  • Daughter's iPod touch 4th gen is stuck in recovery mode, won't turn on after I restore it, please help...

My daughters iPod touch 4th gen is STUCK. Somehow it was disabled because of too many password attempts (my younger daughter was pushing numbers). I connected it to iTunes, did the press and hold power button + home button, then let go of sleep button. iTunes recognized it, gave me the option to restore it and did its thing. Here's the problem, now it won't GET OUT of that mode. After the first attempt, it wouldn't power on after I disconnected it from the computer. So I hooked it up again, and it says its detected an iPod in recovery mode and offers me the same "update & restore" option it did originally. Now what??? Please help. My daughter just got this two weeks ago for her birthday.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod touch 4th gen is stuck in recovery mode with a broken 'lock' button.

My iPod touch 4th generation is stuck in recovery mode with a black screen and I can't get it out. It has a broken lock button and I have tried everything to get it out of recovery mode. Every time I plug it into iTunes, it recognises my iPod and says 'iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used in iTunes, so I have restored it several times and every time, it says there is an unknown error. Please Help!! (my iPod is IOS 6.0.1)

What is the complete wording of the error message that says unknown error? Usually more information like a error number is also given.

  • Ipod touch 4th gen is stuck in restore :(

And i have tried every single thing except for taking it for repair to the apple store because they want to charge me 35€ for that, which is absurd.
I was just playing Clumsy Ninja and suddenly my bf's iPod went white and turned off.
When I connected the device to iTunes it told me to update and restore the iPod and I was really confused because I did not do anything illegal or compromising just because I did not want to breach the warranty for it is not my iPod. So after I got from the Apple Store, I started searching on Google for answers but nothing helped. The iPod is still stuck in this restore or recovery mode whatev and I will not take it to the Apple Store unless they repair it for free. It was not my fault and therefore they do not deserve my money.
So I really need help, please tell me what to do.

Now it says iTunes has detected an ipod in recovery mod, but when I try to restore it, it says something like could not connect to apple restore firm and I'm back to square one.
    Any Help is appreciated!

  • My iPod touch (4th gen is stuck on the apple logo when you first turn it on?

So, my iPod has been acting weird since I updated to iOS 5.1.1 It gets fully carged and dies in three minutes. Well now it gets stuck on the apple logo at startup. It does the apple logo and shuts off and goes to the apple logo again. It does this repeatedly. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried resetting it multiple times, delete all the apps, all the music.

Hey Edgar, how exactly did you do the updates? Are you running iTunes 11.2.2? And you iPod 5 is still running iOS 6.1.2 as your tag shows? or are you running iOS 7.1.1?  More info would be helpful. As Deggie asked, what was the error message, the more detailed the better. One more thing-- is this a Mac machine or a PC? Cheers.

  • My ipod touch 4th gen is stuck at the ipod logo for a long time, and i know about the recovery state process, but i can't do that because my power button doesn't work.

Does anyone know how to fix this? this is really annoying and it takes a loooooooooong time to turn on.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recoverymode,
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod Touch 4th gen is stuck on the screen with the iTunes logo and usb logo and it wont show up in itunes either. How do i fix it?

I forgot my passcode to my ipod so i went to restore it. When it said if i waned to restore and update that was my only option. So now i clicked that and my ipod will not leave this screen. No matter what i do. I even tried literally every step such as: the DFU mode, reinstalling itunes and the apple mobile device support, hard resetting my ipod and so many things, yet they all dont seem to help. What can i do to fix this ipod.

If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.
