3.3 at about the same time.  Win-Vista64, iTunes and iPod are all up to date.  Apple Genius, at local Apple store was also perplexed.  He suggested I ask the community.  So, here I am.
It is strange that I can connect to other computers.  But, the other computers have Win 7.  Could this be a Vista64 driver issue?

  • IPod Touch 3G 64GB issues with iOS 5

With my iPod Touch 3rd generation 64 GB, the amount of gigs has dropped at least 2-3 since upgrading to iOS 5. Maybe it's just that much bigger, but I can't see how it could be. Additionally, browsing through music is extremely slow. Also, all the artists names are out of whack (showing up under different letters) or not being shown at all (I have to search to find bands I've added). Also, the playlists are not updating correctly when syncing with iTunes. This may be the worst update I've seen from Apple - it's ridiculous that I bought this iPod to use for music and they completely screwed that whole function up so I can "Message" people instead. Go figure.

When you connect to iTunes, how much of the storage is shown as "other"?  Some users have had files corrupted during the upgrade and put in the "other" category.  To get the other down to its normal, about 1/2 GB, you need to retore your iPod.  A restore from bckup works if the other is not in yur backup.  To prevent the backup from now containing th other when you connect to retore, make sure tha auto-syncing upon connecting is turned off. (iTunes>Prfeences>Devices>check box that says Prevents iPods... Syncing.

  • Battery Issue With iPod Classic?

I have my iPod hooked up to my radio so it usually just charges that way, but I kept having low battery so I decided to charge it all the way and then reboot it and when I rebooted and the iPod turned back on it went straight "to low battery" or "no power remaining" and it never use to do this.

  • IPod Touch 5th gen suddenly has terrible battery life after updating to ios 8.0.2!

I updated to ios 8.0.2 around 2 weeks ago and bam! the next day I wake up and use my ipod (I usually leave it on during the night, and battery is still good) and it's down to 50%, then to 20% later! And now the battery is terrible! it goes down much faster than before! I have bluetooth and all the battery killer stuff off before, so my battery was really good...and now it's horrible!
Have you guys experienced this? Any solutions? Is this some bug?

  • Battery Issues with Droid Pro by Motorola

My wife and I recently got smartphones. I got the Casio Commando, and she got the Droid Pro.
I've been very happy with the Commando, but she's had nothing but issues with the battery on her Droid Pro. She has to constantly charge the thing, even when she has all the background data, GPS, everything turned off on her phone. It just seems to drain like nobody's business. She tried an app killer program, and that didn't work.
Anyone got any suggestions for a couple of smartphone rookies having battery issues?
Aside from the battery problem, the phones have both been fantastic.

I had similar problems with my origianl Droid and battery.
Verizon replaced my battery and it was very much improved.  I normally have no problem getting a full day with normal use.
Make sure WIFI is turned off as well and that e-mail is NOT set to "Push" mode (constantly checking for e-mail).  I have mine set to check for e-mail every 30 mintues.
Also, be sure to check "settings/application/running Services to see what is using up resources.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • So how come after all this time, iPod touch still doesn't have a battery percentage option under the usage section...?

    Why????

    HI rjdfja,
Sorry to interupt Nickyizcool but the battey percentage feature is not available on the iPod Touch as it is with the iPhone and iPad.  Only Apple knows if it will be added in the future. If you like to leave them feedback about this, use the form on this page.
