IPod Touch 4th Gen 4.3.1 problem with vw mdi interface?

I've recently updated my iPod 4th gen to version 4.3.1 of iOS and now I'm having problems connecting it to my car audio system. I've got a vw and use the factory iPod MDI cable. The iPod has connected fine for months but now says "this accessory not support by iPod Touch" and the stereo says either no device or no files. Is this a software issue? has anyone else seen it?
Thanks

Same problem here. On my rental car (Hyundai Sonata) stereo my BB8330 works perfectly via cable and Bluetooth. The Ipod Touch, with ver. 4.3.1., is not recognized/played via BT nor USB.
On my personal car stereo (Kenwood DDX418), if I want to choose a song within an album within an artist it may display the wrong song. I noticed this happens from a certain point on. My library consist of about 400 artists, and from one of the artists (ie Ruben Blades) and on the songs shown within the artist and its corresponding album(s) are instead the songs from the first artists in the library (meaning those starting with the letter A, then B, then, C, etc.)
All of this started with the new 4.3.1.

    Yes, I've been using it for months. And I can charge other devices with it. (my iPhone) but something weird just happened..... I kept on pluging it in the iPod and sometimes it would start to chàrge then sometimes it won't charge. Charges every time with the iPhone though.

  • IPod touch 4th Gen. Wi-Fi Problems

    Hi. I have an iPod touch 4th generation running 6.0.1, and when I try to join a locked Wi-Fi network, it says "Unable to Join." I can connect to open networks just fine, but not locked networks. Any solution? Thanks!

    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect to your network?
    Did the iPod connect before?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • I have an ipod touch 4th gen. Can anybody help with ghost files?

    Here is my problem:  I added an equalizer program called "Louder Logic", It worked great until I needed to delete most of my Loaded CD's, to create space.  I made the mistake of deleting the Louder Logic CD file first,  which created these Ghost  Files in the Apple CD file.  The files appear, but are not bolded,and cannot be played. I tried deleting all music files and reseting the ipod, but the ghost files are still in the apple program.  I would appreciate  some help if anyone else made this same mistake.

    Restore your iPod completely....

    Since upgrading to iOS 5 and Lion, my iPod 4 calendar has become unusable. It will not sync with iCloud or my Macbook Pro. Suggestions?

    Yes. I have already been through every online suggestion on the Tech Support page for iCloud. VERY frustrated at present.

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen "Other" files goes 20+ GB?

    I have an iPod Touch 4th Gen 32 GB non-Jailbroken with iOS 5.0.1. Recently checked at iTunes for Usage. I've given a strange result :
    From above, the details of the Usage are:
    Audio = 191 songs
    Video = 1 Video (8 minutes)
    Photos = 428 Pictures and 8 Videos ( All are under 10 mins)
    Apps = 81 Apps
    Other = ?
    The question is, What are the "Other" Files? And in what way to reduce that file?
    Optional -> My friend has a Jailbroken iPod and has this problem too, how to solve it?
    Thanks in Advance

    We do not support jailbroken devices here so we cannot help your friend. He should unjailbreak so he is no longer in violation of the iPod license agreement.
    That aside, "Other" should never be more than a GB or two, so it would probably be a good idea to restore your iPod. Try from a backup first, and if that doesn't work, restore to factory settings.

  • I have an iBook G4, its current OS is 10.4.11(tiger i think) i cant update itunes past 9.2 which is a big problem for my new ipod touch 4th gen! please help me someone!

    hello, i have an iBook G4 which is old, it has an OS of 10.4.11 which is called tiger i think, forgive me im new to apple,
    it has a version of itunes installed (9.2) which worked fine with my 1st gen ipod touch but ive upgraded to a 4th gen ipod touch and now my itunes version is no longer compatible, the problem is that because my os is out of date i cant install the current version of itunes so i  think i need to upgrade my OS.
    Like i say im quite new to apple so any help or information would be greatly appreciated. thank you

    As Niel has suggested Mac OS X 10.5 Lepaord.
    But first of all make sure that your iBook is above 800Mhz and you have at least 512 Meg of memory. (1 GB recommended)
    Please note, that if you do install Mac OS X 10.5 on your iBook, it will not allow you to install the latest version of iTunes version 11. The most recent version of iTunes that can be installed would be 10.5, which will be compatible with your iPod touch 4th gen, provided it's not been updated to iOS 6.
    Sadly you can't install any version of Mac OS X above 10.5 Leopard, as it they requires an Intel processor, which your iBook G4 does not have.
    Hope this helps.

    I am having the same problem (lost in back-up purgatory) on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad2.  I am running Windows XP.
    I have tried everything I've seen suggested on various support communities, with no success.
    I have gotten used to having to find a windows workaround everytime Apple updates iTunes, and this time it is especially frustrating.
    I don't have any solutions, and I am responding to all of these types of messages in hopes of finding something that will work for me.
    One person was able to work through it by deleting all of the previous iTunes backup files.  I'm trying that now.  4 hours into it, and it does not seem to be working......

  • Problems syncing my ipod touch 4th gen

    I am having problems syncing my ipod touch 4th gen to itunes.  I keep getting an error message stating iTunes could not back up the iPod "name of ipod" because an error occured.  My daughter and I both use the same computer to sync our ipod's and this problem only occurs when I try to sync mine.  It works fine syncing hers and I have tried to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it.  Please help

    Try placing the iPod backup file in a safe location so iTunes has to create an entire new file.  It is located here:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP,  Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.

    i have an ipod touch 4th gen ... love it .. but only one problem... the headphone jack is giving trouble.... help me plz!!

    Have you verified that it is the headphone jack that is the problem by trying opther sets of headphones?
    Have you tried cleaning the jack by using a QTip or similar ite?
    If you confirmed that the headphone jack is the problem Apple will ony exchange the iPod for $99, $149 or $1999 depending upon the capacity.

  • Location Service Problem! I Moved To A New House, and Used The Same Wifi, But My iPod Touch(4th Gen. iOS 6) Is Still Using My Old Location/Address and Not My New One, How Do I Fix This?

    I Moved From New York To Florida, But Kept The Same WiFi/Router, But The Maps App and My iPod Touch(4th Gen. & iOS 6) Is Still Registering My Location In New York.

    For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
    Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
      You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds
