IPod touch 4G setup stuck

Hey, I bought an iPod touch last Saturday and it was having connection problems so I exchanged it for a new one. I'm stuck on the setup of my new iPod and can't get past this step. I did not see this screen with the setup of my last iPod touch. I have just entered in my apple account information and now it comes to this page:
http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/3073/itunesstuck.png
I click the links and nothing happens, when you right click the only option is to copy link. They are javascript links as I've found out from copy & pasting.
I ran the network diagnostic and the connect to a secure link to iTunes Store failed and the connection attempt to firmware update timed out, but everything else is fine.
I can't even update the OS because I'm still stuck this screen.. any suggestions?
Thanks

To activate your iPod so you can use it you need (per Apple's 4G spec page):
System requirements
USB 2.0
iTunes 10 or later
Mac: Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
PC: Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP Home or Professional (SP3) or later
Broadband Internet access required; fees may apply.
It says you need an internet connection for activation.
You can't use the iPod before it is activated.
Can't you find a computer to use for activation? Just do not sync to that computer since that creates problems when you connect to another computer.

  • Ipod Touch 5th gen stuck in restore mode

My Ipod Touch 5th gen stuck in restore loop i keep clicking restore and i just keeps downloading the ipod software update, and i wont restore it just keeps saying that a ipod was found in restore mode..... Can someone please help

The same thing happened to me, while restoring my iPod Touch Generation 5.  I don't know if you are still caught in the same loop but this worked for me.  I am using a MacBook Air running Mountain Lion version 10.8.2.  iTunes is at version 11.0.
After running through the published Restore procedure without any success I found the Software Update file had downloaded as:
    "/Users/my_home_directory/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates/iPod5,1_6.0.1_10A523_Restore.ipsw"
The ~/Library directory is invisible on my machine, more than likely a design standard.  I used a terminal to first locate the file and then to copy the file to a readable location, my Desktop.
My iPod was still stuck in Recovery Mode so I plugged it in.  iTunes was already running and identified the Recovery Mode iPod, prompting me to Restore it.  I clicked OK.
I held the option key while clicking Restore.  This opened a navitation window that enabled me to select the Software Update .ipsw file I had copied to my Desktop.  The Restore process then ran without any failure and the iPod is now running again.
This is not a formal solution as far as I can tell, nor have I verified the procedure across multiple iPods, multiple scenarios, etc.  I just wanted to share it as an "at-your-own-risk" alternative you might want to try.
    Good luck, cupcakequeen83.

    You can try 2 things:
Restart your iPod by - Holding the Power and Home buttons until you see the Apple logo.
Put your iPod in DFU and restore - Hold the Power and Home until the screen goes black, wait about 2 seconds, release the power button but keep holding the home for 15 seconds, then on iTunes, Restore and Update.

  • Tried to update ipod touch software now stuck in recovery loop any ideas?

tried to update software on brand new ipod touch but now stuck in recovery mode (displaying usb plug into itunes logo) any ideas?

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

  • My IPod touch 5 is stuck on set up and I forgot my Icloud email and password. HELP!!

My cousin found an IPod touch 5 and gave it to me but it is stuck on the part where you can set it up and it is asking me to log in with the account that the iPod was setup with first, but I don't know it because I didn't set up the IPod and I can't contact the owner because I don't know who it is and neither does my cousin because she found it at a park. Is there anything I can do and if there is can you please help me?

There is nothing you can do. The device has been Activation Locked by the owner of the device, and no one else can use it. Turn it into the Police. You cannot do anything with it:

  • Brand New iPod Touch - It's stuck and not being recognized by iTunes

I just got a new iPod Touch for a gift. I plugged it in and it needed to update software to 4.0. I allowed it to download and install and left the computer alone. Came back and it is currently stuck showing the screen with the USB and the iTunes symbol. It is no longer recognized on iTunes when I plug it in. I cannot get it off this screen, I would do a restore but iTunes does not recognize this. When I plug the iPod touch in, it shows up in device manager as Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode) (2 of them). I am able to install the drivers on one and the other it will not let me and gives me a code 10. This is very frustrating especially since I have owned it less than 5 hours.
PLEASE HELP I HAVE SEARCHED FOR HOURS NOTHING WORKS!!!

Try Updating Itunes to the latest version

  • My iPod Touch 4g is stuck in Apple Mode after attempting to install the Siri GUI. What can I do to restore?

I have an 8GB, 4g iPod Touch. It has the lastest iOS on it (iOS 5). Yesterday I used Cydia to jailbreak it. I had no idea what I was doing but I followed step-by-step instuctions and it worked! Needless to say, I've messed up several times (while rebooting) and I am now a Pro!! Lol. Anyway, today, I was installing the Siri GUI software onto the iPod. It was a long and drawn out process and I'm assuming that I did it wrong. It was stuck in the black screen with the little (loading) loop. It sat there for about 30 minutes. Sometimes the loop would spin, sometimes it would just be there. Finally, I pushed the Home and Power buttons at the same time and I got the Apple Logo. And this is where I am stuck now.
I have tried a number of things, such as:
    * Holding down the power button and hoping that the "slide to power off" screen would come up. No response.
    * Holding down the Power AND Home buttons at the same time thinking the "connect to iTunes screen" would come up. The screen just goes black and then the Apple Logo comes back up.
    * I've tried connecting to iTunes but it doesn't recognize my device. My laptop doesn't even "ding" when I plug it in. I've tried changing the USB port that I have the cord plugged into. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. I've restarted my computer. I've went through the Apple Support troubleshooter and dealt with the "third party conflicts".
I'm not sure what else to do here. I realize that I probably should not be downloading, jailbreaking and attempting to 'mod' my iPod- I don't even know what DFU mode, GUI or most of the other hi-tech words mean. I am just pretty good at following directions, lol.
    Can someone please help??
I'm using a Windows 7 OS on my laptop, not MAC.

I suggest try getting it back to your stock iOS and forget about jailbreaking.
