IPod Touch 4G various problems

Hello,
First of all, since the upgrade to iOS 6, I have problems that I never had before!
Starting with the battery. I have to recharge my iPod 2 times a day now just because I listen to music. There's no games here. No Bluetooth enabled. I remain connected only through WIFI at least to save some battery. However, I lose the battery quickly. I began to dread the 40h of audio because it lasts for 8 hours before I have to recharge it again!
Secondly, I have games that are more difficult to play due to lack of memory. The games are jerky, if I have a bonus in a game and I have to go to safari browser, the game closes, as if multitasking is useless. Worse, I think it's useless because the apps close immediately after I return to the home screen, if I return to the app, it restarts, and I lose everything I've done. For example mail, if I have to copy and paste from Safari, I multitask to Safari, I copy the text, and when I return to the app mail, the email I was composing no longer exists, the app restarts and I have to rewrite everything from scratch.
The App Store and the iTunes store, the music section and the purchased app section: What a Disaster!!! If I want to access my apps or my music that is stored in the cloud, the store freezes and it brings me back to home screen. The App Store is soooooooo slow. Don't even think of asking me if I restored my iPod, cause I did 5 times all ready! On iOS 5.1.1, I was able to access anything and fast. I was able to go to my purchased apps and redownload my favorite apps; not any more!!! After the update, everything is the opposite!
I hope this information will be helpful if someone can help me. I need help, I want to use my iPod Touch 4G longer, better, please. Thank you.

Ok. I really want to know this. Anyone who'se using an iPhone 3GS, an iPhone 4, an iPod Touch 3G or an iPod Touch 4G, that has more than 300 apps on his iCloud: are you guys able to access them with no problem from the Purchased section in the App Store? I can't. iOS 6.0.1 didn't fix this bug for me, as an apple customer from 2009, I beleive that I have more than 300 apps, and I can't access them from the Purchased section in the App Store on my iPod Touch 4G. This is not my fault, I haven't done anything to my precious technology, but how is it possible that on the new iPod Touch 5G, I've been able to access my Purchased Apps on the App Store, and that on my iPod Touch 4G, the App Store bugs all the time???
And please, I don't need to book an appointment with the genius bar (that's what I've been told by Apple Assistants who are working there), cause this is for hardware problems. I'm using this iPod for 2 years now, no problems on iOS 5.1.1, but how can I get a hardware problem with an OS update?
I beleive that i'll have to wait till iOS 6.2 or iOS 7 to make things work again!

Usually deleting the iPod Photo Cache Folder works. Note that if you sync via the folder method, make sure you dlete all the ifolders since :

Hey Silverdemon, sounds like a short, most likely in the headphones. Try a different set of headphones with this iPod or try the headphones with a different device. If the problem stops with your iPod or it moves to another device, then replace the headphones. If within 1 year of date of purchase Apple will replace the headphones for free if problem is a defect, not abuse. If the problem continues with a different set of headphones, check the port for damage and foreign debris. If you note debris, attempt to remove it, if damage noted contact Apple and set up an appointment to have it evaluated. if nothing appears wrong, try plugging / unplugging to jack about 12 times maybe corrosion on the contacts if so that should clean it. Next thing to try reset your iPod. After that try restore from backup. Last resort, restore to new. Just make sure you make a full backup to your computer before you restore so no data is lost. If nothing works, contact Apple and set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

New iMac with existing iPod Touch (64G) authorization problem

I got a new iMac and transferred everything over to it from my existing iMac using the migration assistant during the first boot-up. When I sync my existing iPod touch (64G 3rd gen) I get stuck in an authorization loop where the Mac says I need to authorize the computer, I do so and then it says the computer is already authorized. New CDs that I have imported into my iTunes library since I bought the new iMac will not load onto the Touch during sync and some (but not all) of the music that I have purchased from iTunes will not play on the iMac. I have already checked to make sure that I have all the recent software updates and I do.
Any idea what is going on and how to solve this frustrating problem?

Deauthorizing and reauthorizing my Mac solved the problem with not being able to sync newly imported CDs with my iPod Touch.
The problem with not being able to access some of my purchased iTunes music is a function of having 2 different iTunes accounts that I bought tunes with. I'll need to contact apple customer service to sort that one out.

Force close the App Store app and reset the iPad. No data will be lost when you reset the device.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

OK, My house has had Wi-Fi in it for a while now and i have been able to use it with my ipod touch with no problems. Yesterday my dad put a lock on the Wi-Fi and now it does not work on my iPod. I know that the Wi-Fi still works because my computer uses the same network and i know that i am loge into the network because it says you are loged into my network. It also says when i try to go to a web site "Safari can't open the page because it can't find the server." but i have full signal streanght. anyone got any ideas about what is going on? help.

If I was in your shoes, I would choose to restore the iPhone with iTunes and then choose to NOT restore a previous backup. I'd then go on to set up the phone as though it were totally new, and choose the stuff to load onto it.
The reason I'd go through that trouble.. even though it meant losing a lot of settings and having to set stuff up again .. is because I wasn't sure I could trust the backup that it's restoring from.
If you have trouble again after doing the fresh reload -- especially if it's soon after you do it -- you may have a hardware issue with the phone, such as faulty flash memory or a processor chip that's failing. If that's the case, you'll want to consider your repair/replacement options at that point.

Is there a way to fix ipod touch screen display problem with song list?

I was wondering if anybody has had this problem? I have an ipod touch 64gig 5th gen for probably about 2 years. I hardly use it because I have it as a back up ipod until primary one dies. This is the first time I came across this problem. Upon turning on device, the first artist/song list I choose displays correctly. Once I start choosing any other artist/song list afterwards, the display for the 1st artist/song list re-appears. If the song list is only a single song to 3-4 songs it will display correctly. Any other song list I choose that consist more than 5 songs, the first artist/song list re-appears on screen like the display is messed up.
For example: Upon turning on device, I choose Aaliyah with a list of 9 songs displaying.
Upon trying to select a different artist and song, for example I choose Nachtmar with a list of 20 songs.
The Aaliyah with the list of 9 songs re appears in place of the song list I am attempting to choose. The songs play and it works, but the display is incorrect. Why is it doing this? Does anybody have this problem? I have tried resetting and it has currently been updated. I have came across this problem just very recently a couple of days ago. I have had a couple of hard resets requiring to erase all data in the past and I don't want to go that way again because I have about 3,500 songs. I have never experience this problem before in the past. I just want it to display the current list of songs. It's inconvenient having to type in every song while playing in the car instead of being able to easily pick an individual song.

I have this problem too and it drives me crazy. When I view my ipod, I don't want to see a list of the first 8 songs in my ipod library. I just want to see the current song playing. It's like the ipod display goes into some type of "sleep" mode while your music plays,and the display defaults to show the first few songs in your ipod touch library, even though none of those songs are currently being played. I have to take the time to either flip the ipod over a couple of times in order for that list to disappear just to see the current song playing.
This is an example of what I see on my display after the current song begins playing. These are the first songs in my ipod library. To get rid of this view, I have to either shake the ipod or flip it over a couple of times and the current song is now displayed, allowing you to see the current song, also allowing you access to the arrows to either fast forward or playback/reverse. On the display, the songs are in a grid or table format (unable to show that here).

IPod Touch 2G Update Problem from 2.2.1 to 4.2.1

and at the first, sorry for my bad english.
I have a strange problem with my iPod Touch 2G 32GB.
At the moment there is the version 2.2.1 installed.
When i connect it to the pc, there pop's up a Message,
that there is a new version (4.2.1) available.
Wenn i confirm this, the update process is running,
but after some time, it pop's up an error message.
(Mostly error 1601 or 1604).
AND the iPod is complete dark (only black screen).
No apple logo or itunes connect image, only black.
With some time i get 'blind' in the DFU mode and so
i can recover the Version 2.2.1. All other firmwares
3.x or 4.x do not work. Alway's the same Problems.
I have tested this on different pc systems with the newes
iTunse version and in Recover and DFU Modes with the same
bad results.
What can i do, to install the firmware 4.2.1 on my device ?
I hope someone can help me.

Yes, i have do all the things, but with the same result.
I have update a second ipod touch 2g 32GB (from my girlfriend) from
2.2.1 to 4.2.1 without problems.
Only my device have this problem.
I have the newest itunes installed on two different pc systems also with
the same bad results.
I found the following. Before the update is started, the device is
in by example DFU mode. I can see it with usbview on the port.
When an update is running normal, this descriptor is canceld and the
device coms up with an other one (by example iBoot Device)
Then the update start. The first USB connection is ok, and then, this
one is canceld but the second on, don't come up.
itunes wait a long time for it and the ist pop up error 160x message.
For my bad device it work's, when i use an firmware file with version
2.x.x but for all others (3.x and 4.x) the update do not work
(while the second usb descriptor don't comes up).
But this is not an hardware Problem of the device and not from the
pc side. 2.x Versions are running .....
I hope someone has an other idea for me :-(

My ipod touch syncs no problem, I cannot figure out how to get my playlists or songs to stay on my ipod. I can get them onto itunes from my computer. I know how through homeshare but then they disappear as soon as I turn off the comp obviously. Thanks:)

Thanks in advance for your patience and time with a newbie:) I can sync my ipod touch to itunes no problem, I figured out how to get my music from my computer onto an itunes playlist, my problem is how to get it to stay on my ipod. I made the mistake of using home sharing which of course turned out to be useless as soon as I turned my computer off, within minutes my ipod library disappeared. I feel like I am missing something simple, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again

Itunes/Ipod Touch Video Playback Problem

Hi all!
I am asking all you Ipod guru's for some help and insights, as I am getting slightly frustrated...
Background:
For a project at work I am trying to set up a video podcast feed with video's we have created for our customer.
The idea is that everyone at upcoming management conference will receive a Ipod Touch, with some easy explanation on how to -through a feed- download all our video's for them.
For that purpose I have set up a testfeed (checked and doublechecked) to get the videos into Itunes.
The feed works, the channels and videos show up under Podcasts and the videos are playable in Itunes (latest update) with no problems.
Now the problems start:
When I connect an Ipod Touch, check manual syncing (I don't want to touch what is already on there), and drag the videos to the Ipod, the videos only show up under the 'recently added' category. The channel does not even show, and even though they are videos.
I can play the videos from there in Itunes, and they work fine.
When I eject the Ipod, and then want to watch the videos, I have to really search for them: they are under Music (!!), under 'recently added', and only play the sound, not the video (although the first frame of the video is shown).
To try and circumvent the problem I directly imported the video into Itunes, instead of through the feed (although that totally negates the whole idea to begin with), the videos nicely show up under the Video category in Itunes.
When dragged from there to the Ipod, all works. As I then want to see those newly added videos on the Ipod, they NOW promptly show up in the video category, and play perfectly, with image and sound, and fullscreen.
So, the problem is not with the video itself. What am I doing wrong?
(nothing has changed in the videos at all from the beginning of the process, the videos were already Ipod-ready)
Any thoughts, where do the problems originate? Can I do something in the feed already, or...?
Any ideas will be most welcome!

P.S. it's also impossible to delete the uploaded video's that ended in the 'recently added' category

Since I've read similar threads on this, I have to think it's a bug.
What if you create a playlist in iTunes with the Podcast's name on it?
I can't really think of any other way around this until it gets fixed.
Oh, and send Apple feedback on this issue - it will help bring it to their attention.
