IPod touch 4g won't show up in iTunes

My iPod4g won't show up in iTunes at all. I've tried uninstalling and re-downloading the newest iTunes, I've uninstalled the iPod driver, idk what else to do. since I use a secondary music app cause apples is terrible I just upload my music to skydrive and download it like that but still I'd like to be able to use iTunes. any suggestions?

With your iPod connected to your computer and iTunes running, select your iPod form the left pane, click the File menu in top bar, from there select "transfer purchases from iPod"

IPod touch 4th gen wont show up in iTunes, but my old iPod nano does.

So I've looked up this issue on multiple forums and here, but it seems like everyone is having a simmilar issue, but not the same. I've gone through just about everything here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369 and I've tried all the trouble shooting and everything. I thought that maybe it was an issue with my cheap USB but I recently purchased an apple brand one and it still doesn't work. My iPod doesn't even show up as an iPod in the connected devices on my computer, but it shows up as a camera or something. I have a Toshiba Leading Innovation laptop with Windows 8, and a 4th generation iPod touch. My older iPod nano connects to iTunes just fine. I'm thinking it's an issue with my iPod touch but I have absolutely no clue how to fix this. Can anyone help?

The Nano uses different drivers than iOS devices like the iPod touch

For the future, saying you tried everything provides us with zero informatin as to what you did try. If you really tried everything then there is no way would could help.

My ipod touch charges, and even shows up on Itunes, but the screen doesn't turn on, how can i fix this?

My big brother gave me an ipod, just today. i let it charge until the battery was showing full on itunes, then i tried to turn it on but the screen won't power on. Th ipod even makes the little jingle when I plug it in. Are there any solutions what so ever?

- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

I am trying to download my music to the libraries on my computer. I noticed that one of my albums is not showing on ITunes but is showing up on my IPod.

Not sure as to why it happened. I just know this has been happening to a few users lately. It may be with how you have your iPod touch configured to sync Podcasts. So you may want to double check these settings as well as mess around with them a bit to figure out if that is the cause. Otherwise, I'm not entirely sure on this one. Sorry I cannot be of much help here.

Brand new iPod Touch 4g won't sync music from iTunes?

Every time I plug my iPod into my laptop to add more music I get an error saying iTunes cannot read the contents and I need to restore it. Last week I got a new white iPod Touch 8gb 4g. I had the same problem with my last iPod and when I bought the new one I was hoping I wouldn't anymore but I do. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, restarting my computer, hard rebooting my iPod, turning my iPod off and on, deleting old backups, etc. But still it won't sync correctly. Sometimes it will start the sync, but rush through all the steps without actually syncing anything. So I try to sync again and again to see if it will add anything but it just rushes through all the steps without doing anything. And eventually I get the message saying it cannot be read and needs to be restored. I'm using windows, and my iPod as well as iTunes are both up to date. And I have plenty of space left on my iPod. I've even checked for viruses/threats but there are none on my computer. Even to add one new song I have to restore first. Even though it's a brand new iPod. Any ideas why it won't sync or why iTunes cannot read the contents??? I've been having this problem for awhile. A couple months. With my old iPod and my new one.

My understnding is that this may be a Windows related problem or sometimes USB problem. I have the same issue and I know how to correct it, BUT ( and this is a BIG BUT) ... it will happen again and each time it does you will have to fully restore your I-Pod. Bought 3 songs on my iPod touch but didn't show up on iTunes. What to do?

I bought 3 songs yesterday directly from the iTunes Store on my iPod touch. They all downloaded and processed, and I assumed that they showed up on my iPod's music library.
Today I checked my iPod to listen to those 3 songs, but only one of them showed up. The other two just vanished. So I turned on the computer and synced my iPod with iTunes. I have it set to manually manage music and videos. When I clicked on "Purchased on (my name)'s iPod" under "Devices" all three songs were there. I checked my iPod again, and all the songs were now there.
But when I clicked on the iTunes store and clicked "Purchased" or "Purchased from (my name)'s iPod," none of the songs showed up. I checked my iTunes music library for the album of the songs, but none of them were present.
I reviewed my account's purchase history, and the songs I purchased were listed.
If I go on iTunes on the computer to download those songs again, will I be guaranteed to get a message that I already purchased the songs and that I can download them for free? The songs apparently weren't copied to my iTunes music library when I synced my iPod, since they didn't show up.
Will that message "You have already purchased this item..." show up even if I bought the song on my iPod, synced it but didn't copy the item to iTunes, and use iTunes on the computer to buy the sitem(s) again?
When I attempted to download the songs again on iTunes, it asked me if I was sure I wanted to download and buy the songs. It informed me that "my account will be debited for this purchase and the download will begin immediately." I got afraid and backed out. If I clicked, "Buy now," would it have given me the message that I already bought the songs, even if I didn't get them synced to my iTunes or purchased it from my iPod?

Why my Ipod Touch 4g doesn't show all my iTunes Match library?

I'm connecting my iPod Touch 4g to iTunes Match (using WiFi) but it isn't showing all my files. If I choose the option "Music" I can see all of them, but if I select "Artists" or "Albuns" I can't see them anyway. Even when using the "Search" tool, some times I can find the invisible content and some times I have an answer such as I don't have that file/album on my library. I have also an iPad 3rd gen that works fine with iTunes Match, so the problem is related to my iPod really.

How do you know the camera does not work if you do not have the FT or Camera apps?
Could those apps be hidden by Restrictions? Go to Settings>General>Restrictions and check

I had a nearly 2 year old ipod touch 4g that when updated to ios 5, it froze...just days before the orginal warranty was about to expire. apple store gave me a new ipod touch and they put ios 5 on it at the store. when i got home and synced it to my itunes, everything copied fine...and the strange thing is...no matter how long i leave the ipod connected to my macbook pro (running lion), itunes always stays stuck on "copying step 6 of 6". it NEVER stops copying. here's the wierd thing, i can manually unplug the ipod touch and it seems fine....all the stuff is there. but itunes never recognizes that it's done. i've restored the ipod AGAIN...and it still gets stuck on 'step 6 of 6'. i've left it synching overnight...and still, in the morning..'step 6 of 6'. bizarre. any one have ANY ideas on what's going on? I also have a iphone 4 running ios 5 and do NOT have this same problem.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
