My iPod is really important and has loads of pictures and things on.
Try the following but the iPod may have to be erased.:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

How to fix a frozen ipod touch, it only shows the apple logo?
How do you fix a frozen ipod touch, it only shows the apple logo?
Hello,
I have same broken iPod Touch 4G, I'm stuck on the Apple logo and only what I can do is just restart. If I connect iPod turns on but that's all. I checked a lot of tricks how to restart/reboot device and how to get DFU but I have only the logo. iTunes on my mac can't recognize the device.
And in Apple retail store the guy told me: sorry it's dead. We can fix for about £200. After 1 month when my waranty is finished. Funny isn't it? I can't believe that my lovely iPod is dead after 13 months. Where is the "for quality you have to pay." Is it conspiracy if you don't buy extra waranty we will send you killing signal into your iDevice?
Many thanks for help -

My ipod will only show the dead battery screen and wont taking a charge.
my ipod will only show the dead battery screen and wont taking a charge on any of my sinc cords or my outlet charger. And I have checked that nothing is in the plug port blocking the electrodes. What do I do now?
Put the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore via iTunes.

My iPhone 3GS has frozen. It was going slow all day, and has now completely frozen on the turning off screen. Anyone any ideas? Thanks.
The iOs 5.1 is a huge file that needs to be dowloaded when updating/restoring, your phone hasnt completed the update so its now in recovery mode. Look on the left of itunes, it should say downloads under the store section with a spinning wheel, click that and youll see the update file with a time remaining, wait for that download to finish then try the restore again and it should work

My iPod touch is stuck on the Apple logo screen. What do I do??
Hello Melissa,
Have you tried a hard reset yet? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. You may need to try this more than once.
Any luck there?

Ipod touch will not won't turn off
How do u turn off an iPod touch? Holding down the off button isn't working. I also noticed that I can't adjust the volume using the outer buttons either.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -
IPod 30GB 5G sometimes does not turn off...
Hello,
I just got my iPod 5G and have been playing around with it. Very awesome player!
But, I have a question about it turning off when I hold the play/pause button. Sometimes when I hold the button, the iPod turns off but if I move my thumb around on the scroll wheel, I can hear it click and when I turn it on the volume was adjusted. But, sometimes when I turn off the iPod by holding the button, the iPod turns off and I do not hear it clicking when I move my thumb around.
I can also hold the button just long enough to turn the backlight off, but that mode I am aware off.
Is the iPod supposed to be doing what I described? Is it another mode of operation to conserve the battery?
Thanks,
Alexmy 5g 30gb ipod first did that when i got it. it would shutoff but moving my finger around it still clicked so i just switched the hold button on and i heard nothing but after a week it just didnt turn off at all and the only way i could ever shut it off was when i had it plugged in to the computer.
