  • I am using iPod Touch 5th gen and my location services doesn't work.

When I'm in other places with wi-fi, the location services work perfectly; when I'm home, it doesn't work. What should I do?
Some forum says I need to register my point of connection using my ISP. Please tell me how to do it.

For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, it appears that the iPod can't see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.
Get somebody to come over with an iPhone and use your wifi network

    - See:

    - Try another cable if available
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • HT1386 My Ipod and Ipod touch both sync and update latest CD music added to Itunes, however when I connect my Iphone it wont sync my most recent CD addition to iTunes?

My Ipod and Ipod touch both sync and update latest CD music added to Itunes, however when I connect my Iphone it wont sync my most recent CD addition to iTunes?

I have my iTunes settings to prevent my iPod from synching automatically.
Open iTunes (without the iPod Touch connected) , go to "iTunes"--->"Preferences"--->"Devices", select the box that says "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from synching automatically", select "OK".
I would then close iTunes and then reopen it.  Verify that the settings you just changed are intact.
Log into the iTunes store and update any Apps that you may have purchased.
Connect the iPod Touch via USB with iTunes open.  You will see the icon on the left side under "Devices" as normal, however it will not automatically sync.
Click on the "Device" in iTunes and from there you can manually adjust all the items you want to sync and then select sync when you are ready.
I sync mine this way because I feel it gives me more control over the syncing process.  Also, I always log into the iTunes store first, check for updates to my Apps and then connect the iPod to manually sync.
So, to me, I guess that perhaps is a way to "force" the sync but in a controlled manner.
    I hope that helps.

  • Will contacts deleted on iPod Touch truly sync and get deleted in AB?

I have many, probably 100, duplicates of contacts in my Address Book and thus on my iPod Touch, which I would like to delete on the iPod Touch and then sync and have them also delete on my MacBook Pro.  Is it possible to do this?  Or will the computer try to 'save' or 'keep' these contacts? (I want to delete them from the Touch and sync it to the computer - rather than vice versa - because I am without my MB Pro for a month and would like to handle this now.)
The Touch manual says "contacts are synced both ways between your computer and iPod Touch. New entries or changes made on iPod Touch are synced to your computer."
This is not entirely clear because the computer could decide that these are not "changes" but deletion on the Touch and might just keep them in the OS 10 Address Book application.  Another unsuccessful possibility could be that the MB Pro syncs them back onto the iPod Touch which it might consider as doing it's side of the syncing job, which would defeat the purpose of what I'm trying to do.
Any clear definite answers to this so I won't have to do this process of deleting duplicate entries twice should they not delete on the MB Pro?
    Thanks.

Instead of deleting the duplicates on your touch, delete them on your Mac. After that, use the feature to replace all contact info on the ipod during the next sync in iTunes. You can find this option in the info pane, advanced section with your ipod connected.

  • My iPod touch wont sync or charge on my computer, but charges in a dock

All of a sudden my iPod touch (3rd gen) is not syncing to my computer or charging on the computer, but it will charge in a separate docking station. This started on Sat 1/8/11, Friday it worked & Saturday it didn't. I did not do any updating of tunes prior to problem and I am working with the most updated itunes software. I have tried multiple usb ports & multiple cords & none of them work. I also have a plug that goes into the wall using the usb & it does not work now either.
Of course my warranty was up 21 days ago. Help me please! I'm desperate.

  • IPod Touch stops syncing and disappears from iTunes

I have a problem with an iPod Touch 8GB: when connecting it to a MacBook, it starts syncing and transferring songs, but after a while it just stops syncing and disappears from iTunes. The iPod will still show "sync in progress", and it will still show up in the System Profiler, but not in iTunes.
If I cancel the sync from the iPod, the song library will be inaccessible ("Cancelling sync" or whatever it says) until I unplug the USB cable. If I keep trying (by unplugging and re-plugging it in), it will eventually finish syncing all songs, but it takes ages that way.
I have tried 2 different USB cables and upgraded to firmware 1.1.5 (it was 1.1.4 before). Any ideas?

I have upgraded to 2.0.1 and the latest itunes as of today and still have the exact same issue. I have even tried the following with no luck :
    1. Restart the ipod after this occurs and then sync again.
    2. Deleted my entire list of Music and Videos from itunes and reloaded them back.
    3. Formatted and Reinstalled Windows and tried syncing again.
Thanks to this issue, i dont even have a single song or Video on my ipod....
    Can someone please Help.

  • Ipod Touch not syncing and/shutting down Windows 7 x64

I recently upgraded my HP Pavilion to Windows 7 Home Premium, from Vista Home Premium and have been experiencing a major problem with the connection of my iPod touch to my computer. The iPod is a 16GB (ver. 3.2.1(7D11)). The issue is that my iPod won't sync anymore to my computer. When I connect the device, iTunes opens and starts to sync. About 20 seconds later the iPod shuts off and the computer restarts...blue screen...and reboots like nothing happened. Error reporting shows a "Video Hardware Error" with a bunch of information about the problem. I have searched and searched for different solutions (reinstalling iTunes, going in from a different user account on the computer, deleted certain files or resetting settings) with no results that remotely fix the issue. It's to the point now that the iPod won't sync at all and I have no way to get new music, etc onto the device. Any thoughts?

Found a fix...this is a hotfix that is through MS and spans multiple posts. It's a USB hotfix for people needing to fix many issues (external HD, thumb drives, ipods, etc...). Things to remember, this hotfix is for Win 7 with certain parameters, please read the posts for seeing if your machine is applicable to the hotfix. Also, USE INTERNET EXPLORER for all downloads and fixes through MS. For some reason Firefox send incorrect data to MS. Below is the link the the hotfix discussion. Mark, a MS Pro Tech is on that really helped get this going. I hope this works, two sync's in and we are all square. Thanks for your patience.

  • Ipod Touch 4g won't charge with New Cord/Old Cord nor will it turn on.?

What I lovely day, I get back from camping, my ipod was ran dead because we were blaring music having a good time. I see the red battery symbol with the Plug Arrow Charge Symbol thing. And i'm thinking, Ok i'll just plug it into the car when we leave. I plug it into the USB car lighter Converter and it doesn't charge, so now i'm thinking "Ok that thing was rubbish anyways i'll wait until I get home. When I get home I pull out my trusty official apple thick Charging cable and plug it into the wall, doesn't work. I try my computer, doesn't work. I've tried the new thin cables, doesn't work. Whenever I try using the on/off button nothing happens, I try the on/off button with the home button and the screen flashes (backlight) black and white then shows the red battery thing again. And NOTHING works.

After connecting to a charger for hald hour, reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - If OK you are done
    - Next connect to your computer.  If ithe iPod shows in iTunes, restore the iPod via iTunes
    - If not seen, place the iPod in recoverymode and then try to restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

  • Ipod Touch not syncing and needing to be restored everytime I try to sync

I have a 64gb Ipod touch 5th generation. It is about two years old. I have never dropped it nor has it ever had water damage.
Every time I try to add new music to my ipod, it will not sync properly and it freezes after about 20mins of syncing and will then say my ipod is over capacity but I have 20gb remaining. I will then need to restore my ipod and add all my music back and it will then eventually sync all of the music.
I can't seem to find a way to fix this, How do I sync new music to my ipod with having to restore it each time.
It will also not restore to a previous backed up version.

  • My iPod touch screen is white but resetting it doesn't work. What do I do?

I turned on my iPod touch and the screen was white with blue pixelations. I tried holding the home button and power button simultaneously for 10 seconds to reset it but it just went black and then restarted with a white screen again. I don't know if it's something I can fix by restoring it on iTunes or if I have to send it in to get it repaired. Any suggestions?

    - Try connecting to comutr and then try to restor.
    - If still white screen, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try the reset and restore again.
