IPod Touch 5 can't connect wifi only using WPA2

My daughter has an iPod Touch 5th generation that one day stopped connecting at home to Wifi using WPA2. I use an Actiontec MI424WR Rev I and while her iPod Touch keeps showing the error "incorrect password" I use on the same network with no issues 2 ASUS laptops, 1 Samsung laptop, 1 Dell laptop, 1 iPad 4th gen, 1 iPhone5, 1 iPhone 5c, 1 ipod touch 3, and 1 Android tablet. The most frustrating thing is that at school and other places where no password is needed she can connect. I've tried to use specific channels on the router, as opposed to automatically assigning one, with the same results. The other devices work, while I keep getting the same error for her.
Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thank you

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My Ipod Touch 4G can't connect to my internet

My Ipod Touch 4G won't connect to my internet anymore.  I have had this Ipod for about 2 months and have never had any noticeable problems with my internet connection, but today I left the house for an hour and when I came back I couldn't get it to connect.  When I go to the settings and look at my wi-fi, it shows that it is loading my wi-fi connection, but it can't connect to the point where it shows the check mark.
I don't believe the problem has anything to do with the router, my sister also has an Ipod Touch 4G and hasn't had any problems, and there are plenty of other devices that are connecting with the internet fine.
I already tried resetting all my network settings, I have turned it off and on several times, and I've tried to be patient to see if it fixes itself.
I don't really know a lot about this kind of stuff, so if someone could help me figure out how to fix this I would really appreciate it.

  • Ipod Touch/Iphone can't connect to network

    Hello,
I have 2 Macbok pros/1 Imac/ 2 Ipads that connect to my Time Capsule but my Ipod and Iphone does not. The Ipod/Iphone all were working fine but then suddenly yesterday they stopped, but he computers/Ipads still connect. Any help would be appreciated

I wanted to chime in here, too. We have a new Time Capsule, a MacBook Air, and two iPod Touches of two different generations.
After a few months of successful WiFi connectivity, last week BOTH iPod Touches stopped being able to connect to the internet. Sometimes the WiFi icon will appear, but without the ability to use that connection.
Resetting the Touch Network Settings didn't help.
Running AIrport Assistant helped for only a few minutes, and then the Touches would lose their connection again.
I hope someone knows an answer to this.

  • IPod Touch 4G can't connect to the internet

I've seen similar posts, but there doesn't seem to be an answer.
I can connect my iPod Touch to my wireless router but cannot connect to the internet. Safari gives the following error:
"Cannot open page. Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet".
Other devices (wireless and not) can connect to the internet.
In the Wi-Fi settings, I have an IP address and subnet mask, but nothing for Router or DNS. I have reset the Wi-Fi settings a couple of times.
The router is a SpeedStream 6540.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem on older dsl modems if your IP address is 169 you must connect to your router even if it is showing bars that your wii-fi is available & working. It took some time for me to figure this out but you must go to settings click on wi-fi (even if its showing your wii-fi signal name & that it is on it will only do this if you put in a password which is usually on the back/bottom of your modem in form of a sticker that reads device/access code or something similar  or it may do this automatically remember just because you are connected doesn't mean you have access as of yet) Ok so here's the trick to it all you must select other then type in your network name same as your wii-fii name for example mine is a # yours maybe speedstreamer560 etc  and then enter security code which is usually found on the back or bottom of your modem it will usually be a very very long # if it is wep you may also have wpa wpa2 etc your modem's sticker will let you know what you have so make sure under the security tab you press the > to select the security that applies to you. then yousave it or press done I forget it says and you will be connected but you must make positively sure you typed in all the right info especially those of you with wep theres like a combo of letters & #'s totaling 26 so just one mistake & no connect. Hope this has helped

  • Shattered iPod Touch 4g can't connect to iTunes - locked with passcode?

Okay, so I have an iPod Touch that was run over by a van and the digitizer is entirely shattered - pieces are falling off and part of the underneath is exposed. The LCD is also non-functional - I only get white (assuming this is just the backlight). I need to backup the content on it but when plugged in, iTunes says it cannot connect because it is locked with a passcode. I know the passcode, but I cannot type it in because the screen does not work. Is there a way for me to type it in from my computer or anything else? All suggestions are appreciated!

  • I changed the channel on my Belkin Wireless router now my ipod touch 1G can't find my wifi network?

A few hours ago I changed the channel on my Belkin Wireless router for the 1st time. It was either on auto, or channel 6 before, i'm not sure, but I changed it to 11, and now my ipod touch 1G can't find my wifi network. I tried changing it to 6, but nothing, and I also can't go back to auto. Can someone please help. I've already searched for the network, and it says "Cant find network". I've also restarted my router. I also added the MAC address, still nothing. Other than those things, I havent touched anything else. My ipod could connect before just find. My Wifi is not disabled, and it's not on private. I can connect with other wifi's fine. And I can connect to other networks with my ipod, I also held down the button on top, and the home button for 10 seconds to restart and nothing. I also reset my network settings. Please help!

Find the documentation for your router and look up "Reset to Factory Defaults."  This process will put the router back to the way it was when you bought it.

  • IPod Touch 4gen will not connect to wifi no matter what

My white 8gb iPod Touch 4gen will not connect to wifi, I have reset the network and the entire iPod. • My ipod touch says it is connected to wifi, but won't run anything that uses it like safari or itunes, and I don't know how to fix it

Can anyone help me? my  ipod touch says it is connected to wifi, but it won't run anything that uses wifi like safari or itunes, and I don't know how to fix it

You didn't indicate if it ever worked.  If it NEVER did, the problem could be caused by a firewall in the router.  For reasons that I do not understand, that will affect IOS (iPod/iPad) communication but will not affect computers or other devices.
You will need administrative access to the router.  If a firewall is present, turn it off and test the iPod again.  If it works, turn the firewall back on but weaken it a notch and test the iPod again.  Repeat as required.

  • TS4062 my ipod touch shows it is connected to internet, but says it can't connect to the server.  Help!

My ipod touch shows it's connected to the internet, but says it can't connect to the server.  How can I fix?

The machine is booting up so I wouldn't worry about the PRAM battery.  I set my time off of the internet, since my pram battery is dead & I do not feel like changing it.  click on time to get this panel.
The imac I have has 1.25GHz and I am assuming has an airport card because the Internet worked on it when I tested it out before I bought it.
To sort things out, I'd connect the machine via an ethernet cable to you router. Thus, if it works well via a cable you will have narrowed the problem down to the wifi card.
My wireless is on WPA/WPA2. How do I get the Internet to start working?
You sure the machine is connecting to your router not a neighbors?  Set router to now encryption & see how things work.  Just for testing.

I bought a new ipod touch today and it connects to my wifi automatically... But I forgot my wifi password for my new iPod touch and I don't know how to find it in my old iPod?

You can usually find the wi-fi password on your router itself if you know the router's ID and password (not the wi-fi password).  You can log into your router by putting its address (usually 192.168.1.1) into your browser's address window.
