IPOD touch 4g synchronisation and recharging do not work.

My iPOD touch 4g does no longer recharge and snchronise with my PC via the normal USB cable. Does the dock connector need to be replaced?

- See:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
- Try another cable
- Try another charging source
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

  • HT4623 I tried to update my ipod touch through itunes and it did not work.

Now my ipod is in recovery mode and it wont recover after attempting to update to the new update!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod Touch 5 flash and camera flash not working

It randomly stopped working today for some reason. Is this affecting anybody else? I left it on for a little bit last night but I doubt that would cause anything.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Some other users have reported a hardware problem

my ipod touch got wet and now is broken - I purchased a new ipod touch and want to know how I get my purchased apps onto my new ipod touch

To restore app data, the apps have to be in the iTunes library of the computer on which you do the restore. The iPod ackup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

  • I have an iPod Touch (4th generation) and I am not able to get the new Apple iOS 5 software update...

    Hello all,
I need some assistance with downloading the new iOS 5 software for my iPod touch 4th generation (32GB). Once connected, my iTunes says that a newer version is available and when I click on "update," the standard boxes appear and when i click on "download and update," it appears to download just as expected, but after a few minutes, an error box pops up and says that my "network connection timed out" and to "try again later"...
I have tried to get around this in every which way possible, but the same error box pops up each time. I have checked AND double checked my network and its connections and I am 100 percent sure they are stable. I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes (10.5). I even re-installed it, just in case. I have also tried clicking the "download only" option instead of "download and update"... No different.
In previous discussions, I have inferred that having my media on an external hard drive may cause some issues...? If this is the case, please note that all my media is on an external hard drive that connects to my computer via USB.
I am looking for any and all advice to help resolve this issue as the my warrenty has expired and I do not want to pay for Apple Support. : ) plus, iOS 5 looks so cool and I really really want it!!!!
    Please Help!!
    Sincerely,
    Deanna

I disabled all my computer's firewalls and sure enough, IT WORKED!! My iPod is updated and just now finishing restoring! Thank you SOOOO SOOO much. : D

  • My iPod touch got stolen and I'm not sure how to get it back.

It's a stupid coincidence really. At school, I left my iPod nano and my iPod touch in my pocket, them both in my zipped one:/ the iPod nano I'm not really concerned about. What happened was I left it in my blazer (I'm from the UK) and it was in the changing rooms because I was doing swimming. And after swimming I looked in my pockets and they were both gone including my earphones and they were not installed into thhe iPod that time. Nothing fell out because my bottle of water was in my big pocket at the front. There's no tracking device on them obviously not on the nano but I'm trying my best to find them both:/ I regret leaving them in there now.
If you know how I could possibly get them back tell me please:/.
    Thankyouu.

Since you did not set up the FindMyiPod feature on the iPod touch, there is nothing special you can do to find the itmes.  Just look.  Also, report it to the police, and maybe the school, and change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.  Sorry about the loss.

  • IPod touch is disabled and I have not yet synced it with my new iMac - how do I reset or cancel the password ?

I have only just bought a new iMac and still setting it up.  My son has forgotten his iPod password.  I have not even had chance to synce all devices yet - so I can not just connect to computer.  Our previous computer died so I am unable to connect to old computer where we had previously had all devices synced.
Is there anyway of deleting his password from his ipod 4th Gen ?

  • I have a iPod touch 3rd generation and it will not turn on or charge.

This iPod, when ever I turn it on all I get is the apple logo. Then about five minuts later, it tells me to plug it up, you know, the low battery simbole. But the kicker is that it is always pluged up when it is doing this! Can you tell me how to restor this iPod? I've tried force recovery but I discontinued it from my account. I've heard if you plug up to a computer it will charge better, didn't work. Thanks for helping me. Cameron44
