Ipod Touch 4th Gen doesn't see my WIFI network.

I recently erased the ipod and set up as a new ipod (regifted to my daughter) and updated to 6.1.5.  It does not find my network now after the update.  All my other devices connect no issue, as did this ipod before the erase & update.  As a side note, the camera also disappeared after the update.  I erased it again and set it up as new again and the camera reappeared, but still no network.
I tried to manually enter my network by name and it says it's not found.
Help?
I was going to go to the Apple Store but it's nearly an hour away and we're under a foot of snow.  Any suggestions?

If not:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

  • IPod touch 4th gen doesn't respond to touch

I just dropped my iPod touch 4th generation, and it stopped responding to touch. I have no idea what happened. the top half works, so i can listen to music still, but thats all i can do. if i put my thumb sideways in the center of the screen and push down hard, it works. there was already a small crack in the top left corner, but i doubt that has anything to do with it. All suggestions help and are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for a 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • Why won't my iPod touch (4th gen) no longer connect to wifi?

Yesterday I noticed that my iPod Touch (4th generation) was no longer connected to my home wifi. It can see the network, but it won't connect. There is no error message of any kind, but the spinning wheel thing comes up to the left of the network name and it won't quit. I took my iPod to work today (as I normally do), and it did not join the network there either. Same thing- it saw the network, but would not join. What can I do to fix this problem?

  • My ipod touch 4th Gen doesn't give "System update" option in General settings, how can i fix it?

My gf gave me her old ipod touch. the 4th gen one with the front facing camera, the version is 4.3.3 and I'm trying to update it, but when I go into "general" and right under the "about" option it should give me the "system update" option but it doesn't, is there a reason for that?

That option won’t appear in iOS versions prior to 5.0; update it from iTunes on a computer as described at the bottom of this article. It can only be updated directly to the newest iOS release supported by the device’s hardware.
The maximum iOS version for the fourth generation iPod touch and iPhone 3GS is 6.1.6.

  • New ipod touch 4th gen doesn't turn on anymore...

    Hi all,
I got a new ipod touch for Christmas and the other day I just couldn't turn it on any longer.
I'm sure the battery was still charged, but nothing. I also tried the sleep/wake + home button press for 10 secs, 20 secs, etc. many times, with and without the charger/mac-usb cable connected, to no avail.
Connecting it to my mac does nothing anymore. Won't charge either...
    Help
    Thanks,

  • Ipod Touch 4th gen won't connect to wifi

    Hi there,
my ipod touch finds my wifi connection alright, but won't it connect to it. It keeps loading on and on but in the end it never does. I can't reset or access the router because I live in a student accomodation flat. I've tried switching it off and back on again and the same happens every time. Strange thing is that my flatmates iphone connects just fine and so does my pc. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen No Longer Connects to WiFi

Tonight I've been watching videos via the new Youtube app (from the appstore, since the one that comes with iPod is no longer available). I was watching a Youtube video when the battery on my iPod touch ran out. I connected the charger, the iPod turned on, and it suddenly won't connect to my WiFi anymore. I have other devices that connect to the WiFi with no issues. What happens is I go to my WiFi settings, and select my router as the access point, and a rotating loading icon appears next to my access point's name, 'belkin54g'. But the loading icon never goes away, and as a result doesn't connect to WiFi. I recently upgraded to iOS 6 if that helps. This WiFi connection has always worked fine on this iPod touch, so I have no idea as to why it decided to crap out on me.

  • IPod Touch - 4th Gen. Checked onto open WiFi but NO internet connection?

Hi, New Ipod Touch user. when I search for WiFi connection - open unlocked connections and find them, I click and select these but then when I go into safari; I get the "cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet message".
Is there something else I need to be doing - I am able to see a few open - unlocked WiFi networks even ones named Free Public WiFi at work, but, even with these click - I have no access to internet??

Have you tried the basic troubleshooting here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Is it your router or is it a "free" wifi hot spot. For some free wifi you may have to do something. It depends upon the specific setup.
    Have your :
    - powered of and then back on the router:
    - Reset network settings on the iPod:
    Settings>General>Reset
    - Have you reset your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • New ipod touch 4th gen wont connect to home wifi livebox?

Hi I bought a new ipod touch yesterday 4th generation iOS5, I haven't been able to connect it to my home wifi at all. My brother's old Ipod touch connects perfectly fine, I know I'm not typing in an incorrect WEP key, but it just says "unable to join network" I have an orange (wanadoo) livebox. Any help would be much appreciated. I've tried resetting network settings/restarting it/restoring it etc etc but nothing works.

  • IPod touch (4th gen) doesn't register as a device on my PC

When I plug in my iPod, it shows that it is charging, but wont let me sync to the main computer. I'll look under devices, but nothing is there. Then, I'll go into wi-fi sync on my iPod, but when I choose my PC, I can't click sync. Is there an issue with my computer, iPod, or is it just as simple as getting a new chord?
P.s.: I barely got my iPod to charge. (I have to push the charger at an angle, but there aren't any forseeable issues with that.)

    - Try another cable.
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic. (this may be the cause)
    - Try another USB port

  • My ipod touch 4th gen froze! blank white screen and doesn't respond when turned off, or connected to my laptop

my ipod touch 4th gen froze! only blank white screen and doesn't respond when turned off or connected to my laptop!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.
