Ipod touch 4th gen won't sync or download podcasts

Hi, all! I get that the ipod touch 4th gen won't update to ios7, but this has made podcasts unusable I'm unable to download new podcasts or sync them to my computer because I'm told the podcast app isn't updated. Is there anything I can do or do I basically have an unusable ipod where podcasts are concerned?

Why happens when you install the last compatible version of the podcast app and sync?
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

My touch was running fine until one day I found about 3gb occupied by 'other' space. I ended up restoring my ipod which took care of the problem, but created a new one in that the ipod will no longer sync anything from my itunes library. I have music set up to sync selected artists, and when I click the checkboxes to select my albums and artists to sync, the 'audio' bar fills up.
When I click 'apply', the 'starting sync' and progress bar pop up for like half a second then disappear. Same goes with photos, apps, podcasts, etc.

Verify that you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Seems to be an Apple or FB app problem. Nothing you can do but wait for it to be fixed.

Ipod Touch 4th gen won't sync after Ipod restore

My Ipod wouldn't sync new music I put added to my playlists so I restored my Ipod to it's original settings because I felt it was needed. Now after my Ipod is done it's restoration I tried to resync. Still won't work and I'm baffled as to what could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you describe your problem further? Are you getting any error messages in iTunes? Just appearing to sync as normal?

Hi I have a refurb ipod touch 4th gen, I bout it a little over 4 months ago and have sync-ed it with the same emac g4 running 10.5.8 iTunes 10.2(at time of purchase) to 10.4(today) and abruptly today I plugged it in, and my computer will not recognize it in the slightest. I followed instructions and guides and trouble shooters, and put it in recovery mode, dfu mode and plugged it into all the computers in the house, from 2010 MacBook to lenovo running ubuntu. It still charges using my wall charger, bit WON'T EVEN CHARGE When I connect it to the computer. and I would leave well enough alone except I want to sync new music and update iOS 5 when it comes out. But as stated before I have tried all I can, even looking into jailbreaking. PLEASE HELP I JUST BOUGHT THIS, if you can help in any way please do

I Have Now For 5 Days Tried Everything On Apples Website, MacRumors, MacHeads, Etc. And Still Nothing, Although In Windows it Comes up with "USB Device Not Recognized" And When In Device Manager I Right Click on "Unknown Device" And Click Properties, And Its USB ID is All Zeros, Apple Had an article on this but i did all that was stated and still nothing.
The Nearest 'Apple Certified' Genius Bar is At a Computer Store, but, Unlike Apple Stores; Diagnostics on ipods is $15 and then more to Fully Repair, So i Think I'll Call Apple First. haha

I have had my iPod for about 1 year, and songs previously have worked & synced before but now they do not.
All my songs got deleted from my iPod and now they wont take from iTunes back too my iPod..
The songs play within iTunes also
And they are all ticked
and i am pretty sure that all the options are ticked too
I think it happened when they changed iTunes over to the new design..But im not 100%..

this same thing is happening to me! I literally JUST got this iPod Touch 4th Generation 4 days ago. This is unacceptable Apple.

IPod touch 4th gen won't let me download iOS 6

When I go to Settings > General > Software Update, it says I can download the iOS 6. So I click Download & Install and it starts to download, but after about half an hour a notification comes up saying "An Error occured while downloading iOS 6".... I had my iPod touch 4th generation connected to iTunes the whole time, and I've tried restarting my iPod before downloading, and closing all my other apps before downloading it. But it still does the same thing! It has done this 4 times now! All I want is the new Emoji keyboard, is that too much to ask?! Has this happened to anyone else? What should I do? Should I restore my iPod and if so, how do I do that?

I have the most recent iTunes (11.1.1) and a 4th Gen iPod Touch (6.1.3) that connects just fine to iTunes, but will not sync. It gets through the backup and just closes without warning. It won't sync with the changes I made in my library, adding new songs, deleting old tracks, and unchecking/rechecking other songs, reorganized/new playlists, etc., something which I've never had an issue with before.
Is the new iTunes incompatible with my iPod?
Is there a way to fix this without having reset my iPod?
I'll do what I have to do, but I would really like to not have to reinstall iTunes again or restore my iPod to factory mode, as when I made the switch from Windows to Mac, it was a huge pain.

A few months ago I dropped my ipod in the sink while the water was running. Since then my ipod is glitchy, the screen will freeze during applications, and take forever to return to my home screen. I have been trying on and off to get my ipod to sync to my itunes, and it won't. As soon as I plug it in my ipod shows it is connected, but it doesn't show up as connected in my itunes. I've been able to get it to sync maybe once since I dropped it.

My ipod touch(4th gen)no longer syncs to itunes 10.7 via usb. i knew it didn't work via wifi with the new updates but this is too far. i can't see it in itunes at all anymore. i restarted my ipod already still with no results. the only thing i did is create and delete playlist from the ippd and deleted others from itunes as well. i've done it before but this time i assume it's led to this. any suggestions?

Disregard. It seems i just needed to install an optional update with windows update. either that or just restart my computer instead of my ipod. silly me.

I removed the bluetooth receiver from the ipod because it kept saying make sure the receiver device is on and within range. Now it doesn't even detect the bluetooth receiver. Any ideas?
